marg what brand is your kayak? Looks like a Perception or Old Town or maybe a Necky? 10 footer?

~ It’s a Perception. It’s name is ‘Fred’, after our old Springer Spaniel who loved to swim with me.

Good morning margueritem and johnnydoc. I too like to kayak. I have an easy rider. I used to take a weeklong kayaking trip every year with a group of friends. Now it gets used mainly on our lake.

RadK, thanks for the mile markers yesterday. Made it easier to me to find my spot trying to keep up with everyone.

Today is my day to actually go out and treat myself to some breakfast. I’ll bring back French toast, eggs, and of course grits. I’ll bring some back for everyone.

    Good morning all!

Cleokaya - I have a theory on the time perception thing. I think the reason time seems to go by faster now than it did when we were little is proportions. When you are 10 years old, 1 year represents 10% of your lifespan (even more of your cognizant, since most don’t remember first 2 years). When you are 40, a year only represents 2.5% so it appears to be shorter when compared to the rest of your life experience. There, that’s my philisophical stretch for the day, can I go back to sleep now?

That sounds so much like stuff I’ve been saying for years. That is why when a parent says I’ll be there in 5 mins it’s an eternity to a child! So I’m much more patient. DigitalFrog, your theory makes perfect sense to me. In a way it’s kind of like visiting a room, that when you were a child, seemed so large. Only to find out it’s quite small, as an adult. doctortoon will appreciate this, when I was an infant, my grandparents had several house cats. I always remember that they, seemed taller, very hairy and quite intimidating.

Come on over it you’d like, I have a full bar, just bring your mix of choice, or let me know and I will join you all at another spot and while the way the hours shooting the breeze. One thing that I like about our yard, aside from my wife’s garden work that makes our home look like a park, is that we have three patios and three decks, so outdoor seating areas are plentiful for conversation and meandering. We just finished a little walk around seeing what new growth has opened today. We had a rough winter, so it is nice to see that some plants we thought were lost come to life. Good luck Dry, I have no advice because I am a lost cause when it comes to anything technical.
