    Topical humor (or topical folk songs or topical political analysis) must get dated, or it probably wasn’t timely in the first place. A few of the great ones, like George Carlin or Dylan or Lennon or Watterson, often come out with timeless stuff. But many great ones don’t. They’re still great.

    Thank God comics aren’t drawn with re-run value in mind. It’s just the economics of all different comics that looks exactly the same to the corporations that hold the rights. They market them all the same and let the chips fall wherever. Ugh.
