Good morning and Happy FRIDAY!! Dry thank you for the grits. Iâve been debating if I wanted to try the new place that opened up where I used to get grits, but I guess I got another week to decide. Lew good luck with that plan :-)
Good morning all, TGIF. Although I have to work tomorrow, so TGIF doesnât mean anything to me today. Dry, can I get 3 over easy with some Tony Chachereâs sprinkled on âem, a couplea slices of toast with stromburries jam (as my kid used to call it) and some grits please. Gotta skip the good stuff since itâs a Lenten Friday :(
Tabby, I would like to hide in some unoccupied office with a couch, but unfortunately, we donât have any unoccupied offices or any couches in those offices.
Unfortunately, Lonewolf. But when I am done, I will spring forward at that time. I know Iâm going to be hitting the hay earlier tonight after last night. Itâll make my transition into the next work week a little smoother.
Hi Grog, bunny, cleo, saucy and MsngNOLA I got 7 hours of sleep but could have slept longer, some idiot called at 9:15 and then I couldnât get back to sleep, laid there for an hour and got up. The rain hasnât really started or that would have put me back to sleep.
MsngNOLA yes I didnât think of that, Friday. We sure have a lot of catholics around here, myself included! I hope you enjoyed the meatless breakfast!
Agreed, Lonewolf. I am looking forward to it. I think thatâs another reason I like to spring forward early. I never look forward to falling back, though.
Lonewolf, I scheduled a meeting with our tech center this afternoon, which is a location much closer to where I live. I know Iâll get out early and have a shorter trip home. But better still, Iâll be able to spring forward even earlier!
Iâm lucky to get 7. And I stayed up late last night. Canât do that tmr. night though! Could have slept longer, as I said, but .. . Why do people assume everyone is up when they are?
I was up last night, thatâs for sure. I was so happy to be home. I guess here it might to be a little more difficult to tell when people are faking it.
LuvH8, please see my comments to Dry above. I will be UP, though, by the time I leave the tech center this aftternoon, which should be shortly after 3:30PM.
Grog, Doc, Lonewolf & Cleo ~ remember you are not old enough to be dirty old men. You can still be Cyber-Slapped! Oh and so can Bunnyface! Though I would probably have to ask forgiveness.
Grog, I couldnât sleep the first time I tried last night. After a few posts, I was able to rest for a few hours. Now I need to stay awake until this evening to get straight again. And even that is no guarantee that Iâll be able to sleep! It sucks.
Lonewolf werenât you one of the people talking of the reasons not to ride bulls? Where do you think I get these ideas.
It is not my fault!
I was imagining a bunch of men in a country western style bar. Hanging out after watching the rodeo. Get them all some beers.
Next thing you know: Lonewolf, Grog, Doc & Cleo are standing around with one beer in their hand for drinking and one beer in the other hand to ice down aching parts. There in the background is Bunnyface leaning on the âbucking bullâ laughing his posterior off.
Lonewolf one of the things that works best for me (when I am actually tired but canât sleep) is to put in a movie or cartoon that I have seen many times before. I can usually sleep until it ends, then restart it to go back to sleep. If you can find one that loops, or use your techno-geek talent to make it loop without that annoying end of movie music even better. My daughter loved Lady and The Tramp until I started falling asleep every time she made me watch with her.
Bye Lonewolf, I thought you said that was one of the reasons you quit. Sorry. If you notice I did not say what the aching body parts were. I figure thereâs got to be a lot of aches after being thrown off a mechanical bull.
The day has zoomed by Terry. I saw Shika* comment that she was going to make dinner and looked at the clock. I couldnât believe how fast the day has zoomed by.
Hi Cleo, Tabby, Shika, JDOc, Serena, LuvH8 and Terry, and anyone I missed. We woke to snow on the ground but it turned out to be a glorious day! For a while there, I thought I might have to be like Wink and get the skis out. Cleo where are the mines you are researching?
Iâm thinking of locking Senile Psycho Kitty (not my cat) in one of the buildings outside, so I can sleep more than 45 minutes at a time during the night.
Actually, I got the impression it was real bulls. Was it as much fun as it sounds like it was scary? Oh and WHY?
Itâs my sisterâs cat, but she died, so I take care of him. He doesnât like people much, which is okay because I donât like him much. Hee~hee~hee. But he is around 20 years old, so I am nice to him.
Mua Is looking out the window. He likes that he is my height when he does that while I work on the computer. I wouldnât mind letting him out into a well-fenced yard, but cats are different.
My neighbourâs cat fell off their 6th storey balcony and died at the vets with a broken back. It gives me nightmares.
Lonewolf-
Hee~hee~ha~ha~ha~ha~haaaa! That comment about it being good I am nice to the cat struck me as funny.
I had a dog when I was a kid (well I only liked/remember one) he used to sleep in the middle of my bed. He would sleep outside with us when we were kids and protect us from the oppossums. I guess my dad got up early to remove the bodies before we woke up. We didnât fence him in, but he didnât seem to need it. Now days though, big no-no.
Shika, I am cat sitting, along with my cats. I have my sonâs cat here. He and his GF found this poor little thing, badly, badly abused. She is such a sweetie, but still very timid and defensive. Canât blame her though after what the poor little thing went through! I still miss having a dog and still want to get one. Itâs been 3 1/2 years now without a dog. Thatâs too long for me. Although, the nice thing about cats, they are pretty self-sufficient and mine are very pleasant and sweet.
Thank you Lonewolf, of course my brotherâs cat is still AWOL. There are buildings though and I saw him last weekend. I put his food on the front porch during the day, but I think he must be living off the field mice. Oh well, my brother said I could keep him outside. (We have skunks, so if he wants to eat it must be during the day.)
I think all cats are sweet. I love dogs too, but have only had one dog that I remember.
The pet store I shop at has a big white cat named Charlotte who sits on the counter. She is a purring machine. She looks like a long haired Mua, and is about the same age.
Shika Theyare marsupials and as cute as a button! Quantas airlines used to use them in their commercials, come to think of it, I havenât seen a Quantas commercial in years, but then I donât see that many commercials anymore. My cousin and her family went to Australia a few years ago, and she held one. She said it was adorable!
OkayâŠfor those of you who prepare or consume grits, be advised that, when dropped on our orange shag carpet, or left to dry on the card table that we use for breakfast, grits become rather rock-like.
Shika, good to see you too! I kept missing you.
Dry, Iâll help ye make the scurvy dog walk the plank if need be.
Okay Hymenoxis, yâall watch those grits now, ya hear?
Is long as you are up hymenoxis another snifter of brandy would be nice. If you could just slide the bottle in my direction when you get done chiseling I would be most grateful and pour yourself a snifter if you choose.
Shika dinner was wonderful. My wife made mushroom thyme risotto and served it with colossal prawns cooked with olive oil, garlic, and white wine. We also had perfectly cooked peas and one of my homemade baguettes, served with a 90+ rated chardonnay. Very nice.
Rum casks have their own aura. One knows, when approaching a rum cask, that it is a work of art. Iâm quite aware of where my broom handles and mop heads are, relatively speaking.
Seems to be the case. Sheâs taken my kitchen renovation money and dug a hole. I wanted a nice Viking cooker and some granite countertops, but was over-ridden.
Galveston and SPI have become a âdonât go thereâ place for us lately. Tâwas a time it was fun to watch the young people, but no more. Theyâre crazy these days.
My favorite bit of Galveston is âColonel Bubbieâsâ, a military surplus shop with cats wandering about the place and china from WWII destroyers. Itâs a claustrophobic, mildew-smelling, lovely place for folks that like that sort of thing.
Hy If there is history there, I will endure the musty smell. I love history, always have! All time periods. That also happened to be my best subject in school, straight Aâs always. I hope some time soon to get back to reading some good old history stories, My favorite time periods were the Revolutionary War, Civil War and WW2 and anything about the American Indians.
Dry, I used a high pressure water hose to clean up. Hymenoxis was worried about the wet carpet so I got the vac out to get rid of the water. Did you read the above comments? Skerk!
*Hy *sounds like you passed up a good deal! I do that too sometimes.
I was googling the East German jacket, because Iâm not familiar with that. From the â60âs? Which tyoe was it? I saw 2, one true camoflage and one just a dull looking green.

Itâs my sisterâs cat, but she died, so I take care of him. He doesnât like people much, which is okay because I donât like him much. Hee~hee~hee. But he is around 20 years old, so I am nice to him.
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
BTW - Can you picture the others on a real bull? I donât think you could get them drunk enough!!!!!!

What IS that smell?? Wooooo!
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
cleo I was teasing you. It is how you worded your sentence.
Sorry I missed you Dry
Thatâs why Iâm glad I have a cat. It is raining out now, and I can stay indoors!

COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
Itâs good that you are nice to the cat, LuvH8.
My backyard is completely fenced and the dogs can be let out on their own. They like when Iâm out with them. :^)

How was your day JFri?
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Have you had dinner JFri?
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Lonewolf- Hee~hee~ha~ha~ha~ha~haaaa!
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Iâm taking a break from homework today to clean my apartment. But I may read some tonight so I donât fall behind.
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
LuvH8, I said that because some people would just continue to be mean regardless. I think it is nice of you.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
HEY JFRI! HOW YAâ DOINâ BUDDY?
Shika Iâm here now!
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Hi Dry Where were you?
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I like you avatar. Too cute. A bear behind.
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I thought you said you were here Dry.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Shika, I am cat sitting, along with my cats. I have my sonâs cat here. He and his GF found this poor little thing, badly, badly abused. She is such a sweetie, but still very timid and defensive. Canât blame her though after what the poor little thing went through! I still miss having a dog and still want to get one. Itâs been 3 1/2 years now without a dog. Thatâs too long for me. Although, the nice thing about cats, they are pretty self-sufficient and mine are very pleasant and sweet.
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
COWBOY7 almost 15 years ago
My show is on now. Iâll be in and out during commercial breaks.
Have Fun, All
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I think all cats are sweet. I love dogs too, but have only had one dog that I remember.
The pet store I shop at has a big white cat named Charlotte who sits on the counter. She is a purring machine. She looks like a long haired Mua, and is about the same age.

Shika, Thatâs my bear from a very dear friend. She has her back turned to the public!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Shika I will probably be using some more panda bears later on.
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Your bear from a very dear friend? You mean she lives with you?
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago

Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago

This one has a job helping kangaroos cross the street!
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I like Dryâs Panda though, even if it is camera shy.

Cleo You are too sweet, my friend!
Shika my panda is not shy, she is making a statement! Get it? :-D
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Shika Theyare marsupials and as cute as a button! Quantas airlines used to use them in their commercials, come to think of it, I havenât seen a Quantas commercial in years, but then I donât see that many commercials anymore. My cousin and her family went to Australia a few years ago, and she held one. She said it was adorable!

hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
OkayâŠfor those of you who prepare or consume grits, be advised that, when dropped on our orange shag carpet, or left to dry on the card table that we use for breakfast, grits become rather rock-like.
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago

Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago

cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Is long as you are up hymenoxis another snifter of brandy would be nice. If you could just slide the bottle in my direction when you get done chiseling I would be most grateful and pour yourself a snifter if you choose.

hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
(polishes brass monkeys, mable entryway, crystal ashtrays)
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Shika dinner was wonderful. My wife made mushroom thyme risotto and served it with colossal prawns cooked with olive oil, garlic, and white wine. We also had perfectly cooked peas and one of my homemade baguettes, served with a 90+ rated chardonnay. Very nice.
Shikamoo Premium Member almost 15 years ago

Have a good time guys. Nice to see some familiar faces again!
Come back real soon, ya hear?
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
Rum casks have their own aura. One knows, when approaching a rum cask, that it is a work of art. Iâm quite aware of where my broom handles and mop heads are, relatively speaking.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Brass monkeys, who has brass monkeys?
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago

hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
Less of a problem when lying on the beach next morning.
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago

carmy almost 15 years ago
Hymenoxis, are you going to hit the beach on Spring Break? Cowabunga!

hymenoxis almost 15 years ago

cleokaya almost 15 years ago
comicaddict, if you have Barbancourt 15 year on board. I will take a snifter.
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
CarmâŠmammaâs hired a contractor, and theyâre digging Monday to put in an effing swimming pool.
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
I used to like to go to South Padre and watch the young people, but not so much anymore. Itâs all tattoos and thongs.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Hy Swimming pool? Oh you lucky dog you! And you donât want one? Oh yeah, she puts it in and you have to maintain it. Got it! ( I think)
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
PIRATE calls for me, and now heâs gone! Cripes!
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
Seems to be the case. Sheâs taken my kitchen renovation money and dug a hole. I wanted a nice Viking cooker and some granite countertops, but was over-ridden.

hymenoxis almost 15 years ago

Hymenoxis, you donât want the swimming pool? Oh yes, Spring Break has really gone wild at SP and SPI. Dry, your Panda is HUGE!
carmy almost 15 years ago
Hymenoxis, I meant Corpus and Port Isabel.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago

Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
carmy SP and SPI?What does that stand for?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Ay Pirate things be fine! Thanks for asking, though I could use a nice rum and coke!
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
Galveston and SPI have become a âdonât go thereâ place for us lately. Tâwas a time it was fun to watch the young people, but no more. Theyâre crazy these days.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
SP - South Padre, SPI - South Padre Island, would be my guess.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Where is Cleo?
carmy almost 15 years ago
Dry, South Padre and South Padre Island. Basically the same thing. One part of the island is by Corpus Christi and the lower part is by Port Isabel.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Carmy ainât she though? She is prepared for anything! You donât mess with this Big Mama!
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
South Padre has a nude beach about 5 miles up the beach past the end of the road. You have to drive on the beach to get to it.
carmy almost 15 years ago
I havenât been to Galveston in years, a lot of years.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Movie time. See ya all!
carmy almost 15 years ago
Dry, maybe sheâs Kung Fu Panda! Cleo, get out! A nude beach? I didnât know that, but of course you would. Snerk!
carmy almost 15 years ago
Enjoy the movie, Cleo!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Carmy Yes Cleo would KNOW about that, wouldnât he? LOL! Kung Fu Panda? ROFLMAO! No, I do have Kung Fu Panda though! Thanks to my dear friend!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
What happened to *Hy and Pirate**? Yea, they leave a mess and here we are!
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
My favorite bit of Galveston is âColonel Bubbieâsâ, a military surplus shop with cats wandering about the place and china from WWII destroyers. Itâs a claustrophobic, mildew-smelling, lovely place for folks that like that sort of thing.
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
A mess?
carmy almost 15 years ago
I ainât cleaning no mess! Maybe we can get a fire hose and just wash it all away.
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago

Hy If there is history there, I will endure the musty smell. I love history, always have! All time periods. That also happened to be my best subject in school, straight Aâs always. I hope some time soon to get back to reading some good old history stories, My favorite time periods were the Revolutionary War, Civil War and WW2 and anything about the American Indians.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Carmy what did you spill, girl? Okay, what can I do to help? PLEASE say âStay our of my way!â LOL!
carmy almost 15 years ago
Dry, I used a high pressure water hose to clean up. Hymenoxis was worried about the wet carpet so I got the vac out to get rid of the water. Did you read the above comments? Skerk!
hymenoxis almost 15 years ago
Dry-
Itâs a fascinating place. I found a complete set of Cheifâs mess china from a WWII destroyer, but was foolish and didnât buy it.
I wear an East German camoflage jacket that I bought there for ten bucksâŠ

*Hy *sounds like you passed up a good deal! I do that too sometimes. I was googling the East German jacket, because Iâm not familiar with that. From the â60âs? Which tyoe was it? I saw 2, one true camoflage and one just a dull looking green.
