We had really dense fog this morning, but now it is burning off and looking like a nice sunny day. I think the temp should be in the 50’s (F). That is one of the good things about the weather in KS, it doesn’t stay dreary looking for too long of a stretch. Might be terribly cold with wicked wind chills, but bright & sunny! Even when it gets really cold, it doesn’t stay that way for more than a week or two. For as far back as I can remember, we’d usually get a break of 2-3 days of 70 degree weather in the dead of winter. Nothing boring about the weather, here.

Getting ready to start on job 2’s work, which is the same thing I worked on today, just for a different employer. And I get to sit at home in myy caftan and be comfortable.

@cleo, I agree about making your own bread, waffles, etc. We have a local woman who gripes about buying our bread for $2.50 a loaf–our baker just tells her, “If you find any other bread out there as good as ours for less, buy it.”

It’s hard to make anything better (or cheaper) than homemade.

@Tabby Lynn, pulled any strings recently?

BTW–that reminded me of the “outhouse” banks popular in some circles about 20-30 years back–drop in a penny, and it hit the trigger on a mousetrap so the whole thing exploded!

And, don’t worry about the Mattress Police–you can always eat the mattress, since the label reads, “DO NOT REMOVE UNDER PENALTY OF LAW EXCEPT BY CONSUMER”

    Good luck!

Maybe Dry has a recipe for mattress?

Good afternoon, Tribe! A special shout to those courageous enough to try Rakkav’s CocoMocha this morning! :)

Here is a simple recipe for a quickie version of CocoMocha:

1 titanium spork from ThinkGeek.com (1) 1 Pessimist’s Mug from Despair.com (2) Kava instant coffee (3) Nesquik (sweetened or unsweetened) (4) Turtle Mountain’s SoDelicious Coconut Milk (plain or vanilla) (5)

    (1) Absolutely required, as this recipe (let alone the version made from scratch) will dissolve stainless steel. (2) May use the Pessimist’s Glass for iced mocha - just double the recipe and chill. (3) Tastes better this way, but you may substitute your favorite nerve-jolting instant. WARNING: Do NOT mix DocToon’s Nuclear Coffee with Rakkav’s CocoMocha, as there is a danger of generating a micro-singularity! (4) May substitute favorite cocoa mix as desired. (5) May substitute Blue Diamond Almond Breeze or similar non-dairy product, or with cow’s or goat’s milk if one is daring.

Heat a mug full of coconut milk in your microwave. Add 1 level spork of coffee, then 3 level sporks of cocoa. Stir. Garnish with cinnamon to taste.

@ Doctor Toon and the Tribe:

Doctor Toon’s Nuclear Coffee has a Super Power Du Jour, evidently.

Rakkav’s CocoMocha is also called Starbright’s (not Starbuck’s) CocoMocha for a reason. It is the favorite drink of my fictional protagonist, who (as far as Super Powers go) is as powerful as he needs to be at any given time.

In other words, he could wipe the floor even with the Beyonder (for your Marvel fans) if he really needed to.

CocoMocha just might give you access to All the Power There Is At Need. Can’t promise you anything, but it’s worth a shot…:))

Let me know how that works, Dry! (I just adjusted the recipe a bit; make sure you note that.) Also, let me know if your hands start glowing afterward…that’s a sign that you’re gaining access to Power At Need…

Please forgive me if I seem excessively self-promoting today, but for those curious to learn just what in the world I’m talking about, may I suggest my page on Triond.com. I am now reworking the fictional universe which I created as an experiment thereon, in order to submit a book manuscript to a niche publisher. The protagonist’s name is Chris Alan Starbright, who sometimes takes on the traveling name of Alain Harper.

Go to my Home Page below, then scroll down until you see the link “Triond: Johanan Rakkav”. You SHOULD be taken where you need to go from there.

I think it was yesterday that JAD said, after someone gave him a hard time, that an ex brother in law hit him over the head and I take it that did some damage to him. He doesn’t bother me anymore. I can ignore him and he can be quite interesting. I guess I feel sorry for him because I really do not think that he is doing this to PO people.

Dry, Doesn’t change how I looked at it as a mechanic! If the tire hasn’t been run on the rim, it should pump up. Unless the tire is shot, ie steel belts showing, sidewall hole, etc. And in those cases, Fix-A-Flat won’t work either.

I am doing okay. I took a little nap before dinner. I am looking forward to the holiday and the down time. My girls are off from school after tomorrow. Dry, I think that if I had a regular job, I would always be late due to one more cup of coffee and gocomics.

Mopar, I hear you. if I sleep too much, I am not productive at all. I do much better on less sleep. If I get tired later, I just take a quick nap.

Just stopped in to say ‘hi’ and ‘bye’. I have to leave for work soon so I won’t be back until tomorrow. I’m starting a nine day shift so I don’t think I’ll be on much for the next few days. That’s too long but usually I get five days off. But I traded days with the other night shift staff so that chopped up my five days. Oh well, it works out to one extra day and my paycheck can sure use it. Or rather, all the people with their hands in my pocket.

I still seem to be almost writing a book, don’t I? Sorry.

I found the perfect naked turkey that had a little caption that said naked, stuffed, basted at zazzle.com. I tried to snatch it but they are strictly trying to sell it and I can’t appropriate it for an avatar. It is tough finding naked cartoons and photos that aren’t porn.

Hi johnny. No there couldn’t be 2 johnnydoc5’s. I was just pointing out some of the troll activity that goes on around here.

I shared your pain on Saturday. Been a tough year for your team, but you won more than Virginia, I am sad to say.

Matt Shaub is having a good night for the Texans. He set most of the records at quarterback when he was at Virginia.

Thank you MoPar and Terry. I do not know if it is because I have a Mac or that I am just inept on the computer, but I could not get this to work. Thanks Terry you snagged the one I wanted. I saw this one and tried to get it and I began by trying to just get the bottom panel. At this size they appear like two little fat buddhas.

MoPar, ok, that makes sense. Michigan winning more than Virginia is little consolation to me, no offense, but when I started here, we were perennial BCS contenders. Now, we are a joke.

johnny I understand. When I was at Virginia we were the doormat of the NCAA but then I saw the program grow and we gained respect and reached a number 1 ranking but faltered. Still, we got respect. Then we started playing consistently and were in a decent bowl game every year until lately. Now we are the team everybody wants to play for an easy win. It stinks. Anyway I am sure we will have a new coach next year and start rebuilding. I love the game and nobody can call me a fair weather fan. I wore my Virginia jacket today

Guess what I found tonight? A brand new gadget called a Roadrunner Deep Fryer! They seem to be very popular in the Southwestern Desert! It sems people are buying them up like crazy

Because ROADRUNNERS are so easy to catch

And with a SPECIAL BASTING SAUCE they get so tender!

You have heard of Turducken. The newest Thanksgiving treat is a Coyrunnner. You stuff a coyote with a roadrunner. Then you apply a Dry rub then deep Fri. I have heard that it is a dish best served with a gravy with a Booker’s infusion.
