For breakfast today we will be having Pancakes…. and anything else that needs eggs. i have over 5 dozens eggs i need to get rid of them. so eggs for all…. well since im the last one standing im going to bed. i still have to read some. i have helped my friend out as much as i can for one night. and my brain is now mush. so good night all.
now you two show up… shakes head i was all alone and losing my mind and noone shows up till now. what kind of people are you?? lol just messing with you. would have been nice to have some company… lol i have to go to bed. goodnight. just relized i havent had a shower yet. sigh
Tomorrow, I resume my Tinkerbell avatars. I also do cartoons in my spare time. As soon I can get a better computer with a “supportive system”, you’ll see avatars of those. I had this e-machine 667since 2000.
Hi Doc! I am feeling much better this morning. I think I might mow the lawn in a bit.
RRAmom, I got tired of Lancelot. My avatar is a picture of a painting by Mary Cassat. I have a large framed poster of it in my kitchen. I thought it looked like my 2 oldest girls when they were much younger.
Tabby: LOL That’s what happened to me when I was first! I arrive first thing in the morning, and the guys are still kibbitzing from the night before. I could have swaorn it was to get someone else to do breakfast! lol
Thanks to both Cleo and Tabby for breakfast. I have to eat and run to an appointment this morning.
DRY: I’m glad the storm didn’t hit you. I must have dreamed that bit about dropping off a double bassoon and double brass trombone and then flying away with RRAmom and Toto. Thank heavens!
Doc T. : Since you don’t mention your famous coffee, I’ll leave some here for anyone who needs a boost while they wait.
Akenta: Good to see you too.
JFri: Good work on the search. More #POWER to you!
RRAmom and Carmy: Great to see you both safe and sound. CArmy glad yuo are feeling better.
Yeah, doc, you never know where I’ll show up!! Could be anywhere, anytime! LOL!
I’m slowly catching up on my toons! A weeks worth to read on four sites takes a while, but the one only has 4 comics on it, so…
Doc i knew you would be proud. lol
Shika they do that every time. dont show up till after breakfast is made. lol
Carmy glad your feeling better… dont over do it.
Rmom, Dry, Akenta, Cleo, josh, dawn, and jfri good morning and have a great day.
so i have to go walk and check on the chickens make sure the rest are still alive. :( and then i have to get some work done. i’ll be back in a little while… not parties while im gone… well one only if it is a search party for Rad find him and get his but back here.
Cleo, “break a leg” is reverse/superstitious well-wishing. THe idea is that by wishing something bad, the peversity of the powers-that-be will actually do something good for you, like helping make your performance stellar.
Messy eggs: open up the fridge, take two or three eggs, add some nice cheese (Gouda, Leiderkrantz, or whatever), a bit of onion, bell pepper, whatever in the veggie crisper looks good, and fry it all up. Yummmmmmy!
carmy I guess if I’m the only who isn’t getting your avatar, it must be on my end. All I get is an empty box, even when I click to look at your profile. Oh, well. Worse things have happened…
tabby sending them your way. I’ve got more bananas almost ripe enough to make another batch. They were on sale for 28 cents a pound, so I couldn’t resist.
I hesitate to introduce a forbidden subject, but it’s not arguing about religion so much as explaining religious terms. Shouldn’t be too controversial. Last night, there was some confusion about ministers at liturgies. For Catholics, the acolyte or altar server is one who helps the presider by preparing the altar, moving and holding books, and so on. The Eucharistic Minister is one commissioned to distribute communion; the ordinary Euch. ministers are priest, deacon, and an instituted alcolyte; extraordinary EMs are laity commissioned just for distributing communion, either in church or out, such as to shut-ins or nursing homes.
Bmonk that is just to confusing for my brain today. ours is simple we are all brothers and sisters in the Lord. we call the minister Brother Marshell or Paster Marshell. and the elders are brother kirk and sister Crystal…
@bmonk - I think it should be okay to explain religious terms, as long as we stay away from theology or a “mine is better than yours” comments. I don’t agree with the theology of any religion other than mine, but I find it very interesting to study the cultures/terms used of other religions. Of course, if the majority of our comments revolve around religion or poltics, it will cause trolls to come out of the woodwork.
so i will be checking on the chickens about every hour or so. i dont know what i will do if i find something attacking them. well scream for one thing but what else i dont know… i have to go do some things bbl
tabby Even though I’ve had a fair amount of experience with farm animals, my folks quit raising chickens before I came along. But from what I hear, geese are the ones that make great attack “dogs”. Did you tell the owner she has one less chicken? What happened to kill it? Was it salvageable to eat?
Good morning Tribe. Yes this group is squirrelly - such a bunch of Yappy Nuts.Carmy his panties are always in a knot.
The omelet sounds wonderful, Shika, with Berliner cheese, mushrooms, onions and red peppers. Of course they would be great additions to BMonk’s eggs as well.
Re: Da Strip* - I’d hate to be the one with the broken leg. Ouch! Yet another injury to Le Tribe?
RRAmom:* Your computer is WEIRD. You know that? Ha-Ha!
Carmy: I can see yuo from here, so you DO exist! Nice to know that you are not invisable, although if you are like me, you may FEEL invisable when no-one replys to your questions! : )
Rmom it looked as if it had been attacked by something. i had my dad take care of it for me. i couldn’t do it i scared of them evil things. lol i tried calling her about 30 min ago. no answer so i told her…. “hey its Tabby when you get a chance give me a call i have something to tell you about your chickens. I didnt want to bug you so you can call or I’ll tell you saturday when you get back.” and that is all. she hasnt called yet. :( i dont know what to do i feel as if im letting her down and i love her so much shes like a mom, sister, and best friend all in one. its great. so i hate to disappoint her.
Doc we sure did reach our goal. lol :D i dont know how we did it.
bmonk. Thanks for the clarification on acolytes. That’s what we were taught, but I also learned that each individual parish has it’s own terminology to some extent. So it is all “right” as long as those involved know what they are talking about. Not that I AM talking about anything that I’m not supposed to talk about, if you know what I mean, which I doubt!
Hey TABBY, throw some eggs to (not AT) Saucy so she can cook up a cheese ‘n onion ‘n bell pepper omelette. make it big, I have to garden this afternoon (carefully with my arm wrapped up.) RRAmom: Toss a bo’ nana muffin this way too, if you don’t mid. MUA get out of the way!
Cleo we also have the great weather. I just got in from refilling the hummingbird feeder. It is so warm here, they are emptying it almost daily - and it is a large feeder. It is high up so our feral cat can’t reach it. He (it ) has enough food with all the mice around here. He’s sleek and very canny.
Hey Joy, what cha’ been up to, gal? What do you mean, you’re surprised you have a social life? You and that pirate are always on the go! You two put the rest of us to shame. The only social life we all have is if you two invite the rest of us along, LOL!
Joy im glad you got out. did you have fun?
Shika dont cry it will ruin your eggs. :) if i ever ignore you just yell at me.
Dawn thanks she should understand she is a very understanding person.
im not allowed to go over to SOTU so what is going on? my moms wont let me.
JOY: Great to see you. What do you mean you were pleasantly surprised to have a social life? Well, I guess your time with Pirate isn’t social, in the strict sense of the word! Pretty private and plenty exciting I’d say! :D
RRAmom: I answered your question on SOTU about where the ear is from. It’s tame, so it shouldn’t cause anyone to tie their pantie/undies or skivvies on a knot!
Having a disinfectant shower before going out to get dirty in clean garden soil. (Compared to SOTU.)
I was mowing the front yard. It’s 91 degrees here! The front yard is small and there was a little breeze so it wasn’t too bad.
YES, I do know better than do visit the devil’s playground (AKA-SOTU). I have been disinfected. Hallelujah!
Dawn - my bird feeders are emptying quickly as well. Hummingbird feeders don’t work for us, maybe because we have so many flowering plants, but seed feeders are very popular.
tabby - Sounds like you couldn’t have done anything about the chicken that you haven’t already done. Hopefully, the owner will understand that as well. - Don’t worry about SOTU - just politics.
Shika - Of course my computer is weird! What other kind of computer could a weird person own?
Thanks for the info on the “ear” - I don’t make a habit of reading SOTU.
I hope I can throw the muffin all the way up to Canada - and I hope you’re good at one-handed catching. Good thing this is virtual food. (Well, in my case, it is real food delivered virtually.)
Yeah, Rmom and doc, that’s what I figured. And arguing about who’s right and wrong, that doesn’t get anyone convinced, so it’s worse than useless, unless someone wants to talk about it. But I figured that explaining terms was OK, as long as we didn’t go on and on about it.
@tabbylynn, just be glad you weren’t a shepherd back 1000 or 2000 years ago. Then the herder was responsible for any sheep that got eaten or lost. (Hence the foolishness of the “Good Shepherd” who not only lost a sheep, but went home and told everyone he’d lost it, while leaving the rest of the flock out to get themselves lost or killed!)
Bmonk i wouldn’t leave them unattended. i would stop a person on the road or bring them with me. lol thanks you made me feel better.
Carmy do you know the song “one life” Rmom may know it also. what do you think of that song?
yes i like TobyMac… i knew who sung it till you asked. lol i just looked it up its 33 miles. what is your fav. song by TobyMac? im reading a book by him and DCtalk right now.
tabby - I’m familiar with the song. I’m terrible on knowing who sings a song, unless I’ve watched them. Probably because on the radio they don’t always say who the artist is for each song - or at least not at the end when I would pay attention better.
I have’t heard that song by Mandissa… i can’t remember what songs i know by her. when i here them i know it. lol i love that song “made to love.” he has some great songs
rmom i have the same problem. i have to google them if i want to get the cd. lol
Cleo try a mix of 3 cu water to 1 cu sugar. That’s what they recommend around here and it really works. And apparently it doesn’t hurt the birds - they take as much as they need an no more.
RMom thanks for the muffin - yummy!
Joy I always scan the page - seems they say the same things day after day - I wonder if they just copy and paste old posts. It is frustrating yet mesmerizing! Also, I know what you mean about big cities. My hometown was 75 thou when I was young. Now it is over a million. I hate driving there now.
Shika I’m happy being a devoted servant to the tribe. As long as I’m not a slave (I am already a slave to this. *NO* I can get away from it any time I want..)
Dawn, the same thing happened to my hometown too. The first time I went back home, after being away for several years, it had changed so much. I thought I was in the wrong town.
when im finished cleaning i will check out that website. i have practiced some turns out its just the written one. :-( im ready for my license we have put it off long enough.
Dawn - Are you talking about Nanaimo when you refer to your hometown having over a million people? I haven’t been there in a number of years, but I could never imagine it being that big.
I prefer reading the comics in the newspapers, but a lot aren’t there, and I enjoy reading the comments, but lately I’ve barely had time to.
My back is better now, thank you. I should be able to go for a run today. 3 miles might be ambitious though. Hope your day is going well too.
Carmy and rmom the song by Mark schultz “Can you hear me” that song is the most touching song ever makes me cry every time i hear it. oh its just so beautiful. playing now. going sing my heart out and cry. bbl
Tabby, Mark Schultz has lots of really good songs. Did you cry when you heard “He Was Walking Her Home?”
I cried when the pastor and his wife sang “Remember Me” in our church in Texas.
Carmy, I cried like a baby when i heard “walking her home” i have that cd right here by me right now. you should get it some time the cd is called “broken and beautiful” they have the story behind “walking her home” it made me cry also.. “Remember me” is great also. I seem to cry on a lot of songs. they are just so touching.
heck only 10 min. bleeep i did good. its getting better and better every day.. let me tell you how stupid i look i had one some black and pink vans, khaki skirt, yellow shirt, and to top it all off my straw cow boy hat. lol i look so stupid. lol
tossed the corn in and walked in slowly with the food that i didnt even need. grabbed the eggs 10 today and got out. they are being nicer. maybe them loosing one of there own scared them. lol they think im going to kill them. lol that is bad.

CNN
JERUSALEM (CNN) – It was supposed to be a pleasant surprise, but turned into the shock of a lifetime.
A woman scours a garbage heap in Tel Aviv for her mother’s missing mattress.
A woman in Tel Aviv, Israel, gave her elderly mother a new mattress as a surprise gift, throwing out the old tattered bed her mother had slept on for decades. The gesture ended up bankrupting Annat’s mother, who had stuffed her savings of nearly $1 million inside her old bed for decades, Annat told Israel Army Radio.
A massive search is under way at the city dump, where security has been beefed up to keep out treasure-seekers who have heard Annat’s story in Israeli media.
Annat, who did not want to reveal the rest of her name, told Israel Army Radio that she woke up early Sunday to get a good deal on a new mattress as a surprise for her mother.
Sound off: Which bizarre places have you hidden money?
She fell asleep that night, exhausted after lugging up the new mattress and hauling down the old one to be taken out with the trash.
When her mother realized the next day what her daughter had done, she told her that she had been using the mattress to stash away her life savings and had nearly $1 million padding the inside of the worn-out mattress.
Annat ran downstairs, but it was too late. The garbage truck had already taken away the money-stuffed mattress.
Annat alerted the two major dump sites in the Israeli city in an effort to locate the bed, but so far she has had no luck. Yitchak Burba, one of the dump site managers, told Army Radio that he and his men are working relentlessly to try to help Annat find the million-dollar mattress among the tons of garbage at the landfill.
The publicity has triggered a wave of people also trying to find the mattress and its contents for themselves. Burba has increased security around the dump to keep them out.
Annat told Army Radio that when her mother realized her queen-sized bank had been tossed, she told her to “‘leave it.’”
“‘The heart is crying but you know we could have been in a car accident or had a terminal disease,’” Annat said her mother told her.
Annat is also taking the situation in stride.
“It’s a very, very sad story but I’ve been through worse,” she told Army Radio. “It’s a matter of proportions in life … people need to know how to accept the good and the bad in life.”
tabby - I read that news article too. I think that the mom should have trusted her daughter enough to at least let her know that she was using the mattress as a bank. Maybe not how much, but at least told the daughter enough to prevent this from happening. What would have happened if the mom had died, had a stroke or something else suddenly that would have prevented her from sharing the info before it was too late?
Bmonk they need to add chickens…. speaking of spiders i just killed one that was on me from the chicken house…. now i feel like they are crawling all over me.. I HATE SPIDERS!!!!!
Rmom maybe it was in her will but that is so not smart. people do crazy things.
@tabby, even in her will might be too late. What if they had “cleaned house” before they had the reading of the will? And ditto for instructions about your funeral: worst place is in your will, since it’s usually only read after the funeral.
back. I dont like the chalk thing either oh it kills my teeth and head and everythig hurts. oh and those little pics that change when you move them… if u scratch that its worse then chalk for me… oh my teeth just hurt thinking about it.
Thanks Marg, I think her paintings are very lovely. A long time ago, when I was a child. We had a board game called Masterpiece. It had several post card sized famous paintings. One of them was a mother and her daughter, the mother was washing her daughter’s feet in a small basin. I always loved that picture. I just recently found out that Cassat was the artist. I thought that was pretty cool.
my cow boy hat has been stolen. some child in a blue and white dress with black hair a nice tan and brown shoes and dark brown eyes is running away with it…
Hi Akenta, that is so cool that you played Masterpiece too. I didn’t learn the artists either, but I remembered some of the paintings and then learned more about them.
Run, Tabby, Run!
Dry, I can’t even help my oldest daughter with the driving. My husband is does. I am able to give her helpful hints when I’m driving though. Like, see the walk signal is blinking, that means the light ahead will be turning yellow and then red. Also, pass on the right because the idiot doing 30 in a 45 zone is staying in that lane because his left turn is coming up in 2 miles.
Cleo my home town is Calgary. Nanaimo is now about the size Calgary was when I was a kid. We live south of it so have to drive the highway to get to town. Still not as bad as Calgary though.
Dawn - Glad that Nanaimo isn’t over a million people. LOL I used to like approaching Calgary from the east and see the mountains off in the distance. As a kid, I would be amazed at how long it took for us to reach them. They were so high it seemed to take forever to reach them. I love the beauty of Banff and the drive up to Jasper.
Well all, my chores are done and I have made another batch of Italian Semolina bread. Cooler weather and rain are in our forecast. That doesn’t appeal to me, but no watering of plants does. That said, there is only a possibility of showers. Usually around here that is an almost certainty of rain, but this spring is not the usual spring.
100 degrees in Texas can feel very miserable if you happen to be in Houston where there is so much humidity. Down in Edcouch, where I used to spend the winters, the humidity was not so bad, but 100 anywhere is pretty intense.
Carmy: I think you are right about Bob Marley, but marvin Gaye also sang it. Ever heard him sing? We have a street near by called Marlee Ave., ‘cept everyone calls it Bob Marlee Ave., because it is close to Little Jamaica.
My arm is much better thank you, thanks to all your prayers, good wishes and the Tribel bank. Boy, hope our bank never goes belly up!
Carmy, Nanaimo was named for the Coast Salish people whose name was Snuneymuxw (Snuh-NAY-moo). They were the original inhabitants. A lot of the names here are either Coast Salish or very British (Victoria)
G’night JDoc
Shika, Nanaimo bars did come from Nanaimo -or at least are named for it. It’s a great place to live!
Thanks for ‘splanation Dawn.Shika, no, I haven’t heard Marvin Gaye sing One Love but, I’m sure he did a great version. I have heard several Marvin Gaye songs. At one time I really liked Sexual Healing.
okay im back. may not post much more tonight. im just not in the mood to do anything at all anymore. im down. if i dont come back tonight peace and love all.

And it’s computer share time, unfortunately! BBL to see who has added to the movie list!
And I’ll take 2 enchiladas with LOTS of jalapenos!!
I finished watching the dance show - it’s going to be a great season - they are all so talented. Of course now it’s past my bedtime.
My other monitor died on me tonight, so I just ordered a new one (have to be able to do both my addictions) So because of that, I can only raise the bet to $3
BBL Tribe. Mua is looking forlorn on the couch because I spend more time with you guys than with him these days. I’m going to sit with him and hold his paw….
Carmy, I am going to have to get off, but I too, LOVED Cary Grant, and WILLIAM POWELL AND MYRNA LOYE IN THE THIN MAN MOVIES!! Great stuff, that! And I LOVE LUCY!! Best comedy show ever made!!!
Well everyone. Now I’m too relaxed to stay up. Pets do that to you. Let me know who wins the bet.
$3.75 –1, 2, 3….
Good night! Have fun at the movies.
I LOVE Lucy too! And Cary Grant. And for some reason, I had a crush on George Peppard when I was a teen ager or so. I think it was Patton or some war movie like that. Lord, I fell hard for him.
Okay, now I’m going to bed, to sleep, perchance to dream….
Yes Quilgley Down Under, Tom Selleck LOVE him! “Magnum PI”! One of my favorite shows of all time!
Dirty Harry with Clint Eastwood! Oh yea!
Dr. Zhivago, never saw it! I like mushy love stories, but actually I’m more into the action stuff! Mel Gibson and the Leathel Weapon series, and Bruce Willis and the Diehard movies, especially the first one!
Goodnight Shika!
Hello JFri! I like Quigley Down Under and Dirty Harry too. Dr. Zhivago was too long for me.
Cleo, I like all the movies you posted. What about Key Largo? I like Edward G. Robinson. He was great in the Ten Commandments too.
So I have heard from Tabby and she is okay. She is a bit upset about the lady for whom she is chicken-sitting. Just send Tabby some good thoughts and energy.
Now, it’s time for me to go to bed. You all have fun. Think of some more cool movies and I’ll read your posts in the morning. Good Night!
Ooh. The Sons of Katie Elder is a good one. A very young Dennis Hopper comes out in that one.
Okay, i’m outta here.
Driving to Spokane and measuring apprentice linemen for pole climbing gear and back home, stopping at Benton County PUD & Othello Fire Dept. on the way up. Fitting session runs from 2:00 ‘til 6:00 and I MUST be back Friday AM for another appointment.
carmy, The Sons of Katie Elder!! Loved that! And Rio Lobo and Rio Bravo, and She Wore a Yellow Ribbon and on and on!! And not a western but “The Quiet Man”. John Wayne and Maureen O’Hara made some ot the best movies! She is truly a classy lady! Actresses today can’t hold a candle to the likes of her, Kate Hepburn, Myrna Loy, Lucille Ball, Bette Davis, Jane Wyman, etc, etc,
Hi people - Good to see everyone is doing well. Sorry for causing any undue concern. I’ve been sort occupied elsewhere than on the toon scene lately. since being unemployed, I’m doing the Resume Tango making calls and emailing everyone I can think of. I was told I was wasting too much time playing with comics and I’ve been feeling sorta useless lately.
Thanks for the calls, I’m OK. I’ll just be occupied elsewhere for awhile till this economy gets straightened out and I can get resettled again.

Eggs? I’m good at making omelets. What’s your pleasure for the insides?
bmonk over 15 years ago
Cleo, “break a leg” is reverse/superstitious well-wishing. THe idea is that by wishing something bad, the peversity of the powers-that-be will actually do something good for you, like helping make your performance stellar.
Messy eggs: open up the fridge, take two or three eggs, add some nice cheese (Gouda, Leiderkrantz, or whatever), a bit of onion, bell pepper, whatever in the veggie crisper looks good, and fry it all up. Yummmmmmy!

“Hey - LE-LEGGO MY LE-LEGGO!!!”
bmonk over 15 years ago
I hesitate to introduce a forbidden subject, but it’s not arguing about religion so much as explaining religious terms. Shouldn’t be too controversial. Last night, there was some confusion about ministers at liturgies. For Catholics, the acolyte or altar server is one who helps the presider by preparing the altar, moving and holding books, and so on. The Eucharistic Minister is one commissioned to distribute communion; the ordinary Euch. ministers are priest, deacon, and an instituted alcolyte; extraordinary EMs are laity commissioned just for distributing communion, either in church or out, such as to shut-ins or nursing homes.
tabbylynn over 15 years ago
Bmonk that is just to confusing for my brain today. ours is simple we are all brothers and sisters in the Lord. we call the minister Brother Marshell or Paster Marshell. and the elders are brother kirk and sister Crystal…
okay i quit. sorry guys.
Smiley Rmom over 15 years ago
@bmonk - I think it should be okay to explain religious terms, as long as we stay away from theology or a “mine is better than yours” comments. I don’t agree with the theology of any religion other than mine, but I find it very interesting to study the cultures/terms used of other religions. Of course, if the majority of our comments revolve around religion or poltics, it will cause trolls to come out of the woodwork.

Tel Aviv search for mattress containing $1M life savingsStory Highlights •Israeli woman loses $1M as daughter dumps mattress containing life savings
•Security increased at city dump in Tel Aviv as search under way for mattress
•Publicity has triggered wave of people trying to find mattress and its contents updated 4 hours, 47 minutes agoNext Article in World » By Shira Medding CNN JERUSALEM (CNN) – It was supposed to be a pleasant surprise, but turned into the shock of a lifetime.
“It’s a matter of proportions in life … people need to know how to accept the good and the bad in life.”
wow is all i can say.

carmy over 15 years ago
Shika, I think Bob Marley wrote One Love.
cleokaya over 15 years ago

Thanks for ‘splanation Dawn. Shika, no, I haven’t heard Marvin Gaye sing One Love but, I’m sure he did a great version. I have heard several Marvin Gaye songs. At one time I really liked Sexual Healing.

I finished watching the dance show - it’s going to be a great season - they are all so talented. Of course now it’s past my bedtime.
My other monitor died on me tonight, so I just ordered a new one (have to be able to do both my addictions) So because of that, I can only raise the bet to $3
Everyone have a good night and stay safe!!

The Duke 1 over 15 years ago
cleo yeah, splicing eyes in various types of rope & splicing two pieces together.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Yes Quilgley Down Under, Tom Selleck LOVE him! “Magnum PI”! One of my favorite shows of all time! Dirty Harry with Clint Eastwood! Oh yea! Dr. Zhivago, never saw it! I like mushy love stories, but actually I’m more into the action stuff! Mel Gibson and the Leathel Weapon series, and Bruce Willis and the Diehard movies, especially the first one!
cleokaya over 15 years ago
So, your long day tomorrow, will be spent doing what?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
cleo, Never saw the Reader, although the name rings a bell! what is it about and who is in it?
carmy over 15 years ago
Okay, i’m outta here.

carmy, The Sons of Katie Elder!!

Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Well I must be going to sleep too! Don’t forget guys, its past midnight where I am and I have to get up at 7.
