Good morning all. Hey Doc, is it true you have a 95 Saturn? I’ve got a 95 Saturn SL2 with a DOHC engine that runs like a top. I had to replace an idler pulley, the water pump, and do a brake job on it over the last year but it still runs pretty well (knock on wood).

If I saw a bear, I would head in the other direction. Quickly. Bears can feed themselves.

@johnnydoc, it helps to have someone else along who is not quite as fast. That way you don’t have to outrun the bear, which is pretty tough. You only have to outrun the other fellow…

BTW cute avatar, Dry. I remember when I was a child we went to Lake Louise and on the way saw a father putting a child on a bear’s back. At that time, some people had no idea how dangerous they were. Scary! Luckily the bear was well fed by tourists so didn’t do anything while the Mom took the pic. Now the Park wardens scare the bears away any time they get near a road so it’s rare to see any.

Dawn, I’m so glad nothing happened to the child on the bear’s back. I would of thought that the child would have been scared of the bear. Have you ever grown your own mushrooms, SERIOUSLY for cooking purposes? I have thought about it, as a hobby, but never have. I keep reading up on how to do it, but haven’t. Also, sprouts, not brussels, but salad sprouts. Even if the rest of you have no clue what I’m talking about, I know Chef Cleo does!!!

No Dry I haven’t tried to grow them. We have a big mushroom growing operation near hear though. I do not like sprouts. There are not many things that I do not like, but sprouts are one of them. I have foraged for mushrooms a few times and gotten chantrelles. I have a few friends who have foraged for morels, which are my favorites.

Carmy the wind usually comes from the NW. The garden is in the NE corner of the yard and the wind rarely comes from that direction. When we cleared our bank of ivy and blackberries a couple of years back they spread fertile mulch and we lived with that smell for a little while.

Poops! I just scratched my laptop screen. How do I fix it?

Cleo I have read up on foraging for mushrooms so I guess you and your friends know what you are doing. I know that you have to KNOW what you are picking. Cudos, to you, for knowing!

Cleo, hopefully you’ll never have to live with the nasty smell again.
