Morning TRIBE! SHEâs taking me shoe shopping today.
Doc - I remember asking my husband once what he & his roommates did about cleaning. He said whenever it got too bad, they moved. When they moved, some sympathetic female would come over & help them move, and theyâd get her to clean.
Morning cleo, Doc, Rmom, and allâŒ
cleo- on cooking artichokes-fresh ones we do in pressure cooker for around 11 minutes/two large ones. Season w/ salt pepper, lemon/lime juice and cloves of garlic. We ate two off our âshrubâ and 11 minutes was too long. They were more tender than store-bought.

Hi, Cleo, Terry & Good?!
Things are pleasant & quiet here now. We had a gentle shower yesterday, and today is mostly sunny with some clouds.
My BFFâs son is getting married outside today, so theyâre thankful the weather is decent. The rain was just right too, because the site is on a dirt road, and the rain was enough to settle the dust without making the roads muddy. I spent yesterday with her, baking cookies & helping set up for the rehearsal dinner.
Doc - You seem to have found a wonderful woman. It is also very good that you realize it, and treat her accordingly.
Iâve heard Dr. Laura say the secret to a good marriage is to âChoose wisely, treat kindly.â Sounds like you might have the right formula this time.
Hope all is well with you. I am listening to my husband on radio. He and a pastor friend of his are starting a 13-week radio show (AM) about how life meets faith. Right now, they are on another guyâs show promoting their show which begins tomorrow. Itâs sort of cool, because Iâm actually watching live streaming video of them. Friar Tuck and Pastor Lance look pretty comfortable behind the mike.
If you want to know what Friar Tuck looks like, look at www.ustream.com, the Charles Campbell show. (only until 12 noon, EDT).
Hello everyone fine spring Sat here and I live in the plains of KS.
What a fast week. I tried to type without vowels not good. My rt shoulder has months to go for healing.
I have looked on line to review. dr told family although my husband didn not hear i had a tear + arth more then he thought. I am see a little good difference and i have start some itching. i am free of a sling but keep my arm to my side, did that anyway. 4/26 therapy yaaa. I had to call and check work place and hand place i go back mon and im only pt. i just have to change way of doing things. iâll try not to make a pest of myself here. bye for now.
i hope the ones who see who is spamming reported also to gocomics inform them they need to police the site.
Hi Dry (sorry, had to say it âŒ)
yeah, if tree nuts was all we had to eat, weâld just die!
cleo- my wife makes a dish with left-over chicken, gravy and artichokes over flat noodles that she says she got from Rachael Ray show, it is grrrrrr8!!!!
Well, they were a lot more verbal until a guest callded in to discuss computer stuff. So - the first hour of the show showcased them a little more. Ah well.
Kab - Try to follow all of the doctorâs recommendations for your restrictions, therapy, etc. From the experiences in my family, when it is all finished, if youâve followed the recommendations, your body will function & feel much better. (Also less risk of needing a repeat surgery.)
Believe me I do follow all drs restrictions and my arm tells me if i goof. just anxious to get my shoulder back to normal and my shoulder will with time. I need to start cool pack treat very soon.
sorry to say spamming is over on one of the other commics bikinin is there couldnât believe it and yes i flagged twice. How do i delete?
I know youâre glad the move is almost done, doc.
Take care of that shoulder, kab. Donât do too much too soon. Listen to the physical terrorists, they do know what theyâre doing (even though I give them a hard time).
You can only delete your own comments (could you imagine the chaos if you could delete everyone elseâs too). If you want to delete one of your own, click on the delete comment in the blue box.

Pool ~ Is that the game where people bend over the table displaying there back sides, while hitting balls with really long sticks? ~~~~~ Good Luck!!!
No!!!! I am sending a curse on your beer it will all taste yeasty and be really yucky! When you pour it on slugs they will curl up and die. If you are smart you will take this as a sign.
Thank you Grog I am removing the curse on your beer. Unfortunately, it will still taste yeasty and be really yucky! When you pour it on slugs they will still curl up and die. If you are smart you will still take this as a sign. (Thatâs just the way beer is!)
Donât know if it was some ad or what, because I tried about 3 times before I ate breakfast. Tried again, and can see now.
(Anyone reading this is going to wonder, because I deleted my comment about not seeing the page before I read LuvH8âs)
Rmom when I couldnât get in on my momâs computer I tried using another way of entry and had no problems so you might want to try that next time. You can follow someone (thru their profile) or go to the A-Z listing at the bottom of the page.
BTW ~ The lilac bushes are over 75 years old, they are not going anywhere. Maybe they are getting tired. The back yard needs more shade, when do you plant lilac bushes?
A professor wanted to teach his 5th-grade class a lesson about the evils of liquor, so he conducted an experiment with a glass of water, a glass of whiskey, and two worms.
The professor first put a worm in the glass of water. The worm writhed about, happy as it could be.
He then put the second worm in the whiskey. It writhed painfully, sank to the bottom, and died.
âNow, what lesson can we derive from this experiment?â the professor asked.
One bright student responded, âDrink whiskey and you wonât get worms.â
Thanks, LuvH8! From comments on the other strips, it looks like the spammer slept in today. I wonder if it had posted on BT, and thatâs why my filter blocked it? Once the mods got it removed, then I could see it again?
Sorry to see you leave, especially because I canât stick around too much longer myself. Iâve got to get mowing, and some other work done around here today.
Doc, have a nice snooze.
Lewreader, did you finish eating? Was everything alright?
Good luck with the shoe shopping!
Hello Yukoneric, Cleo, Rmom and GoodQuestion!Hey Dry! I hope you found your breakfast that I was saving just for you.
Hi celecca! Sorry I missed the video of your hubby. What a wonderful blessing, congrats to the both of you!
Hi Kab, Iâm sending you good thoughts. I hope everything goes well, especially with your therapy.
Hi Saucy, howâs your Mom doing?
Hey Grog!
I got soaked on our bike ride today, at least I was prepared for it. Hope everyone is having a good weekend so far. My life has become one project after another. Our newest one is reorganizing our fruit and vegetable garden.
Physical therapy?? Yuck! I remember my pt for my knee after replacement surgery. The walking and steps and squats and such were bad enough. At the end of it Iâd have to lay down and she would push with all her strength on my knee as I screamed and begged for mercy. It got to where Iâd want to run away when she said âokay, lay down on the tableâ. And she was a wisp of a thing, maybe 98 lbs soaking wet.
Good work week, until 4:45 Friday when my supervisor gave me a heads up that things are achanging AGAIN next week. She says itâs not my work or the fact I got behind Wednesday afternoon and Thursday (had to do online bookngs before my email bookings). But sheâs going to give me my 1st weeks evaluation before anything changes so Iâve got at least one good one under my belt.
Stormyâs still hanging in, God bless her. Sheâs sleeping with me now, and I canât âpushâ her around until weâre both in position, I donât want to hurt her. So my sleepâs been pretty broken this week. My hubby boils chicken breasts for her, and she eats about half of it. I swear sheâs bonier, though. Her groomingâs dropped off severely and sheâs either eating, being held as she sleeps or sleeping. Doesnât seem to be hurting, though.
You guys take care, I have to shower and go off to the craft store and see what I havenât sold. Then to the Dragon for a while. The new doctor starts tonight, I canât wait. Whoo Hoo!!
Hey Cleo, are you working in the rain, or did it stop?
Grog, warning received!
Quaby, I hope all goes well at your work. More hugs for (((((Stormy))))). Thank you for the krispy kremes, yum!
Iâm back. Thereâs a big Magic tournament at the Dragon and the lady I usually play scrabble with went home sick. No one else was there so I came on home. Need to do something in the kitchen, anyway.
I did sell four more earringsâŠ..$20. Whoo Hoo.
Just had to jump up for a major RL intrusion. I heard sounds on the other side of my deskâŠlike stormy was peeing on the bed again. I jumped up to make sure it was on the sheet with the plastic under itâŠand it was but she was taking a dump. Sigh Only because sheâs sick do I tolerate it. She had never done it before except once or twice as a âkitty protestâ, and even then it was usually just pooping on the rug. So now I have laundry, too. Ah well, life in the fastlane.
Doc I hear you. My one sonâs cat is staying here for a while, a spayed female calico, very pretty! She was badly mistreated when he and his girlfriend found her, so I guess that accounts for some of it, but she is PSYCHO! The other day she got into a fight with one of my females and fur (my one cat is a long hair) was flying EVERYWHERE. And I mean that LITERALLY! We had to throw a blanket over one of them to break it up!
Good Afternoon/Evening All. I finished digging up extraneous strawberries that had escaped their designated boundary, man it grows like ivy here. It only rained during our biker ride, so although it was cloudy it was still very pleasant outdoors for working.
Doc sometimes ours and her walk around each other, and my sonâs cat is walking very carefully eyeing them up and growling when she walks past them. Yes growl, she sounds like a dog! Every once in a GREAT GREAT while, one of mine will be laying on the bed at one end, and sheâll be at the other and they are both asleep.
Sorry Cleo I missed you. Hi Cleo, âBiker rideâ?
Are you like Wink reliving the past? That must look quite funny, you in your birthday suit with only a helmet on! ROFLMAO!!!
Dry I said Stormy was hanging in. Sheâs still board thin, bag of bones, but her tummyâs a bit harder. Sheâs also not grooming herself. If sheâs here next Saturday Iâll be surprised.
Almost time for the Mythology of the Doctor. Should be interesting.
Oh Doc Donât run out of patience! These kitties need good homes!
And craziness, my three will be just laying around, and all of a sudden, thereâs a mad dash up the stairs, mad dashes down the stairs, JUMPING down the stairs (thereâs only 6< LOL) but they are hysterical to watch!
Speaking of bad a@@ kitties, I steamed some asparaus and was marinading it on the counter, in a dish, with Italian dressing. Here she comes into the room, with a piece of it playing with it! ASPARAGUS! What cat likes asparagus!?
*Yeah Grog, I didnât plan to do the things I did, got carried away and lost track of time. I did accomplish something, it just wasnât on TODAYâS âto do list!â
Thank Heavens, she got the piece out of the scrap bag by the sink, not my marinated asparagus! Glad I caught that, or I would have wasted some of my hard earned, pampered homegrown stuff!
Grog refresh my memory, Temple of Doom, Harrison Ford, or Michael Douglas? I forget. Oh wait, Michael Douglas was in âJewel of the Nileâ. Never mind!
Grog is that you in that one photo? If so, you look enough like a dear old friend of mine to be his brother! I wonât say twin, but it would be close!
Dry, there should be 2 unless Iâve screwed something up, but yes. Itâs funny you say that, Dry, because there was a time when a friend of mine and I were mistaken for brothers so often. At that time, we both had beards.
Iâm still trying to locate that photo with us side by side at a quite Saturday night at his home with his now ex-wife.
I still remember Ed McMahon doing live commercials on the Tonight Show. I may have this wrong, but he was doing a bread commercial and it was supposed to be âSarah Lee is the best in bread.â He said either âSarah Lee is the best in bedâ, or âSarah Lee is the breast in bed.â The bread company could be wrong, since it was a womanâs name I used it for the effect.
Grog, I believe that you are right. Good job, it was Mrs. Bairdâs. Good photos, by the way and nice to have a face to put on you. I have had you pictured as Grog, which is not to flattering. LOL I have also had Rmom pictured as Jeremyâs mom in Zits, because that was the avatar she used when I first met her.
cleo, I remember that about **Rmomâs avatar. I liked it. Iâm still looking for a photo of myself and a buddy of mine that I mentioned in my last comment. I may have looked a bit more like grog back then with my beard. There was another friend of mine whoâs goal was to become a metal star. I was calling him Grog back then - but oddly enough, I do not have a photo of him.
Grog My friends name is David, from near Phily and heâs Jewish (of course you could be too for all I know, LOL!) and I know his brother and sister, so I donât hink youâre it, but the resemblence is uncanny ! They say for all of us there is a double in this world, I guess thatâs true, I guess I have a look a like here as well, but Iâve never seen her. People tell me they have seen me here and there, and I say NO, and they say, âAre you sure?â Iâm like âyeah Iâm sureâ, I ainât that old yet! :-D
Dry, My father was on english descent and my mother was Irish. Back when I had a beard, there were shades of red in it. Now there are only shades of white!
JFri, you found the coin while geocaching?
Grog, I saw your photos, theyâre beautiful! You donât look like I pictured you, but you are still good looking.
OOOH! I love how it is still light out. I love these longer days. I am sure at this moment, only JFri is appreciating my comment. By the way, what happened to Dawn?
Oh Cleo you fuzzy wuzzy naked man going thru the car wash at 2AM! Thank you sir, for that lovely compliment! I be just fine, Sir, in the company of my special friends!
Dry, You havenât told me what you like, but I know that I could do a lot worse than Bud as far as American beers go. I also like Michelob, but I donât see it that often.
I know some people wonât drink anything but micro-brewery beers, but I havenât seen anything or tasted anything that appeals to me since I left Montreal.
A friend of mine was collecting unemployment, but went out with us on Friday nights. He insisted on drinking micro-brewery beers which were well above his means. Needless to say, we ended up paying for him just to keep him around a little longer.
Grog, I live in micro brew heaven and will drink nothing else, if given a choice. We have 4 micro breweries in my area and nothing is better than fresh beer.
When I lived in Edmonton, the majority of the home folk drank Molson Canadian, which, to me, tasted a lot like what the clydesdales would relieve themselves of.
Cleo believe it or not, we had a great little Micro Brewery in our liitle burg, GREAT, but the owners got divorced and sold the business! Now itâs just a restaurant, good, but not great like it was, and the brewery sits empty. The new owners keep advertising they are going to open it back up, but itâs close to 2 years now!
Dry, an employed trucker friend of mine always drank Sleemans, but I donât see it down here. I drank a beer that was brewed in the sub of Montreal, called LaSalle. The beer was called Hopps Brau Lager. I see now that the micro-brewery is now closed.
Hey Carmy - I did see it. Iâll pass on the congrats when FT gets up in the morning. Weâre pretty excited, yet itâs a gaining experience thing - no pay. Itâs an adventure. And he has the voice and body for radio.
Grog Itâs the only Sam Adams I do like. Iâm more partial to Jameson Irish Whiskey or a good red wine.
celecca, he has the voice and the body for it? Now Iâm really sorry I missed it.
Are you still having a lot of pollen up there? I think it has eased up down here in FL.
Dry, Iâve been to Niagara on the Lake. I forget what beer I drank there. Itâs been such a long time!
There were also some very good microbreweries in Kingston, ON. The problem is, those breweries were all very regional, and I couldnât buy any in Montreal.
Carmy, Grog and Dry
Youâre old enough to remember Mt St. Helenâs? My uncle lives in Idaho and sent us a box of ash from the eruption. It was jerry-rigged to poof open so that the ash went everywhere. Took days to clean it up. I can only imagine what would happen to an airplane going through that. It may be a niightmare for all the stranded travelers, but Iâd rather be inconvenienced than dead.
What I donât get is why people havenât opened their homes to the stranded people. Sort of like the Canadians did for 9/11 passengers whose flights were diverted.
Grog Iâve been to Kingston also, but never checked for microbreweries. We sailed the St. Lawrence River, went to Wolfe Island, Gananogue, took the river to get to Boldt Castle, went to Fort Henry, grand trip!
I remember Mt St. Helenâs. I saw pictures in Newsweek that I wish I hadnât. My brother was stationed in Colorado and the ashes went that far. Did you smack your Uncle upside his head?
I didnât hear about the stranded people not getting any help from the locals. Thatâs messed up.
celecca, I remember the Mt. St. Helenâs thing, but it was too far away from me to have any impact on me. Though, while I was living in Edmonton there were forest fires raging, north of the city that definitely had an impact on our air quality. I didât dare open my windows in my car or home while the winds were blowing from the north. Talk about second hand smoke!
Thank heavens my mom laughed - eventually - before she called him from Ohio.
The passengers right now are mostly having to spend their own money for hotels or are camping out in the airports if they havenât been able to get on trains. No airline is required to help out althoughI hear Air France has booked 2000 rooms near Orly fro stranded passengers. they arenât paying the full price, though.
Grog sometimes we get the smoke from Floridaâs wildfires. Weird to smell and see the smoke in the atmosphere. Weirder is smelling the salt from hurricanes when weâre so far inland.
Celecca makes you wonder. I guess it takes a REALLY bad disaster to wake people up. I consider this thing an inconveniece, not a tragedy. Iâve been in some bad spots and my philosphy is, it could be worse, and this is a new adventure in my life, maybe not the best, but an adventure none the less! They are inconveniced, A lot worse could happen!
Grog, I hear you. Weâve have brush fires here and not even very close to our house, the smoke is horrible. They had a big fire in Georgia (I think) and it was like it was on the next block.
celecca, your Mom is cool.
Those stranded people are getting ripped off.
Iâm heading off to bed. I really wish I could have been here with my favorite friends, but I had to prepare for tomorrow. And now I need to go to bed. Itâs going to be a long day.
Dry, youâre right - I just sort of wishâŠwell, I donât know what exactly I wish. Just some somfort and warm hearts for those affected by this.
BTW - for a few hours only - my avatar is Friar Tuck. Not a Friar or observant Jew or a Mennonite. Just someone who has other things on his mind than haircuts and trimmed beards. This is his âpatriarchalâ look.
This evening he gave himself a buzz cut and trimmed the beard. Guess Iâm feeling nostalgic.
Dry, I used to do audits of our Millhaven plant, which was about 20 minutes away from where we were staying in Kingston. Our hotel stocked a few of those micro-beers.
We also did a week-long stag for a buddy of ours. We got a house boat at Gananoque and spent about half our time on the Canadian side, docked at Kignston and the other half on the American side @ Alexandria Bay. We did the whole Thousand Island tour, but Iâve never actually been on Wolf Island.
Actually the airline industry is going bankrupt. This volcano was an act of God, not the airlines, people who can afford to fly on vacations, for the most part, unless they are traveling to an ill relative, traveling for medical treatment, they are a soldier, etc. should not be given special privileges in my book, make them comfortable and fed, but hotel rooms, etc. They should sort out special cases, and the rest well what can I say? Heavens sake I heard there were actors stranded, ACTORS, making more money than most of us will see in a lifetime, special treatment? PLEEZZ!
celecca you just HAD to say Mennonite didnât you? LOL! He sort of looks Amish too! LOL! I wasnât thinking that until you said it! I have lived my life around Mennonites and Amish!
Dry, Iâm thinking itâs almost time for some cauliflower. Iâll propbably be out of stock by the end of my long week-end and will have to make more very soon!
Yeah, this way he figures he wonât have to worry for at least 6 months. Weird thing is, it always looks good growing in.
I accidentally gave him his first buzz cut about 2 years ago.. I was putting the finishing touches on a not-half-bad cut, and dug too deep with the clippers. âOopsââ is not something you want to hear when you havenât had a buzz cut in 40+ years. But I kept trying to even it upâŠ. the next day at church, you could hear the jaws dropping from the moment we walked in. It was funny (now); embarassing then (for me). he didnât care.
Dry, we spent very little time on dry land. We were rollinâ down the river listening to CCR except for when we were out on the town for the night in the local bars.
celecca, you made an oopsie on his hair cut. :-O
My husband will give himself a haircut, go to work and then come home and ask me why I didnât tell him that he missed a spot. Gee, I didnât know I could check his head while I was sleeping.
Oh yeah Grog! Bad boys for sure, AND DATED!!! CCR? ROFLMAO! Yeah, I know, you still liked the tunes right? Did you listen to 3 Dog Night also, while ROLLINâ DOWN THE RIVER? :-D
You would not believe the number of people who think heâs a monk or a member of the Mennonites or Amish. He got the moniker Friar Tuck when he started going to seminary. It stuck. He uses it now when he posts on his news discussion groups like Swampland.

Kab Listen to Rmom - Iâd say the same thing!

Good morning (barely), tribe.
Good luck with that tournament, Terry.

My bad, LuvH8. Too late though. Iâve already stocked my bar & fridge for the long week-end. Happy hour begins when ever I feel like!

Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Wait! The IRS, that was just mean. (wipes tears from eyes)

I had even found a joke for Grog:
A professor wanted to teach his 5th-grade class a lesson about the evils of liquor, so he conducted an experiment with a glass of water, a glass of whiskey, and two worms.
The professor first put a worm in the glass of water. The worm writhed about, happy as it could be.
He then put the second worm in the whiskey. It writhed painfully, sank to the bottom, and died.
âNow, what lesson can we derive from this experiment?â the professor asked.
One bright student responded, âDrink whiskey and you wonât get worms.â
~ Now Iâm not going to tell him!!!
Ooops! Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I have to go drown my sorrows in a nice glass of ice water. See everyone later.
Lotâs of Luv, Have a Good Afternoon!
(I had to go anyway, just trying to make Grog feel guilty.)

I never had worms, either. LOL.

Hello Yukoneric, Cleo, Rmom and GoodQuestion! Hey Dry! I hope you found your breakfast that I was saving just for you. Hi celecca! Sorry I missed the video of your hubby. What a wonderful blessing, congrats to the both of you! Hi Carmy & cleo Iâll give you all fair warning. Iâve begun scanning some of my old photos to disk.

Good afternoon Tribe
Whoo Hoo!!
P&L⊠and krispy kreams for all!

Good Evening (almost), Doc!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Doc I hear you. My one sonâs cat is staying here for a while, a spayed female calico, very pretty! She was badly mistreated when he and his girlfriend found her, so I guess that accounts for some of it, but she is PSYCHO! The other day she got into a fight with one of my females and fur (my one cat is a long hair) was flying EVERYWHERE. And I mean that LITERALLY! We had to throw a blanket over one of them to break it up!
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Good Afternoon/Evening All. I finished digging up extraneous strawberries that had escaped their designated boundary, man it grows like ivy here. It only rained during our biker ride, so although it was cloudy it was still very pleasant outdoors for working.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Hi Grog! I was busy all day, time just slipped away!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Quaby how did you say Stormy is?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Doc sometimes ours and her walk around each other, and my sonâs cat is walking very carefully eyeing them up and growling when she walks past them. Yes growl, she sounds like a dog! Every once in a GREAT GREAT while, one of mine will be laying on the bed at one end, and sheâll be at the other and they are both asleep.

Almost time for the Mythology of the Doctor. Should be interesting.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Oh Doc Donât run out of patience! These kitties need good homes!
And craziness, my three will be just laying around, and all of a sudden, thereâs a mad dash up the stairs, mad dashes down the stairs, JUMPING down the stairs (thereâs only 6< LOL) but they are hysterical to watch!
Speaking of bad a@@ kitties, I steamed some asparaus and was marinading it on the counter, in a dish, with Italian dressing. Here she comes into the room, with a piece of it playing with it! ASPARAGUS! What cat likes asparagus!?
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
*Yeah Grog, I didnât plan to do the things I did, got carried away and lost track of time. I did accomplish something, it just wasnât on TODAYâS âto do list!â

cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Hello Shika. I am here and you are not. Or, will you decide to do another check.
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Shika, Iâm not no one. I remember that oneâŠin fact I have it as part of the Carson collection.
Itâs funny you mentioned that because I was reminded of Ed McMahon doing his Alpo commercials on Red & Rover
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Grog is that you in that one photo? If so, you look enough like a dear old friend of mine to be his brother! I wonât say twin, but it would be close!
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Dry, there should be 2 unless Iâve screwed something up, but yes. Itâs funny you say that, Dry, because there was a time when a friend of mine and I were mistaken for brothers so often. At that time, we both had beards.
Iâm still trying to locate that photo with us side by side at a quite Saturday night at his home with his now ex-wife.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
I still remember Ed McMahon doing live commercials on the Tonight Show. I may have this wrong, but he was doing a bread commercial and it was supposed to be âSarah Lee is the best in bread.â He said either âSarah Lee is the best in bedâ, or âSarah Lee is the breast in bed.â The bread company could be wrong, since it was a womanâs name I used it for the effect.

GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Dry, You havenât told me what you like, but I know that I could do a lot worse than Bud as far as American beers go. I also like Michelob, but I donât see it that often.
I know some people wonât drink anything but micro-brewery beers, but I havenât seen anything or tasted anything that appeals to me since I left Montreal.
A friend of mine was collecting unemployment, but went out with us on Friday nights. He insisted on drinking micro-brewery beers which were well above his means. Needless to say, we ended up paying for him just to keep him around a little longer.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Well, I am ready to watch a movie. See yâall.
cleokaya almost 15 years ago
Grog, I live in micro brew heaven and will drink nothing else, if given a choice. We have 4 micro breweries in my area and nothing is better than fresh beer.

Grog Familiar with Sleemanâs beer?
carmy almost 15 years ago
Dry, LMBO!! (fuzzy, wuzzy? I am really LMBO!)
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Cleo yes, from what I know, Oregon and Washington are famous for some of the BEST micro breweries in the US!
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
When I lived in Edmonton, the majority of the home folk drank Molson Canadian, which, to me, tasted a lot like what the clydesdales would relieve themselves of.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Cleo believe it or not, we had a great little Micro Brewery in our liitle burg, GREAT, but the owners got divorced and sold the business! Now itâs just a restaurant, good, but not great like it was, and the brewery sits empty. The new owners keep advertising they are going to open it back up, but itâs close to 2 years now!
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Dry, an employed trucker friend of mine always drank Sleemans, but I donât see it down here. I drank a beer that was brewed in the sub of Montreal, called LaSalle. The beer was called Hopps Brau Lager. I see now that the micro-brewery is now closed.
Labatt also has a brewery in LaSalle
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
Lack of microbreweries is one of the main things Friar Tuck compplains of down here in SC. heâs from Denver.
I have a preference for Sam Adamsâ Cherry Wheat.
Hi Everyone
Grog - I like your photos

celeconecca almost 15 years ago
Hey Carmy - I did see it. Iâll pass on the congrats when FT gets up in the morning. Weâre pretty excited, yet itâs a gaining experience thing - no pay. Itâs an adventure. And he has the voice and body for radio.
Grog Itâs the only Sam Adams I do like. Iâm more partial to Jameson Irish Whiskey or a good red wine.

carmy almost 15 years ago
celecca, he has the voice and the body for it? Now Iâm really sorry I missed it. Are you still having a lot of pollen up there? I think it has eased up down here in FL.
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Dry, Iâve been to Niagara on the Lake. I forget what beer I drank there. Itâs been such a long time!
There were also some very good microbreweries in Kingston, ON. The problem is, those breweries were all very regional, and I couldnât buy any in Montreal.
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
When ever I tiy anything new donw here, Iâm usually extremely disappointed.
carmy almost 15 years ago
Grog, I donât think theyâve heard of microbreweries here in FL. At least Iâve never seen one.

The obvious pine pollen is down significantly. Itâs the sneaky fine stuff which is lingering.
FT has a great voice. We looks somewhat alike in that my mother thinks we look like a pair of garden gnomes!
carmy almost 15 years ago
Dern that sneaky stuff! Your Mom is witty!

Iâm pretty proud of him.

I was reading about the volcanic ash over Europe. How awful for those people. I hope everything works out okay.
carmy almost 15 years ago
and rightly so, celecca!
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
Carmy, Grog and Dry Youâre old enough to remember Mt St.

Lawrence River, went to Wolfe Island, Gananogue, took the river to get to Boldt Castle, went to Fort Henry, grand trip!
carmy almost 15 years ago

Talk about second hand smoke!
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
Thank heavens my mom laughed - eventually - before she called him from Ohio.
The passengers right now are mostly having to spend their own money for hotels or are camping out in the airports if they havenât been able to get on trains. No airline is required to help out althoughI hear Air France has booked 2000 rooms near Orly fro stranded passengers. they arenât paying the full price, though.

Grog sometimes we get the smoke from Floridaâs wildfires. Weird to smell and see the smoke in the atmosphere. Weirder is smelling the salt from hurricanes when weâre so far inland.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Celecca makes you wonder. I guess it takes a REALLY bad disaster to wake people up. I consider this thing an inconveniece, not a tragedy. Iâve been in some bad spots and my philosphy is, it could be worse, and this is a new adventure in my life, maybe not the best, but an adventure none the less! They are inconveniced, A lot worse could happen!
carmy almost 15 years ago
Grog, I hear you. Weâve have brush fires here and not even very close to our house, the smoke is horrible. They had a big fire in Georgia (I think) and it was like it was on the next block.
celecca, your Mom is cool. Those stranded people are getting ripped off.

Iâm heading off to bed. I really wish I could have been here with my favorite friends, but I had to prepare for tomorrow. And now I need to go to bed. Itâs going to be a long day.

JFri Just so you werenât raining, and the sky was. Read your post!
* :-D*

Good night, Shika Sleep well.

Goodnight Shika! celecca, he gave himself a buzzcut? Wow! My husband shaves all his hair off, he doesnât have to much to begin with anyway.

Hi & Bye (again), Shika!

PLEEZZ!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
celecca you just HAD to say Mennonite didnât you? LOL! He sort of looks Amish too! LOL! I wasnât thinking that until you said it! I have lived my life around Mennonites and Amish!
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Dry, Iâm thinking itâs almost time for some cauliflower. Iâll propbably be out of stock by the end of my long week-end and will have to make more very soon!
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
Yeah, this way he figures he wonât have to worry for at least 6 months. Weird thing is, it always looks good growing in.
I accidentally gave him his first buzz cut about 2 years ago.. I was putting the finishing touches on a not-half-bad cut, and dug too deep with the clippers. âOopsââ is not something you want to hear when you havenât had a buzz cut in 40+ years. But I kept trying to even it upâŠ. the next day at church, you could hear the jaws dropping from the moment we walked in. It was funny (now); embarassing then (for me). he didnât care.

Grog Wolfe Island was SO COOL! Did you get to Boldt Castle? That was awesome too!
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Dry, we spent very little time on dry land. We were rollinâ down the river listening to CCR except for when we were out on the town for the night in the local bars.
Bad boys? You betcha!
carmy almost 15 years ago
celecca, you made an oopsie on his hair cut. :-O My husband will give himself a haircut, go to work and then come home and ask me why I didnât tell him that he missed a spot. Gee, I didnât know I could check his head while I was sleeping.
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
We did all our cooking on board, except for our 3AM snack attacks. LOL.
carmy almost 15 years ago
Grog, Iâm surprised at your bad boy behavior! LOL
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Oh yeah Grog! Bad boys for sure, AND DATED!!! CCR? ROFLMAO! Yeah, I know, you still liked the tunes right? Did you listen to 3 Dog Night also, while ROLLINâ DOWN THE RIVER? :-D
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
You would not believe the number of people who think heâs a monk or a member of the Mennonites or Amish. He got the moniker Friar Tuck when he started going to seminary. It stuck. He uses it now when he posts on his news discussion groups like Swampland.
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
CCR! Three Dog Night! Iâve spent many a blurry time with those as the soundtracks to my memories!
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Dry, CCR is PERFECT for what we were doing, like listening to the Doobie Brothers when youâre Rockinâ Down The Highway.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Grog Got yaâ! LOL! They werenât caled the Doobie Brothers for nothing!
GROG Premium Member almost 15 years ago
I was vaguely familiar with the Hatfield McCoy feud, but the only thing Iâd really seen on TV was the the Hatrock - Flintstone Feud.
Iâm now watching a movie on TCM called Roseanna McCoy which goes into how the feud was triggered.

Which reminds for some STRANGE reason, of another song I need to download, âBrandyâ by Looking Glass!

Anybody want some ice cream with Peanut Butter Cups and Fudge mixed into Vanilla Ice cream? I have enough to share!
carmy almost 15 years ago
I liked 3 Dog Night. I thought they were scary looking, but I liked their music.
celeconecca almost 15 years ago
Dry Brandy was playing on the radio when we were decorating for Jr. Prom. Aging myself terribly.

Youâre a fine girl?
I think I know that song, too Dry, and Iove that song - but donât yet have it.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member almost 15 years ago
Not really celecca! Maybe a year of two ahead of me, but not much! LOL!
carmy almost 15 years ago
I think I was in middle school when the Brandy song came out.
