Hi, Tabby! Since you’re not using the lily, I thought I would for a while. Breakfast looks great!

so i started my walk at about 10:30 or so fin about 11:15 had a short one… and took a shower, cleaned the kitchen, now checking this then going lay down and watch Sweet home Alabama. and laugh and sing and cry with it. good night all…. well good morning technically. sweet dreams and a great day to all. peace and love. may show up some time later depends on how much work i get done. :D

tabby thanks for that song. I really like what I’ve heard from Avril (but I don’t have any of her CDs). One of the latest movies I’ve watched is Eragon. I didn’t want to see it when it came out, but after hearing Avril’s song and seeing some clips, I got excited when Disney showed it. I enjoyed the movie, but when it came time for her song at the end, Disney talked over it. Had to go to YouTube to watch it.

Almost forgot to read the comic again. While I love to watch Cirque du Soleil, I don’t think I’ve ever been able to follow the stories they are trying to tell.

It’s really hard to think outside the box when you work in a cube!

Morning all! Good to be back. Canadians drive to fast. I ran into 3 bad accidents on my trip to Silver Creek, BC. Two of them before the ambulance and police arrived, but plenty of people to help.

We are getting August weather. Several of our outdoor plants suffered from lack of water during the 4 days we were away. It is a bit scary, but I am loving the sun.

Cleo, Glad to see you back! Talk about crazy drivers, you should take a trip to New Hampshire sometime. From the Hudsan Valley area all the way through Connecticut is a terrifying trip! 4 lanes in each direction, 80 mph drivers and you have to drive just as fast or else, people on cell phones as they are driving, zipping in an out of lanes, MAN!

Here in Ontario, the norm is 120 kph. The speed limit is 100kph. The first time I drove on a highway, I overshot the first lane and wound up between two transports going 120 kph all the way to my destination. I just grit my teeth and prayed I could get to the off ramp before crashing! LOL

Good play on words. You can tell it’s morning still. It took me a few minutes to finger it out.

The trip went okay. My hubby had to take an overnight business trip, and I went to visit a relative I hadn’t seen in many, many years. I don’t regret visiting, but didn’t enjoy it enough to make a habit of it. I hurt my left hand (just a little - I think) pulling myself up to climb in the truck on the way home. (It is one of those you wish it had a ladder.) Also, my hubby forgot the electric cord to his CPAP machine, so his snoring kept me from sleeping well. So, between being sleep-deprived and a sore hand, I’ll be mostly reading and not writing. Cleo - I’m glad you had a pleasant time.

Oh, a well-played kazoo is not too bad. In fact, I was a proud member of the University of Chicago Marching Kazoo Band at the Homecoming Football game the year I was there.

OTOH, a well-played bagpipe qualifies nearly as a weapon of war. (See Gordon Dickson’s Michael Sandoval, a true Dorsai, facing the enemy with just his pipes after vowing to wield no weapon of war.)

I think Mrs. Sherrie (my neighbor and good friend) got me sick. we were drinking out of the same water bottle and now my throat is sore and scratchy. i don’t like it but what can i do. she was getting over heated and i shared with her. heck if being a good friend gets me sick then so be it….. then again it could just be my asthma acting up again… who knows.

I’m fine. I was enjoying the sign of late Spring today: lilacs blooming in all their fragrant glory. (Early spring has the prairie crocuses, which are much less visible and fragrant, but show up before any other flowers, when the snow is still melting.)

And I agree with some of the early comments: the only time I’m aware of rain and night thunderstorms is often by the wet sidewalks in the morning…

And how are you? I see the ankles are getting better day by day…

Bmonk yes. the prayer and following… well 1/2 following the doctors orders has payed off. i am getting closer to being able to sit Indian style every day. :) i am doing well today. its funny bc i cant wait till Sunday bc one of my fav shows are starting up again and at the same time i want Friday and sat to never come. (my best friend is leaving for a week. :( )

i also wake up some morning to see that it has rained. and my dad will ask me… “did you hear the storm last night? it had me up and down all night” and i’ll laugh and say nope. :) i sleep best when it rains.

@tabby, I must too, only I never realize, ‘cause I’m asleep when it happens! :-)

Bmonk lol i realized that rain on a tin roof makes me sleep even better. i found out bc i woke of so refreshed and late the next morning and was in the same position i was in when i feel asleep. lol

Tabby - I realize it is a little late now, but why didn’t you take the ACT earlier? You can take it way before you graduate, and keep retaking it, if you want to. There are ACT prep seminars & courses that are supposed to help raise your score on the test. I can’t believe your school counselor didn’t inform you!

Hey everyone, All the racket from those instruments made it so I was able to hear Big Top before I got here. Tabby, that is unfortunate that you missed it, but you will do fine on it. Just remember to keep a good pace while you are going. Rmom is right, why didn’t your counselors tell you about the earlier exams, I took my ACT as a junior.

Rmom I have taken it about 3 times the last time i went down and i need to get it back up. i have taken it and im going crazy because i got distracted with all that junk a while back for Graduation. now im going to lose my mind. My school Counselor was no help at all with anything. he upset me a lot. Our Counselor was never around and we did not get any news till it was the day before it was due. if i could go back and do it differently i would but i cant so i have to trust God to help me get it done. sigh i need to go finish the house stuff. and fill out this paper and try to get in touch with the high school i went to. ugh!

Dawn - It is unbelievable weather. I have been watering our outdoor plants since we got home and all day today. Our temps went up 10 degrees faren. per hour. it is now 81. Fortunately, we have a constant breeze off the lake and it is never hot, so it is pleasant, but the breeze dries the plants out sooner.

Tabby, can you come clean my place now? I’ll pay you!

Dry if you wouldn’t live so far i would do it for free just bc you have helped me out a lot. :D now i am going wash my hair and cut/trim it myself. then straiten it and hope that that takes my headache away.

Sorry to hear that Tabby. I got an ACT prep course for my youngest son to help him bring up his scores. When he was in middle school, he could get 90 percentiles on his standardized tests, but he’s getting less than 50% on the ACT. I think it is because he doesn’t use his time efficiently, so I’m hoping the prep course will help him. I don’t know what is available to you, but if you ask around, you can probably find out.

Hey, what’s a little extra crud. The furniture though, smells like it has been stored in the Pirate’s locker near the beach, musty and moldy. Oh well, it covers up the smoke from the fire ring that you created on the hardwood floors in our living room. You guys, you did know that I have an outdoor one that you could have used. That’s okay, we had planned to remove the carpet and make the whole house hardwood. Maybe we’ll make the whole house carpet. That way I can just cover the fire pit in carpet. Nobody will know the difference.

Who cares, the fact that you celebrated my birthday more than makes up for the damages to my house. Sob, boo hoo.
