good morning all. it’s a beautiful day, here in Southern Ontario. sunny and bright and almost 50F! too bad my golf clubs are put away for winter. no chance to visit last night as i had to pick up my niece from her Christmas party (so her Mom could get a good night’s sleep). i love helping out what i think of as my younger generation, but sometimes it interferes with me time. i guess that’s what parents go through on a regular basis, so once in a while ain’t bad. oh, before i forget, Carmy & Dry, my shank is ready to aid if needed.

Hello all, it has been a busy morning and afternoon and I still may not be done. Dawn is right another big wind and rain storm is due tonight.

You’ve been doing a lot of running around and getting things done this week.

We had our bedrooms and offices measured for carpet today. We were going to put hardwood in because we like it in kitchen, living and dining rooms, but the installation is so expensive and disruptive. Does any one have any experience on wall to wall wool carpeting? It is one of the two samples and quotes that we got.

That rain and wind is just sweeping right across the land this week. Been that way everyday here too!

Terry - My wife is a doer not a person that relaxes. She draws me in to these projects she creates and I feel guilty if I try to tell her that I am not interested. Because of her disability, some of them are dangerous if she tries to do them by herself. Yet, I also resent not being in more control of my own time.

@Margueritem, hope your stone-working goes well–just getting caught up from a week ago–I remember back eons ago being at a Gem Museum near Chicago, to the NW, which was probably the The Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art. Fascinating.

And then there were the jade carvings in the Freer Gallery of the Smithsonian, and the Gem room of the Smithsonian’s Museum of Natural History, not so much the Hope Diamond there as the other items.

bmonk- I agree about the Smithsonian. I was fascinated by the gems and the history of them as well. My wife was captivated by the Hope Diamond. She must have spent a good 15 minutes walking around it and seeing how it’s facets caught the light. I too, was more captivated by some of the others.

Tabby - Have you ever tried a Mocha. If you are not to fond of coffee the chocolate and whipped cream can be tasty additions. I myself will have one when I am in a dessert mood. Normally I drink my coffee black. I did not like coffee until I was in my 30s and had an espresso. It turns out I didn’t like coffee because it was to weak. Now, like Doc I like a strong cup.

MoPar - Try Turkish coffee. Concentrated dynamite in a tea cup. It is usually served sweet though, which I do not want.
