so i like the ta-by or not ta-by thing lol that was just great.
Carmy im losing my mind. i ran three house holds yesterday. im wiped out. lets see ill relate my day….
Got up at 6:50 because Mrs. Sherrie called me to tell me something. i went over to see what she wanted and tell her hi and bye b4 work. got back home about 7:18 or so washed dishes started landury and started room (never fin room) went get the oldest kid i babysit. drove to school b4 washing the car. washed my grandmaws car, my nanny/godmother’s car, her boyfriends truck, played with kids for a while cooked supper for home. when mrs. sherrie got hom i brough the oldest home to her. fed and bathed the baby sent her to bed. tucked her in kind of. lol :) fed the baby supper first was snack her is a hungry little thing today. bathed the middle took care of them got them pretty much settled. went check on her, she was burning up when i left her so im worrried sick about her. :( told her i loved her tucked her in again. got the dog and kid out from the room. left the kids in the care of there great grandparents. then came home got my dad and bro to eat supper, went to deal with ana. fed her, gave her a bath, fixed her hair so cute, then watched tv with her. had 2 hour conversation with her mom my godmother. now home and have not cleaned kitchen tonight will do it when i get up at 7 in the morning. oh and sheets are in ther dryer for my bed… not going fight to get them going to bed with only a blanket. lol so my day was long and whats funny is that i still cant sleep. something is wrong with me……
okay so you guys did not need to know all of that or want to know all that i know…. sorry, but feel better now.
okay you guys im going to call it a day/night/whatever. im going to bed. i hope you all have a great day today. Happy Wednesday to all. sleep well peace and love to you.
I’m impressed, Firefox actually saved what I started to type. I get nervous when my cat walks behind my computer and then on top of my surge protector that my computer is plugged into. Always am afraid he’s going to shut it off, and this morning he did. He woke me up at 3:30 this morning, so I’m still kind of tired. dry you may miss stuff, but not as much as i do.
I was awoken by mrs. sherrie again this morning she still feels bad her head hurts still so she called me to help her. that is when you know it is bad when she asks for help. :( i just pray it gets better soon. also i will have to start setting my alarm for 5:30 so she feels less bad if she wakes me.
well off to start my day lots of stuff to do befor wrok today. bbl peace and love all..
oh Joy hope you got some sleep. Dry i understand what you mean about sleep on things on your brain. Akenta have a good day at work… tell my little boy kitty to behave. lol
Good morning everybody. I just got home a short time ago so I thought I would drop by to see what’s going on. Is there any breakfast left? I brought some warm cinnamon sticky buns for anyone with a sweet tooth today.
I was reading yesterdays posts about giving nutty names to everyone. Great idea. I don’t think Serena lends itself to a nutty name. Maybe I could just be the sane and sensible one that anchors the group??
It was just an idea.
Sorry Doc, but there is no cure for Canadianism.
I’ll just sneak away quietly.
He killed Potato Head Joe! You bastar… Never mind, wrong comedy.
Morning, all! Thanks for the chat last night, this morning, Carmy, Dawn & Cleo . I enjoyed it. Stacation or not…RL beckons for the day so may see you later. P&L all!
Akenta- I never make a resolution, if I know for certain that I can’t keep it. LOL
Dry - I have nights like yours quite often. Most recently two nights ago. My brain won’t shut down and I keep going over things that I either need to do or things that are bothering me.
cleo, that is the pits!! Mine is usually from worrying about things. I try to clear my head, sometimes it works, most times not! I almost got up last night to get on here and see what was up. Probably should have, it would have been more productive than laying there wide awake! LOL
Morning, tribe.
cleo - Thanks for thinking of me last night. I don’t know that it works with both R’s, but I R A Nut - maybe I R Really A Nut. So, it’s bad grammar, but this isn’t for a grade - is it? My husband is also a nut, according to my mom. She said I’d either marry someone who’s crazy, or I’d make them that way. I think life is more enjoyable if one doesn’t take herself/himself too seriously.
tabby - I’m fine. Just sewing & other RL activities which are difficult to do sitting at the computer. Sorry to hear about your busted lip! I hope it wasn’t bad enough to need stitches?
doc - Good morning - I think. I’m not fully awake yet.
“He who can laugh at himself will never cease to be amused.”
doctortoon -Good Morning to you too, sir. I think your idea of a comic of us is a good one. We could all be stranded on a desert island. “The Tribe”, or “The Tribe Of Yappy Nuts”. I suppose in order to get published I would probably have to be drawn with a fig leaf. DRAT!!!
@cleo, wouldn’t it depend on how many strategically placed bushes there were? I think Mythtickle got by with that some years back when Adam and Eve were looking into a computer…
I am getting to do things i love and enjoy but it consist of work so im lost. lol i love to be with kids and with my friends.
oh i got on here to report that i have broken my new years resulation. :( well at least i made it to june. lol i was planing on not moving my room aroung again till next year. i do it severl times a year. and its hard on me. i move my huge queen size bed and heave mettle fram by myself and my dresser and old dreser thing that is like a “beauty table” i dont use it but to hold my radio and other junk. lol okay now back to work if i could just stay away. but i miss you guys. lol
oh the lip dosent need stiches my mouth just hit ana’s knee when i was tickling her. lol i got what i deserved poor baby was being torucherd. lol (sp and sp check is down. )
bmonk - I’ve heard that saying and like it, but there’s too many people who would vouch that I was that way before I became a mom. Although, a touch of insanity is a basic requirement to be a homeschool mom. It really helps to be a little crazy when you are around your kids 24/7 for years AND trying to teach them what they need to know.
Of course, Rmom, kids only put the finishing touches on a properly aged fine and glorious insanity. But it’s still better to blame them than to admit the alternative, that I myself nurtured this craziness to it’s present extreme.
so no one has said anything about my pic…. if so i skiped over it and did not see. im almost fin my room. i have my dresser left to redo and some things to find places for. then ill take a late lunch break and relax for a little while and cook supper.
WooHoo! An exciting morning of jumping out of bucket trucks and “falling” off utility poles! Tool demos for self rescue & wood pole fall arrest apparatus! And they say I’m
JFri and Cleo, you would have loved to have been in my office this day. Our Waterways Conservation Officer and our DCNR Officer were here. They had some great trout strocking tales and bear tales. You guys would have laughed your A@@@@ off!
Hello again everyone. I just off loaded a yard of fertile mulch in the rain and hulled and froze a flat of strawberries. We have gotten some rain today, but even though there isn’t any blue sky out there it is brightening up and I wonder if it will clear. That has been the pattern for over a month. I can not remember the last time we had a full day of clouds.
cleo, out here on the West Dakota tundra, the song really is true: “…and the skies are not cloudy all day!” On the other hand, I have yet to see any deer and antelope play…
finished. all im doing now is wating on the veggies to cook. everything is done till people get home. oh and the clothes to fin. so what is going on? how are you all?
@johnnydoc, you should do as some do: work fascinates them. They can watch it all day.
And then there was the guy who didn’t mind hearing a lawnmower at 6:00 a.m. on Saturday. It meant that someone was working hard very early–and it wasn’t him…
bmonk - I don’t like watching my wife work because it makes me feel guilty that I am not also working. She is like a machine, whereas I can do just fine doing the bare minimum.
I just think she is overdoing it, bmonk, perhaps it is because I am already exhausted, but I don’t quite understand your comment to me.
Care to explain to a slower mind?
It’s what people say when they are watching other people work. It’s a lot less exhausting when you don’t have to do it yourself. But leads to more guilt, as doc mentioned.
Or maybe it’s just my mind running across several intuitive leaps and not making a lot of sense. It happens to me on occasion.
Work wasn’t too bad. We’re about to hit the summer slowdown, so hopefully, I’ll be able to catch up and then get a little ahead where I like to be.
johnnyd I agree, I think tabby should try and relax a bit, but I don’t think it’s in her nature. I know several people that are always on the go and having to do somehing. And yes, it tires me out too :-)
Thanks bmonk, I get it now, bear with me folks my brain is working in a 36 hour world.
Hi Dry, my day was long, and hot, how was yours?
Hi Akenta, how was your day?
johnny, interesting. Spent the morning listening to trout stocking stories that went totally awry and bear tales by two conservation officers from our sister agency! And the best part, these guys when they tell a story are hilarious!! They would fit with OUR TRIBE quite well!
What do you do johnny, if I may ask. You may have said, but I missed it.
I love the heat! 90 here and I’m lovin’ it!
Cleo, our computer guy who does our maintenance periodically when needed, is 60 and getting ready to retire from his job, he’s one of those that ties into computers all over the country to fix them and mostly works from home. Well he was working on my computer one day and saw my bookmark for here, LOL he never comments but that’s the first thing he does in the morning is come to this site! I told him my screen name, don’t know if he’s checked it out yet or not!
Dry - Everyone I tell about this posting I do at gocomics, either politely smiles ( I can tell they think I’m a nut) or seems like I am wasting my time.
Work in a factory, it is a summer job, it pays well, but the hours are many and early, and like I said, it is HOT. (for me anyway) I don’t like the heat, anything over 70 is too warm for me!
johnny oh yea, you’re a college student, forgot about that! I have a son starting college soon. He works in a hot spot too, fast food kitchen as a cook!
cleo, I only told him because he’s a comic freak too, My co-workers know I read the comics but not that I do this. Although, they must wonder sometimes when they hear me tippy tapping away or LOL! I am lucky, our office is very laid back and we get our jobs done, having a lot of fun along the way!
Dry - I can tell my wife gets a bit irritated that I spend so much time doing this, but we are very different in some ways. She is driven and is constantly doing things, whereas I can take time to just read a book or do this, she instead works while listening to books or podcasts on her ipod.
Dry - I doubt it will ever come to anything so drastic. it is kind of a balancing act, doing what I can to get jobs done that she thinks I should do and interacting here with my friends. We do okay. For two people who have big differences, we are on the same page with the things that matter most.
Cleo love your new avatar. I get a kick out of the way it can change right when I’m reading the comments.
I know, small things amuse small minds.
I told one of my coworkers that I like to read comics. He just smiled politely but I noticed that he was peeking at the comics pages as well. I used to read a lot of comic books when I was a kid but then I sort of grew away from them. When my son was old enough I started reading them with him. Now he’s grown up and I still like to read comics both books and strips. I’ve heard that if you leave comics and then come back, you’re hooked for life. HELP!!!!!!!!!
johnny, knowing how hard my other son studied at Cornell, I know! But don’t overdo what you can do, if you know what I’m saying! Don’t try for perfection! But there again, he graduated Magna C u m Laude!
Doc I was just rereading some of the earlier post about your nuttifying my name. Serenut? Serenut eh? Serenuta? I like it but I still think there should be at least one sane and sensible member of the group just for contrast.
serena- If there was one sane, sensible member of the group, that one person would be gone quickly. But, if you insist, how about seresan. You have part of your name and part of sane.
I will try to post as I cook this chicken, but if I disappear you know why.
Dry, isn’t it a shame that Latin has been corrupted by English (c u m). It means with, and it bothers me that it means something else.
Cornell, that is very impressive, congrats to your son. I am a year and a half from graduating Michigan. (Won’t be magna c u m anything, but I will be happy with it.) College hasn’t been good to me, but I finally figured it out. Now I recover and rebuild.
carmy - Thank you, I will have it for lunch tomorrow. We love Mexican food and make it at very least once a week. My wife makes her lunch Mexican probably 5 times a week. We have a huge supply of corn tortillas on hand all of the time.
johnny, thank you. I will tell my son you said that. He checks in here from time to time to see what his mom is up to! My sons are cool with this, I guess they didn’t realize their mom could be cool! LOL
He also graduated 5th in his class in high school out of 200+ students in that class. He worked hard, and if he got so much as a B he wasn’t happy! When he got to college he discovered a B was okay, especially in an Ivy League school. :-)
Cleo,I wish I had known you were hulling and freezing strawberries. I would have had you do ours!
Hi everyone. You really are Yappy Nuts. I finally caught up from this morning. Now I have to go to make supper and you will probably have finisihed another three or four pages.
Cleo watch out for fig leaves. We were told deer wouldn’t eat them because the leaves can irritate and cause a bad rash. Mind you, our deer didn’t seem to mind as they ate all the leaves!
Your welcome Dry, I graduated 13 out 150 plus at my high school, but that is all because of a bad senior year, I slacked off way too much and lost 3 or 4 spots. I had never seen a C before that. I have just started to get out of that funk.
Doc, I can sympathize with your situation, my brother works the graveyard shift at the local grocery store. He is just now getting up, and I am now heading to bed.
JFri, I’m sending a plate over for you too. :)
jdoc, I think it’s great that you have learned how to handle the college life and did not give up as some people do.
Thank you CarmyJFri, I have been hunting a few times, don’t have a permit, but will be getting one next month I think. No, I didn’t shoot without a license, I was just along for the ride.
Doc, yes he is a stocker. A pretty good one too, because he keeps getting more hours, I almost never see him, and I share a room with him right now.
Dry, I am studying Biology in pursuit of a career as a Physicians Assistant. PA’s are almost doctors, make good money, there is a HUGE demand for them, and it is much less schooling. I think it is a good start, and sometime in the future I will go back to school and get the medical degree.
On that happy note, I must go to bed, GOOD NIGHT ALL.
Good night johnny- Sorry I missed you. I know that college is hard, and it doesn’t get any easier the second time around. We have some in our classes your age, and then the ages range up to, well- retired! And I’m not talking 55 retirement. Here it is 65. Although that’s pretty late to earn a Master’s Degree.
I think you are doing really well, and I like your foresight to plan for medical school too if you decide to go that route.
Dry- Your work sounds like it’s fun. I love it when you have time to chat and trade stories. I used to get into trouble for listening to too many stories- or telling them. But my best clients liked my sense of humour, so there you go.
Cleo How about your cape and boots? You could strip those. And in the strip about us, I think we were going to arrange to place bushes strategically around for you.
Although, a bush may look funny indoors, if we ever go inside!
Thanks for the hug carmy! ((((carmy)))) right back!
Dry I remember Red Green–Fishing guy, wasn’t he? I loved his show too, when I could catch it.
We had a Travel guy named Bill Bramha from Georgian Bay who wrote columns on Ontario and the rest of Canada. He travelled all over, something like cleo I think there was also a book, “Bill’s Ontario” or something like that. In fact we once had the book.
shika, sometimes the link works and soemtimes it doesn’t! It’s funnier in color though!
I take it you saw it JFri? Yuk, Yuk, Yuk!
carmy, There was one strip from a while back I have laminated and stuck on my fridge where he finds his old swagger stick and remarks to himself how he used to get a lot of respect with that stick. He taps his wife on the shoulder with it and says “I’ll have my dinner now!” She breaks it over his head and in the last panel he says, “These sticks lose their effectiveness after awhile! ” Yeah pal, they sure do!! :=D
shika, “Red Green” was a comedy show filmed in Ontario. Hilarious! Possum Lodge ring a bell? Red Green was Steve Smith who wrote and starred in the show. It was filmed in Toronto.
Dry Possum Lodge indeed rings a bell. I guess I just though it was a fishing show. My mom watched it more than I did. I think I was either in university or working, but I remember the show being on in the afternoon at the time. I know it was funny!
Dry, I loved Red Green - especially his repairs. He repaired everything and made everything with duct tape, Shika.”If women don’t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.” was his saying and he finished with the man’s prayer. I think it is playing on PBS now.
doctortoon - May your work day be short and hairy. Oh… that’s not quite right. is it? May your work day be short and Larry. Nope, may your work day be short and scary. Oh, may your work day be short and merry.
Akenta and jdoc sorry i have been working so much and making you guys tired. i just have things to do and i have to get them done. im so tired right now its crazy. tomorrow all i have to do is babysit and cook supper so that is what im going to do eat, sleep, read, babysit and be happy. lol that probably wont happen. but ill try. :D
okay you guys and gals. im calling it a night. im so tired i can barely keep my eyes open. i have to get up at 5:30 tomorrow so i need sleep. peace and love all i will try to get on here sometimes tomorrow no promises. love you all.
Dawn it used to be on PBS here, but hasn’t been for awhile. But it may be back, they usually rotate. Right now we have “Are You Being Served”,” Last of the Summer Wine”, “As Time Goes By”, and “Keeping Up Appearances” all British. GREAT STUFF! Can watch them all a hundred times over and still laugh!
OH and I loved Harold on Red Green! What a hoot! “Uncle Red, Uncle Red”,
Dry, I love every one of those! Have you seen “Waiting for God?” Another good one. And “Doc Martin?” It’s a newer one but very entertaining. If you have a chance, you should watch them.
dawn Waiting for God, Oh yes! Never heard of Doc Martin, that hasn’t been down here. What about “Allo”Allo, Good neighbors, To The Manor Born, The Iriish RM, Yes, Minister?
You know, I think gmartin is longing to be one of the Tribe. gmartin, join us. Instead of mocking us you can have friends who actually care about you, who worry about you and who talk to you. If you knock that, then you are missing the boat my friend.
carmy, yes, but I couldn’t because the page numbers went directly to the bottom of the comment section. I put the cursor over that edit spot and nothing happened. It’s still there, i refreshed and everything!
dawn, yes do look them up! I think you will definately enjoy Good Neighbours”! The man, was it Peter Boyle, who was in To the Manor Born and Rumpole plays the Irish RM. That is also a comedy as is Good Neighbors. Good Neighbors has Penelope Keith and ,( it’s late, my mind is getting fuzzy) , the actor who played the Minister as the married neighbors of the young couple who set out to farming in the suburbs. It’s great and tmr. morning after a nights sleep I could give you all their names off the top of my head! LOL
Dry, I guess that’s a glitch then. The odds are in your favor of that not happening again to you.
cleo, that’s a very nice gesture. I didn’t even think of that.
Well as Marg said, it is the witching hour, To stay and try for first a second time, or to sleep, per chance to dream, work tmr. dilemmas dilemmas! Who would like to be my proxy for the turnover?? LOL
Well common sense tells me to go to bed, and since JFri has disappeared and carmy is getting ready to nod, I’ll leave it to dawn and cleo to shoot for first
Dry - You are taking the easy way out. Dawn is over fifteen minutes out on her post. I could pump you up for another victory, but … oh well, beddy by comes first.

bmonk - I’ve heard that saying and like it, but there’s too many people who would vouch that I was that way before I became a mom. Although, a touch of insanity is a basic requirement to be a homeschool mom. It really helps to be a little crazy when you are around your kids 24/7 for years AND trying to teach them what they need to know.

bmonk - Good idea. Fig leaves are so d@rn itchy.

Of course, Rmom, kids only put the finishing touches on a properly aged fine and glorious insanity. But it’s still better to blame them than to admit the alternative, that I myself nurtured this craziness to it’s present extreme.

Hello again everyone. I just off loaded a yard of fertile mulch in the rain and hulled and froze a flat of strawberries. We have gotten some rain today, but even though there isn’t any blue sky out there it is brightening up and I wonder if it will clear. That has been the pattern for over a month. I can not remember the last time we had a full day of clouds.

bmonk - I don’t like watching my wife work because it makes me feel guilty that I am not also working. She is like a machine, whereas I can do just fine doing the bare minimum.
bmonk over 15 years ago
@cleo, ROFL: you need to get your wife to do (or is that wear?) the bare minimum. Then it will be that much more enticing to watch her…
johnnydoc5 over 15 years ago
I just think she is overdoing it, bmonk, perhaps it is because I am already exhausted, but I don’t quite understand your comment to me. Care to explain to a slower mind?
bmonk over 15 years ago
It’s what people say when they are watching other people work. It’s a lot less exhausting when you don’t have to do it yourself. But leads to more guilt, as doc mentioned.
Or maybe it’s just my mind running across several intuitive leaps and not making a lot of sense. It happens to me on occasion.
cleokaya over 15 years ago
bmonk -Yes, I like it when she wears the bare minimum. I can not get her to slow down though. She is a woman with a constant mission.
Akenta over 15 years ago
Work wasn’t too bad. We’re about to hit the summer slowdown, so hopefully, I’ll be able to catch up and then get a little ahead where I like to be.

cleokaya over 15 years ago
Dry - I can tell my wife gets a bit irritated that I spend so much time doing this, but we are very different in some ways. She is driven and is constantly doing things, whereas I can take time to just read a book or do this, she instead works while listening to books or podcasts on her ipod.

Dry, yes I did! How could you tell?

Okay. Encore.
Dry Possum Lodge indeed rings a bell. I guess I just though it was a fishing show. My mom watched it more than I did. I think I was either in university or working, but I remember the show being on in the afternoon at the time. I know it was funny!

Thanks Dry Now I can sleep. After I duct tape my bed together. LOL
Goo’ night all! (Yawn and stretch…….) See you in the morning.

JFri, is that big O supposed to be your brain? LOL better downsize it a little!!!! :-D
DawnAvril over 15 years ago
Dry, I loved Red Green - especially his repairs. He repaired everything and made everything with duct tape, Shika. ”If women don’t find you handsome, they should at least find you handy.” was his saying and he finished with the man’s prayer. I think it is playing on PBS now.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
shika if you do duct tape it, it should hold together for a VERY long time, LOL!
cleokaya over 15 years ago
Shika - Furry Cleo is fine. I am kind of furry myself, so i am fine too.

Goodnight Tabby! I hope you have a nice peaceful sleep and that 5:30 am takes it time getting there for you. :)

JFri Read my lips, well envision it!
NODawnAvril over 15 years ago
Dry, I love every one of those! Have you seen “Waiting for God?” Another good one. And “Doc Martin?” It’s a newer one but very entertaining. If you have a chance, you should watch them.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Anybody else have the page number showing at the end of my comment or is it just on my computer?
Anyway, that was supposed to be a big large NO!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Well its messed up again!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
dawn Waiting for God, Oh yes! Never heard of Doc Martin, that hasn’t been down here. What about “Allo”Allo, Good neighbors, To The Manor Born, The Iriish RM, Yes, Minister?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
carmy and JFri, page numbers at the end of my no post so I cant’ make the no big? WAKE UP! Is it just on my ‘puter? :-D
carmy over 15 years ago
gmartin, actually our record is about 500.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
gmartin, carmy’s right!
carmy over 15 years ago
Dry, the end of the page thing sounds odd. Did you try to “edit” it?
DawnAvril over 15 years ago
Dry, “Yes Minister” and “Yes Prime Minister” - my absolute faves. Don’t know “”Good Neighbours” or the “”Irish RM” Will have to look them up.
cleokaya over 15 years ago
You know, I think gmartin is longing to be one of the Tribe. gmartin, join us. Instead of mocking us you can have friends who actually care about you, who worry about you and who talk to you. If you knock that, then you are missing the boat my friend.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
carmy, yes, but I couldn’t because the page numbers went directly to the bottom of the comment section. I put the cursor over that edit spot and nothing happened. It’s still there, i refreshed and everything!

‘Pecan pie’ here. Just about the witching hour, and I’m off to make my nightly rounds. If you’re going to bed, have a good night.
cleokaya over 15 years ago
Ah, my paradise. Being surrounded by beautiful women. What more could a man want. Sigh.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
dawn, yes do look them up! LOL
carmy over 15 years ago
Dry, I guess that’s a glitch then. The odds are in your favor of that not happening again to you. cleo, that’s a very nice gesture. I didn’t even think of that.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 15 years ago
Well as Marg said, it is the witching hour, To stay and try for first a second time, or to sleep, per chance to dream, work tmr. dilemmas dilemmas! Who would like to be my proxy for the turnover?? LOL
carmy over 15 years ago
Hi Marg! I will be going to bed very soon, my eyelids are getting very heavy. cleo, I love your sense of humor!
