Hey, good evening hymenoxis. Don’t you ever let up on the cleaning? Well, it’s a good thing you are around otherwise the Big Top would be a pig sty. How was your day?
For those who are willing, I will prepare eggs. You may have them in any manner you choose, so long as it is scrambled. In addition, there will be bacon, a locally produced thick-cut brand known for its thickness and locality, some Jimmy Dean sausage (the kind with sage in it), biscuits and white gravy made from the fat of the sausage, liberally peppered and salted, grits prpared properly, and some cantaloupes that might be a bit over-ripe. They’re certainly fragrant.
Wifey Bits and I have planned a trip up the Shenandoah Valley to Gettysburg on a Civil War battlefields tour. Sounds geeky, frankly; but it’s something I need to do. I’m watching Ken Burns “Civil War” for the twelfth time…it seems like something that needs to be done. A sort of American Hadj, I guess.
We’ve got 9 teams in the league, but we need to have an even number to start the draft. Can I get one more tribe member to volunteer? JFri?
If not, I’ll open it up to the public and see what poor soul wanders in.
For those worried about the time it might take out of your yapping here, I looked into it more, and I do have some power to make sure a team is taken care of if a manager is on vacation (or attending to more important RL issues). I’m hoping lonewolf and johnnyd will help keep an eye on some of the teams and let the manager (or me) know if something should be changed before game day.
That’s the best attempt I can make at selling this. Let me know if you’re interested and I’ll lock the league this weekend.
I have a brake job scheduled this morning, league pool this afternoon and my son’s football game at 5:30PM, so I probably won’t be back on until this evening. Busy day for sure!!
I’m late as usual, but I will share my lunch/dinner. Hamburger mixed with stuffing and onions, fried up into small paddies and then set to simmer in brown gravy. There will be white rice to serve it over. I haven’t made this in years. It is finally getting to where I can stand long enough in the kitchen to work on something more involved than cans or pan seared meats. I’ll let you guys know when it’s ready. You’ll probably be smelling it in an hour or so.
Hy welcome back. I had done some half-hearted sweeping and dusting while you were gone. Thanks for the breakfast
Quickie update on car….remember I drove it into a type of flowerpot and broke the rods, boot AND wheel along with other bits and pieces. Anyway, we got it back Wednesday and she drives very well. I managed to scrape up the deductible. Man, $1900+ in damage done at 5-10mph. Geez Louise. Anyway, my spouse no longer has to wake up at ‘Oh God’ o’clock to take me to work (didn’t have enough $$ to cover our portion of the car rental).
Okay, got to get elbow deep in hamburger. Catch you later
Morning, tribe!Quaby - breakfast sounds great, although I’ll pass on the grits.
Terry - That last link was so sweet!Mopar - Thanks for the “best Ford commercial” link. My oldest brother is a Vietnam vet and a Ford Mustang owner. I sent it on to him, because I’m sure he’ll appreciate it.
Akenta I tried to sign up a while ago and got a runaround so if by the end of today JFi hasn’t signed (or someone else,) I will try again tomorrow. I have forgotten my original hotmail (or whatever it was that was asked for) sign - in so will have to redo it, I guess.
Good morning DocT do you still work evenings on the weekends with your new position?
Sorry I missed you Dry. I hope your Dad is improving. How was your son when you took him to visit? I’ll bet that if he is at all like you, he handled it well.

Good afternoon, doc! Have a nice nap - I’m tempted to do the same, although I slept in this morning. Just finished my gocomics lap, because I had to stop to cook breakfast in RL. (Virtual food doesn’t satisfy my family very well.)
“BMonk, I’ve gotta repeat - you missed your calling as a comedian!”
I dunno–I am just so very exceedingly often struck by the disparity between what should be (or what we expect) and what is. And I have the memory to bring things back that strike me…
RRAmom, and others, thank you for your kind words. I try, mostly by sharing what I find amusing. And editing out the truly wacky stuff, when I recognize it.
That’s okay Akenta, JFri left you in the lurch! Without all the brass instruments, it’s hard to do it alone! Remind me to lend you some of my one woman band insturments!
Dry I tried the kazoo bmonk gave me and I have no musical skills. I think I should stick to just crashing up stuff. If it bothered doc he wouldn’t sleep though it
If you will check out my avatar I have some armor for sale.* Akenta & Dry* - be sure to wear it if you should ever try to antagonize us into another water fight.
MoPar - Thank you. I am not starting anything here because I am going to have to go and join my wife for dinner soon and I do not want to leave anyone unprotected, but if I don’t join my wife for dinner, I hate to think what will happen to my wazoo.
If you guys want to battle I will try to come in as a substitute later, otherwise we may need to reel in our plans until a time more suitable, but if you guys and gals are all primed, do not let me hold you back…
*Mopar–And man was it fun, fun, fun. Especially with the cheerleaders watching!!! I always managed to get knocked out of bounds where they were practicing their cheers!! lol
Well everyone I have been summoned by the LG (Little General) for dinner. I’m not kidding, her friends, family and I call my wife that. But … only because it is true. LOL
Yes on getting knocked out of bounds. When I could I’d fake an injury right in front of them and they’d all huddle around me. Good company!! Coach always got upset, though I can’t understand why?????
I would never have gotten back if I had watched all of your links, so forgive me. I finished a good movie with my wife, with excellent actors and now I have come back to a linkathon. LOL
Hey it was better than a water fight against a cute girl with a machete!!! And being that I was left to fight them alone seeing as how my partners ran!!! lol
Snuck back to see what tunes you all picked! Good ones, I see. Carmy, I believe you picked Taylor Dayne! GREAT choice! Music helps me relax! Thanks guys! I needed this respite! SO GLAD YOU ARE HERE!!!
(((((((((((((((((((HUGS TO YOU ALL))))))))))))))))))))
I got to see Stevie Ray Vaughn in Seattle at the Paramount, just a couple of months before his plane crash. He idolized Jimi Hendrix, who was from Seattle and is buried there. During the concert he brought Jimi’s dad on stage.
I love the blues. Here is a little something I like.

I would never have gotten back if I had watched all of your links, so forgive me. I finished a good movie with my wife, with excellent actors and now I have come back to a linkathon. LOL
