i actually wanted something different this year, like goose or duck or pheasant. But when the numbers of guests grew, from an economical standpoint turkey was the logical result. I once served oysters for the main course about 30 years ago.

I put on a little weigh after returning from our trip to Virginia. How appropriate this morning I was down to the weight I wanted to return to. Maybe I will get their again in mid January.

I’ve got my comics read, now it is time to pack up and go see my hubby. I’m to meet him at his trailer, then we’ll go together from there to spend a couple of nights in a hotel with a heart-shaped tub in our room. We had one in our wedding night suite, but we’re 25 years older now, so I hope we’re still up to enjoying it!

Terry - I’ll take items 1 through 4. I’ve got to pack some food that we can heat quickly for our lunch. Who knows what our supper will be? Neither one of us is crazy about turkey, but sometimes on Thanksgiving, the only thing we can find at an open restaurant is turkey. Maybe if I eat a big breakfast, I’ll be okay until Friday when restaurants have other choices available.

Cleo said many hours ago: “I can talk about it because I have Will Power. Unfortunately for Will, I have locked him in the closet for the next 5 weeks.” LOL! (I think I’ll have to borrow that line in the future.)

Good day, all! Thanks for the great DJ work last night Terry, MoParMitch, & Carmy. Those were some fun tunes & great memories.

I’ll check in occasionally to smell what I can smell. We’re not doing anything special today but we will be enjoying time together.

Others have already given thanks for this tribe & the new friendships we now have & I’d like to add mine to the mix. I appreciate the positive thoughts & happy memories I get when I spend time with the Tribe. Thanks for the continued prayers as I continue to keep you all in my thoughts & prayers.

Lewreader you had a battery in the old smoke detector go bad, too? Mine was chirping intermittently while I dozed and about the time I was certain it was chirping it stopped. Turns out the spouse, whose bedroom is across from the dang thing, heard it and took out the battery. I understand Big Lots is open today, if you have one. Other places are trying to get a jumpstart on the holidays as well…as if having Xmas stuff out in August wasn’t pushing things a bit.

I haven’t forgotten the rest of youse guys.

Turkey’s in the oven. Just the two of us. My son’s with his girlfriend’s family, they had a tragic death in the family and everyone’s still shellshocked. Guess she needs him more than us today. That’s ok….more turkey for us….snif

And I’m on vacation, so I may be popping in a bit more often the next 10 days. And I’m off to finish the toon tour.

Turkey’s done, green bean casserole finishing up and sweet potatoes warming up. Okay, so it’s not a huge feast at the household this year, but it’s good and I’m thankful for what we do have and what help we have received. My family is doing well, I miss ‘em like heck.

I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving is going well! I’ll tuck some leftovers in the virtual breakfast nook. Help yourselves. Warning diabetics need to avoid the sweet potatoes…I like ‘em SWEET

Working for an international company we get almost daily alerts on insurrections from around the world that affect our business. This has made me very thankful that I live in America - even with all her trials and tribulations. And I’m also thankful for the internet, to have found comfort, humor and connection in like souls I have never personally met. Thank you all!

LG’s daughter is working on pie, *LG* is making pull apart biscuits and I am waiting for a chance at the kitchen. I really like being by myself in the kitchen. It lets me get into a zen state that I can’t achieve when a bunch of people are moving about talking and clanking pans. I guess I’d be no good in a restaurant kitchen. Although there everybody has a job to do quickly and I would think they would be into focusing on the job at hand rather than kibitzing.

Aawwwkkk! Forgot the stuffing and gravy!!! Fortunately they’re both 10 minute wonders!! And we have a cake as well as pie.

Happy Thanksgiving, Tribe! And don’t forget to give thanks!! (And that includes the cook also!!!)

BTW, I hope that breakfast included Eggs Benedict–‘cause that’s what I had, along with various fruits, orange juice, and some high-powered, albeit not quite nuclear coffee.

Happy Thanksgiving, tribe! The following is from Richard Armour (if my memeory has not failed me) and I think I have it mostly right (ditto).

When Thanksgiving dinner is over I know just what I shall do and where I shall go. As soon as I’m ready, and feel that I’m able. I’ll hoist myself from my place at the table. Take six or eight steps, standing upright though curved and plop myself down in the space I’ve reserved. The rest of the day, folks, that’s me over there, the overstuffed gal in the overstuffed chair.

Too many tribemembers must either be:

Recovering from too much turkey, Entertaining the in-laws, Out Shopping, Watching two mobs of over-grown men chase a misshapen ball around some artificial turf, or Enjoying Juneberry pie. With homemade ice cream.

Oh, that last is me!

At home finally and relaxing! And all the left overs to pack up and get in the fridge! Fun, fun.

Had a great time as always though. Hope everybody else did too.
