Okay breakfast is as follows…
scrambled eggs with grits, hempler’s bacon and homemade toast.
eggs benedict.
Crab and asparagus quiche.
chocolate beignets.
fresh fruit.
juices of your choice.
Doc’s coffe
Chai tea or English breakfast tea.
Rakkav’s CocoMocha
Mimosas.
Good evening (circa Alfred Hitchcock). Nice breakfast as always Cleo. Just stopped by to wish everyone a pleasant Sunday & share some positive thoughts. Hope all is well with everyone. See you soon.
Good morning. I just got back on the computer and onlty took a few minutes to finish reading yesterdays comments. Everyone must have been all yapped out from the night before.
Great breakfast as usual. May I have some eggs benedict, fruit and a large glass of juice please?
We will be doing our daily bike ride as well. We have almost perfected the art of choosing a time of day when we can get through the ride dry. Right now the rain is coming dow in buckets.
Good Morning Cleo, Terry, Steve, dcguys, Marg, Serena and JFri!Cleo, I’ll have some scrambled eggs and I’d like to try Rakkav’s CocoMocha, please and thank you.
I have some not nice things to say to the buckeyes, but it’s okay. The Oregon Ducks will hand them another BCS bowl loss. I despise that wretched team and am getting very bored with losing to them. Rant is over (for now), and I am off to bed.
((((((((((((((#TRIBE PRESENT, BEEN HERE AND YET TO COME))))))))))))))))))))
It’s always great to see everyone.
I plan to go through more magazines today. I have been collecting these for years and there are lots and LOTS and #LOTS of them. But it is still hard to get rid of them.
I think I’ll get some sleep now. Maybe by the time I wake up the Good Fairy or Santa’s Elves will do it for me. Not too likely, I guess. Catch everyone later.
Pray for me. Despite warnings from Doc Toon, I am going to pour cream in his coffee. If you see a mushroom cloud and Two Cows and a Chicken rising from New England this morning, do as Doc says, not as I do. goodbye Tribe, to sleep, perhaps to dream.
Hay Doc you seem to be the only one other than me about. I used to work in and manage state liquor stores. I used to dread the winter holidays. So much work. We would start getting our Christmas stock in during August. You start finding out about lack of warehouse space early. My back started rebelling at moving cases that you wouldn’t need for months out of the way for stuff coming in. Some days were so busy it was almost impossible to stock the shelves. Thanksgiving Eve was the third busiest day of the year, with Xmas first and New Years second. I was always glad to have January arrive.
Doc - I got really slick with a hand truck. I preferred bringing in a load. I did not like working the cash register, but it sounds like that doesn’t fit into your job description. I heard you mention that your store closes at night. That must be easier for you. They all stay open 24 hours here, so stockers have to keep bringing out their cases so customers can shop more easily.
It’s mid-morning here and I see that despite the kind offer of Rakkav’s CocoMocha on the breakfast menu, people are still clamoring for DocToon’s Nuclear Coffee. Some people must have a death wish or something.
Terry I may go over to a friend’s house to watch football. I am also going to make some bread. I have also been planning out side dishes for Thanksgiving. My wife is doing the turkey, pie and rolls.
I am doing the rest. Pancetta Sourdough and Apple stuffing, garlic mashed potatoes, Asian pear salad with pecans, sauteed spinach with crispy shallots, cranberry pomegranate sauce and chile-roasted acorn squash.
Cleo sounds great. May I come to your house for Thanksgiving. I won’t even eat ALL of your ice cream.
Lonewolf even though I don’t watch football [or any sports except horse racing, show jumping or rodeo events] chili really sounds good. Not that that’s a hint or anything.
Carmy, Wolfangil & I have our Turkey Day shopping done also I believe. I hope so. It seems like every year I am running out that morning for something!
Hi Doc, Cleo and Terry!Doc, the commissary has been running low on the Eggos too. I was able to get a large pack, I may go back and get another one.
Terry, I know, there’s always a last minute run for something you have to have for Thanksgiving.
Cleo, your Thanksgiving dinner plans sounds very tasty!
Hay MoPar. You guys are just getting to used to ease. Try making your own waffles, they are so much better than Eggos. Canned pumpkin though is a bad thing to be out of. We are going to have a spiced apple and dried fruit pie. My wife’s daughter may decide to make a pumpkin as well. She has gotten all of her mom’s cooking skills.
Cleo, My son and I make our own waffles. Wolfangil got us a waffle/pancake/burger skittle and we use the heck out of it. James likes making his own more than Eggos.
Eggos aren’t bad if you haven’t had homemade in awhile. We have a belgian waffle maker and I like to get the crust nice and crunchy. then I top it with chopped nuts fruit and either maple or chokecherry syrup. MMm good!
Cleo, I may have bought all the canned pumpkin. I have enough for 4 pies and 3 cakes. I’ve learned to get what I need early as the commissary runs out certain items quick.
Carmy - Good job. I tend to do that with Costco. If I tend to find an item I like a lot I by several more because they are notorious for selling out and then not carrying it again.
After the investment in the waffle maker, you save so much. That is why I make my own bread. I just bought a few pans and racks and now I make bread for pennies. You go into town and it would be $3 to $7 for comparable loaves and without fail everyone has liked mine better. Think of the fun with experimenting with batter. The process isn’t as instant as Eggos, but we make a large batch and freeze them and you can heat them up in a toaster oven. All this talk about food is making me crave Terry’s chili.
@Doc - sure, but it’ll cost because I’d need to skip work to provide a gross :-}
@Lonewolf - as long as I remember leavening of any kind, I usually don’t have much trouble. My biggest problem is putting too much batter in the waffle iron.
My poor hubby - I’m always experimenting with his food. I rarely follow a recipe, but bless his heart, he likes what I make the majority of the time.
Had lunch and come back to just your one post Terry. Oh well, weekends can be slow. I was all set to make italian baguettes and as I was working the dough my wife said “Let’s have Indian tonight. So suddenly baguettes will become naan. Talk about timing. Had had two loaves formed was just grabbing the dough to form the third. LOL

Good Afternoon (or should I say good evening) on this dreary November 22, 2009 here in Clayton County, GA. It is with a heavy heart to have to tell you that I’m dropping that dreck of a comic strip called Dick Tracy effective today. After Tracy cuffed the clown, that was it! I’ve had it with Dick Locher and his piece of horse hockey he calls a comic strip!. After half century of reading, it’s isn’t the strip it used to be in the old Chester Gould era. Story lines that took only six weeks by Tracy to solve now take six months to solve!
All the good characters are gone, and many of the story lines plots have so many holes in them that it look like swiss cheese! So I’m saying goodbye to Dick Tracy…until Tribune Media gets a better cartoonist!
okay to lazy to even try to read all of the comments. so ill just say hi im home again how are you all doing? i can’t waite till tuesday maybe even monday night. i can hope monday night. :o) but i may not get to get on here so i will be sad. :o( ill miss u guys so much ill be having withdrawls. ill let u know how it goes.
I’m sorry, Dry, the way you said finally, it sounded important and I felt bad that I did not see your question!
Two other Eggos plants had breakdowns which also contributed to the current shortage.
you two are still at it? doc had to go and let him out of the oven bleeep it. grrrr. (lol) and if that would have not happened this would not be going on and i would not be laughing so……wait where was i going with this? who knows. (shrugs)
lol terry good one. i bet it would be some tough meat.
i had baked chicken last night and friday night. YUMMY. could go for that with sweet peas and mac and cheese again, but not cooking so not having that. something simple is what im having i dont know what that is yet, but i know its going to be easy to make and easy to eat. lol
It will make a tough old bird like the roadrunner tender, yes!
Nothing can make politics tender, and what I meant by my remark, that I had to end the comment myself before I started to rant and rave! LOL!
Terry you are a man after my own heart. I love chili over noodles, but today saltines sound more my style. I have an assortment of Mexican beers if anyone would like.
Pacifico,
Negro Modelo
Corona &
Bohemia
and lime wedges
Good evening folks!
I just got back from our football game, and am happy to say, that we will be advancing in the playoffs. Now I am running very low on time to study for my anatomy exam tomorrow, so I will have to check out, likely for the night.
Peace and love all!
Contained herein is a report on our wonderful
family of Yappers. At 9 p.m. on 11/22 there
were 216 comments made by the following
folk The number beside the name is the total
number of comments they have ever made.
Wow. What a verbal Tribe. I will post this
tomorrow morning for the early birds to see.
Also, how does one find how many posts a particular comic strip gets? Does anyone here now know? I thought Doc or Cleo once said something about a certain strip and the amount of posts. I can’t remember for sure.
And yes it’s half time so I have lull right now or I wouldn’t be asking!!! LOL
Bored? I don’t think we sound bored. I think we sound pretty lively. It was Doc T who named us Yappers. Maybe even Happy Yappers, but you can see, he won the prize
for the most.
Terry if you have an alphabetical listing of all the cartoons on gocomics just drag your arrow over any one of them and it will give you a blurb about the strip and the number of subscribers.
Terry, on the top right of this page it has Comics A-Z Navigation in blue. It’s right under Find A Comic. When you click on it and go to the page, you just have to put your arrow on any comic and it will list the subscriber info and info on the comic also.
Terry that is odd because if I go to the alphabetical listing of strips they have a yellow dot that lets you know that they have a new strip today and if I just move my arrow over the title without even clicking, I get a synopsis of the premise of the toon and how many people subscribe.
Terry just to be sure that you are doing what I am, you go to the top of this page and click on comics, then when the page refreshes you click on comics A to Z. It is that page that has the info.
Cleo, I would say that it is worth watching. My oldest daughter really enjoyed it also and she thought all the other Satr Trek movies were lame. My favorite was “The Voyage Home.” That was the one with the whales.
Actually Carmy we all three are pretty nice as are the rest of the Tribe, that is why I spend so much time here. It is also like having a pet in a sense. A pet always accepts you as you are and cares for you. Well, here we are usually always on our best behaviors so we see the special part that each of us possess, but don’t have to deal with the bitchy moments that we all have. It is the perfect way to have a friendship.
Carmy I have a temper that used to come out at it’s worst when I was watching the Seahawks lose. Fortunately, not having a TV, I no longer react after a loss like today’s. Anyways, I would be yelling and screaming at the TV as they made one boneheaded play after another. My dog Kaya would get up, look at me, roll her eyes, walk to the far corner of the house, go into the bathroom, close the door and lay down on the bath mat just to not have to put up with my childish rant.
Yikes Cleo! I’m so glad you don’t have a TV! My husband does that when he watches “da Bears” play too.
Luckily, I learned from my Mom that “it’s just a game.”
Kaya didn’t like to see you like that. She was very wise to know that you would “return to normal” after the game.
I actually have a shorter list of cartoons that I read daily than most of you probably do, but Birdbrains has been on my list since the beginning. I have added some and dropped some, but I like Thom’s sense of humor.
Cleo, My comics page has my favorites listed A to Z and then some that I’ve added in a second A to Z listing. Sometimes, I just read (and comment) on my favorites and come back much later to read the other listing.

Hello Tabby!
Why can’t you get on till Monday or Tuesday?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Terry yes but he didn’t say why, and I don’t watch the news for things like that, too much other important things in the world to worry about! :-(
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
Terry, make sure the chili is hot (as Habanaro hot) enough, and I’ll take some. Thank you!
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
I’m sorry, Dry, the way you said finally, it sounded important and I felt bad that I did not see your question! Two other Eggos plants had breakdowns which also contributed to the current shortage.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Dry-Sending a large bowl your way. It’s definitely hot!
tabbylynn about 15 years ago
Terry no i may not beable to get on after those days. IDK. wont be home, not sure about getting on here on someone elses computer.

COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Tabby–I’m still here kiddo. Just had to take care of something.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Being that coyotes and roadrunners are sprinters, their meat would be tough. LOL
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Tabby, I didn’t see any politics either. Off to check my mail!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
NOT WITH MY SPECIAL BASTING SAUCE!
tabbylynn about 15 years ago
lol terry good one. i bet it would be some tough meat.
i had baked chicken last night and friday night. YUMMY. could go for that with sweet peas and mac and cheese again, but not cooking so not having that. something simple is what im having i dont know what that is yet, but i know its going to be easy to make and easy to eat. lol
tabbylynn about 15 years ago
Dry, let me get this straight…. Your “special basting sauce” will hide politics?? and make meat tender????
COOL CAN I HAVE SOME?!Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago
It will make a tough old bird like the roadrunner tender, yes! Nothing can make politics tender, and what I meant by my remark, that I had to end the comment myself before I started to rant and rave! LOL!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Did I hear somebody mention chili?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member about 15 years ago

Also, how does one find how many posts a particular comic strip gets? Does anyone here now know? I thought Doc or Cleo once said something about a certain strip and the amount of posts. I can’t remember for sure.

Bored? I don’t think we sound bored. I think we sound pretty lively. It was Doc T who named us Yappers. Maybe even Happy Yappers, but you can see, he won the prize for the most.

((((((((((((((((((((TRIBE))))))))))))))))))))
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Too funny dear!!! HA-HA
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Terry Click on your avatar or anyones. It will tell you how many posts you or they have made just below your avatar.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
I misunderstood you Terry. I do not know how many posts a strip gets but I know how many subsribers it has.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
That I know Cleo.
I think Doc mentioned how many times a strip had been commented on a while back. I was curious how he found that out.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
How do you know that Cleo(subscribers that is)?
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Cleo , Tribal cartoon alert at BB!!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Terry go to comics A to Z. Place your cursor on a strip and without clicking it displays the info.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Cleo, that is not working. Unless I am doing it wrong.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Good Evening Shika!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Terry if you have an alphabetical listing of all the cartoons on gocomics just drag your arrow over any one of them and it will give you a blurb about the strip and the number of subscribers.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Well, another disappearing act for the Tribe I see.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Terry I noticed Thom’s comment at BB. The saga might continue aye.
carmy about 15 years ago
Hi Cleo! I just watched the new Star Trek movie a short time ago. I thought it was pretty good.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Carmy Is this the one where they go back to the very beginning as the original crew>\?
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Good Evening Carmy!!
carmy about 15 years ago
Cleo, Yes, that is the one. I thought the actor that portrayed “Bones” was spot on. I wasn’t impressed with the “Chekov” actor. The rest were okay.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Cleo–It does nothing when I drag the arrow over the strip name except turn into a hand.
carmy about 15 years ago
Hey Terry, I thought you went sleepers.
carmy about 15 years ago
Terry, on the top right of this page it has Comics A-Z Navigation in blue. It’s right under Find A Comic. When you click on it and go to the page, you just have to put your arrow on any comic and it will list the subscriber info and info on the comic also.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Terry that is odd because if I go to the alphabetical listing of strips they have a yellow dot that lets you know that they have a new strip today and if I just move my arrow over the title without even clicking, I get a synopsis of the premise of the toon and how many people subscribe.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Carmy, no ma’am, I’m still here. I am watching some new JFK theory shows on the History Channel.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Cleo, I don’t know why it won’t do it for me. Oh well……..
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Terry just to be sure that you are doing what I am, you go to the top of this page and click on comics, then when the page refreshes you click on comics A to Z. It is that page that has the info.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Carmy, tried it off this page too and still no worky. It dun’t likes me I guess!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Hey Carmy, so you thought the movie was worth watching?
carmy about 15 years ago
Terry, sorry it’s not working for you. I can’t see why it “don’t likey” you. You’re really nice! (and so are you, Cleo!)
carmy about 15 years ago
Cleo, I would say that it is worth watching. My oldest daughter really enjoyed it also and she thought all the other Satr Trek movies were lame. My favorite was “The Voyage Home.” That was the one with the whales.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Actually Carmy we all three are pretty nice as are the rest of the Tribe, that is why I spend so much time here. It is also like having a pet in a sense. A pet always accepts you as you are and cares for you. Well, here we are usually always on our best behaviors so we see the special part that each of us possess, but don’t have to deal with the bitchy moments that we all have. It is the perfect way to have a friendship.
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Thank You (((((((Carmy)))))))!
But not as sweet as you dear!
COWBOY7 about 15 years ago
Back to the show, I’ll be “czeching” back at next commercial.
carmy about 15 years ago
Cleo, very nicely said! I think I should say that “you won’t like it when I’m angry.” (apologies to “The Hulk.”)
carmy about 15 years ago
(((((((Terry,))))))) you’re a real sweetheart!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Carmy I have a temper that used to come out at it’s worst when I was watching the Seahawks lose. Fortunately, not having a TV, I no longer react after a loss like today’s. Anyways, I would be yelling and screaming at the TV as they made one boneheaded play after another. My dog Kaya would get up, look at me, roll her eyes, walk to the far corner of the house, go into the bathroom, close the door and lay down on the bath mat just to not have to put up with my childish rant.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Carmy if I won’t like it when you are angry, please leave your machete at home.
carmy about 15 years ago
Yikes Cleo! I’m so glad you don’t have a TV! My husband does that when he watches “da Bears” play too. Luckily, I learned from my Mom that “it’s just a game.” Kaya didn’t like to see you like that. She was very wise to know that you would “return to normal” after the game.
margueritem about 15 years ago
I like what you said, Cleo. We are mostly at our best here, and if we’re feeling cantankerous, we don’t have to post.
carmy about 15 years ago
Cleo, don’t worry, my machetes are in their sheaths in the garage.
margueritem about 15 years ago
Carmy, I haven’t had a chance to tell you that I like your Thanksgiving avatar.
carmy about 15 years ago
Hi Marg! Thank you, I found several “horns of plenty” on google images. i like this one because it looks like stained glass.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
Good Evening Marg. Did you see that Thom is planning another Birdbrains Tribe cartoon? I don’t know if it is tomorrow or in the future.
carmy about 15 years ago
I really like Birdbrains. I’ve had it on my comics page for a long time. I don’t always comment, but I do read it regularly.
carmy about 15 years ago
I had to “edit” my comment, I skipped a word. I’m getting really tired and I’m trying to hold on for the “flip.”
margueritem about 15 years ago
No, Cleo, I hadn’t seen his comment. Time to go hang out at Pibgorn, bbl!
cleokaya about 15 years ago
I actually have a shorter list of cartoons that I read daily than most of you probably do, but Birdbrains has been on my list since the beginning. I have added some and dropped some, but I like Thom’s sense of humor.
carmy about 15 years ago
Cleo, My comics page has my favorites listed A to Z and then some that I’ve added in a second A to Z listing. Sometimes, I just read (and comment) on my favorites and come back much later to read the other listing.
cleokaya about 15 years ago
My comics are listed haphazardly, some in alphabetical order and others just added on as I discovered them. So, I have some B’s at the end, etc.
