There was a place in TX that was close to Port Arthur, called Sartain’s. They had BBQ crabs, raw oysters, frogs’ legs, and some sort of fish. You sat at picnic tables, which held a stack of paper plates and a roll of paper towels. They served pitchers of beer, iced tea, and lemonade. When your plate got dirty, you tossed it, and someone passed you another one. That place was heaven.
Marg, that’s similar to “Joe Cotten’s” which is outside of Corpus on Hwy 77. Cotten serves up BBQ beef and chicken. They serve your order on wax paper.

Well, it’s official. Both of my cats will be sent to the Silly Kitty Place. I know, I’ve been threatening this for months, but my patience is exhausted.
Originally, it was to be just Boo Boo Kitty, the yellow one with the fluffy white ruff, the one that is often startled by furniture that has not moved in years, or the fact that air exists. Boo Boo, or “Boobs”, as she is occasionally called, has been on my short list for months.
However, it is time to add Sally, the gray one, to the list. She’s normally an unobtrusive creature, to the point that she’s also known as “Camo Cat” and often sat upon when sleeping in chairs. It seems the two of them have conspired to go tear-assing across my normally quiet bed at God-Awful-Thirty in the morning and wake me up.
HYMENOXIS Is breakfast included with my room or do I have to spend more of my virtual money. As for your cats, how would you know they love you if they did not wake you at 0 dark hundred?
Morning TRIBE! Another day of fun and adventure with my cats.
There are towering condominiums on the island, soaring behemoths with gold-fixtured baths and toilet paper already installed. Don’t stay there.
Wifey Bits and I stay at the Seaside Motel, a wooden structure dating from before I was born. It smells of mold, and each room has its own unique deficiency. One room may have a diesel powered air conditioner; the next room a particularly fragrant species of mildew. Pay your dime, take your chance. It’s cheap.
It’s on the beach, however, and a wonderful starting point if one needs to wear off a hangover in a sandy location.
I was in Navy A School in Memphis, Tennessee. The beautiful young creature who was to become my wife of 29 years (and counting) was deposited by her step-father at the Sleepy Hollow Inn in Millington, same state.
The Sleepy Hollow had avocado-green carpet…until one looked under the bed.
I’ve been fortunate. Wifey Bits, aka “The Dark Eyed Beauty”, has been tolerant of my travels.
The previous Memphis story is true, and we were married by a Shelby County Commissioner. I stood waiting in the Commissioner’s office while Wifey Bits donned a peach-colored sheath she’d made herself. The Commissioner, a lovely lady, looked at us and said “you’re much too young,” then proceeded to bind us.
After graduation from A School, I recieved orders to a Naval Patrol Squadron in Maine. Wifey Bits was not geographically cognizant at that time, and, with tears in her eyes asked “is that in America?”
We weathered three winters there, and many stories of Texas Girl in Maine will follow. It was a hoot, trust me.
I probably travel more on business than on vacation these days, but when I am spending my own money, I prefer to spend a little more money for a room and a bed that I’d be willing to sleep in.
Ain’t no shame in accomodating accomodations. Wifey Bits has a Marriot thing, where we get upgraded. Worked out well in San Antonio last year, and in Austin. She travels a bit for her job.
There is a Marx Brothers marathon on TCM on Monday night for anyone who is interested. My favorite A Night At the Opera, is on in the wee morning hours.
I was stationed in Bermuda. The Canadian barracks were not in use, so the wives of our squadron were invited to come over. Wifey showed up and went swimming in the actual ocean.

Texas girls are like that. Throw them in the Mediterranean, and they’ll ask about dinner.
Got a moment to check in. Car seems to be going ok…I haven’t tried opening the hood yet…figured I’d wait until I was off ‘probation’ at work before I ask for trouble. I ended on a good note at work though….I think I’m in a position to stay caught up and prove I can still pull my share of the load. So Sunday night I’ll take a bit of Karma just to smooth things over.
Should have been working more today, but I got the top of my desk clean. Still haven’t found the license tag renewals yet…still got a few more piles here and there.
I’m working on a type of meat baked in tomato soup with spices and onions served over rice. I’ll wheel it in when it’s ready.
I hope everyone is having a good day. It is rather nice here today…sun’s too bright though. I’m photosensitive.
Baked beef in tomato soup with onions is served. It is best over rice which is available. There is also bread and butter as it is a little soupy ‘cause son came over and took about 1/3 of the meat after I’d already put the two cans on to heat.
The pantry also has a stock of compatible veggies, help yourself if you choose, you can nuke it or immerse the can in Doc’s coffee to warm it quickly.
Ice cream with syrups, sprinkles, nuts and cherries is available.
After all of this…grab the beverage of your choice. Enjoy.

And that should tell you just how tired I am. I am talking more nonsense than usual.
I love the tune, Bunny. I’m listening to it in another tab.
I also like Breakfast in America.
Could we have kippers for breakfast, mummy dear, mummy dear? They got to have ‘em in Texas, cos everyone’s a millionaire.

Wifey Bits recalled an Italian restaurant in Seattle at which the waiter asked what one did NOT like, and proceeded to bring food of a random nature.

What time is it where you are bunnyface? It is past midnight here, which means that my carriage has turned into a pumpkin, and I must make my way to bed on foot.
And that should tell you just how tired I am. I am talking more nonsense than usual.
GOOD NIGHT!

Scooby talks.
Lonewolf I am sorry about your mom. Didn’t the doctor or nurse tell you anything?

I love the tune, Bunny. I’m listening to it in another tab. I also like Breakfast in America. Could we have kippers for breakfast, mummy dear, mummy dear? They got to have ‘em in Texas, cos everyone’s a millionaire.
