hi WoodEye, marg, JFri, cleo, JDoc, and those who show up later (since i may not get on again on Friday proper). hope everyone has a good day. i’ll skip breakfast today as i’ve opened up a bottle of Crown Royal in celebration of the Canadian Women winning gold in Vancouver Thursday night. i still remember refereeing a couple of the young ladies from when i was involved in hockey - it’s nice to have a connection, however tenuous. and the American women played superbly, too. victory is sweeter when the opponent is worthy - and they would have felt the same if the positions were reversed. but enough babbling.

Grog Since I commented twice last night I’m not sure which you are referring to. I am an ENTP but all my scores were borderline.

Most people aren’t borderline introverts or extroverts but in certain circumstances (private vs public, happy vs sad or angry, familiar vs strange, etc.) will display characteristics opposite of what is ‘normal’ for them. Just like someone who is normally calm, might become really emotional if something sets them off.

I do like (Blows Raspberry). I was teasing people who get too serious with the comments sometimes but it is still true that someone may be extraverted with there family and introverted in public. Or introverted in general and extroverted in a comment section. (I would never have guessed introvert for you.)

I’m not sure what to think of Mr Doty, but he does seem to respond to feedback if you do not give it in a disparaging way. I have seen him improve several times when people are positive towards him in general. I do respect him more than a lot of the commentors who are viewed as negative.

I haven’t been giving as much positive feedback as before because I still am afraid of the people who have been negative towards me picking on those I am positive towards especially if they already pick on that person to begin with.

LuvH8 I have to agree with you there, LuvH8. I am more extraverted with people I know. If I am at a party with a bunch of people I don’t knowI tend to stick like glue to the people I know. I am not a “mingloid”

I liked the blow rawberries comment, too. People like Johanan appear to like to flex their intellectual muscles and should learn to lighten up. And no JAD isn’t all that bad. He can be funny, but I can understand why people get upset when they get unsolicited explanations.

There, I’ve said it and hopefully that’ll be the last I say on the subject.

As far as being borderline introvert/extravert, or the other Meyer-Briggs (Jungian) personality styles, there is little borderline in my personality when it comes to being introverted or intuitive. The closest I come is thinking/feeling, and judging/perceiving is not too extreme–but the other two are quite one-sided.

In that regard, I preferred the imaginary breakfast that was offered here first…

LuvH8 - That would be interesting to have that test on my siblings & myself. My husband says that we all fight for control in our family, which is pretty much true with the exception of one brother. I’m the baby of the family, and my parents made me their trust’ trustee & estate executor . This means I have to frequently remind my siblings that decisions are up to ME, not them. (I don’t think they still get it.) At first I was nice and shared information, but when they started trying to order me to do this or that, I shut off the flow of information. I will be SO glad to get Mom’s estate settled!

Rmom you could probably find the test online somewhere and definitely at the library. I don’t envy you being in charge of the estate. I am glad I won’t have final say after my mom dies, actually I will be happy to leave it up to my brother, I’d rather get nothing than fight over stuff. It is fun to tell my mom that I am glad she is taking such good care of my stuff though.

Hey Grog I expressed my feeling also but it was at the end of the day. From the information given I wouldn’t want to guess whether Calvin is introverted or extroverted in general.

And I was teasing about pointing fingers. I don’t type something about someone I am not willing to have them read in the context it appears in.

LuvH8 - I did everything I could think of to avoid fights over who got what, and that part seems to be okay, as long as it was itemized. When Mom was still alive, my siblings tried to tell me how to manage her money. Now that her house has a contract, so it needs to be cleaned out for the buyers, my siblings keep trying to give stuff away to people outside of the family. We will have an estate sale, so if the estate can sell it to someone, we shouldn’t be giving it to my siblings’ friends. Once the sale is over, okay, but not until then. That’s why I have to spend so much time over there, because I can’t trust my siblings to follow my orders when I’m not right there. I’d be over there now, but my hubby is having a colonoscopy this afternoon, and so I have to be his designated driver.

LuvH8 - I don’t think I’m really grieving. I had one day when it hit me that I was now an orphan, but that’s about it. Mom was a very strong Christian, so I know she’s enjoying herself in heaven now. She suffered a severe stroke 31 months before she died, and kept having additional ones, so it was harder to see the active, independent & creative Mom I knew and loved, reduced to skin & bones, lying helpless in her bed. I miss her very much, but I had already started missing her months before she died, as she lost her conversational skills.

No I didn’t, Lonewolf. Nor do I get flue vaccinations. I find they usually give me the flue. One year my Doctor insisted I get one. After that, never again. I rarely get cold or flue anyway. That was my first sick day in quite some time. Last time I took a half day about 5 years ago - and that was due to the flue shot.

Oh that sounds like fun! I think I’ve only been to two games but the excitement was great. Probably even better if you have a team.

Do you still have snow? It seems so strange that you all have snow while I have rain or sun and weather in the 50s.

Are you two planning a kidnapping? If so, beware of LIlG. Once she finds someone who likes work, she assigns chores like a true general. You two will be worked so hard you”ll put in for retirement and toddle off to the nearest nursing home to live out your days task free.

Banish, nonsense, you are on a special mission. Think of it as similar to Lady Bird Johnson’s idea of beautifying America, only in your case it the lovely mountainous region of Afghanistan. I think they referred to it as a cultural exchange mission and also a stimulus package for the American Paint companies. By the way….I did not receive my Christmas present.

The plot of next year’s oscar nominee is simple. It is the story of two relentless American Painters and how they mesmorize and immobilize a terrorist cell by numbing their minds with unbelievable color combinations. Jihad red, with an accent of Infidel Blue and a heavy dollop of Army Green.

I have an in. Don’t worry JFri. I bribed the proper parties concerned. I got you great accomodations on a tramp steamer. Your trip will be slightly boring, but uneventful. Your entry into the country will be by truck, at night, and you will be housed in barracks in Kabul, where you will await transportation to the mountains. the road is high and dangerous, but I have been informed that your driver has made 9 uneventful crossings. He had one unfortunage accident last year, but he survived with only a broken arm. His passengers were airlifted to their home countries for appropriate disposal. Happy travels and paint up a storm. Desert storm. I shall see you on your return.

The problem with those crack Afghani’s was indeed crack. They were so high that they got lost at the ferry terminal and were apprehended in a mini van that had a bumper sticker that said “My Afghan hound is smarter than your Poodle.” That was so obviously untrue that they are now on their way to Walla Walla for debriefing…. Packed yet.

Grog If you have been reading for a while, my catch line is “I’ll see ya’ when I see ‘ya!” Followed by, “Not if I see you first!” From “Stand By Me”. I LOVE THAT MOVIE! Just recently bought it. Another favorite is “The Green MIle”. My one son wanted it for Christmas last year, and we watch it all the time, and it’s a long movie. And I just bought “Murder By Death”, a comedy takeoff on Agatha Christie. Don’t see that on TV anymore.

Dry, Though I like Tom Hanks (I have Family Ties episodes with Hanks as cousin Ned), I have not seen that movie. I have Apollo 13 though. I was never a fan of Peter Sellers, but I loved Mel Brooks. Go figure. May the Schwartz be with you.

Just watched an episode of “Wings” where Roy, Lowell, Joe and Brian go to a South Carolina resort for a weekend of golf! Laughed so hard, (again), my sides hurt!

Dry, there are not many 3 hour (or more) movies I’d watch. Believe it or not I found Gone With the Wind long winded, but I was rivetted by Judgement At Nuremburg, Bridge On the River Kwai & The Longest Day

Nightcourt often did that to me Dry, though I also did like Wings. But I’m working on building my Nightcourt collection.

How old a soul are you? Tabby took the “How old a soul are you?” quiz and the result is Very Old Soul. When the winds of change blow, you sense the outcome ahead of others, having seen so much before. Surprises come in smaller forms to you, as in the unexpected experiences of the senses, deepening your appreciation of the physical. You want life to last so you can explor…e your mature understanding of existence. You have become patient with the younger souls, understanding their paths and of the challenges they face. You forgive much, often acting as mentor without pushing your beliefs upon others. You give without great expectations of receiving. Love has become the most valued concept in your universe - this life may be your quest to perfect your ability to express and receive perfect love. Thoughts of dying do not fill you with dread, as you understand death is a part of life, and life is a process of becoming… so death is a graduation, not an end. At rest, you feel at one with the universe and are grateful for your current home, Earth. You have a heartfelt affinity for history - the connections to various periods throughout time are undeniable. Very old souls are adept at recognizing other old souls… mutual respect forms naturally between them

I love you too Sweetie! My day was long and tiring. I took a nap before dinner and had a long chat with the oldest daughter after dinner. I was going to go sleepers, but I decided to catch up on the comments here first. WOW! Was I surprised. My last comment was on page 2 and you all got all yappy and made it to page 7.
