Nudity in the spa…yes. It was bizarre. I’ve known these people for ten years or more, and they got naked in my spa. Not that I minded, to be honest…I got to see one of the better butts ever created, to be honest, but dang.
GROG Breakfast sounds wonderful but I’m on the movie star diet. I have popcorn (butter was on sale) but I don’t know where to get Jujyfruits at 6AM on Sunday. Perhaps the all night “Art” Cinema down the street. Wouldn’t need binoculars like I do with my neighbors spa..
Morning TRIBE! My lady will never look like Opal, May sound like her, but not look.
Good Morning all. Another sunny day in the PNW. I never was one for the snacks at a movie theatre. I don’t eat popcorn, for one. To tell you the truth, I haven’t been in a movie theatre in years.
Howdy Grog & Doc. My wife has trouble sitting for two or more hours. Her body starts to seize up, so we just wait for the movies to come out in video. I could hardly wait to see Up. It was wonderful. I don’t know if I saw Apollo 13 in the theater or on video.

Goodmorning Cleo and Grog! Gee I miss all the fun! Not!
Any food left Grog?
Cleo were you at Hy’s last night? He mentioned the naked lady, and the nekked man so I figured that was you! :-)
Hello all I unfortuntly had to miss sunday service my husband help take off the dressing on my shoulder had to 7 days since surgery and finally a shower yea. took a while got to me too. I can move my rt shoulder a little but not reaching up. waiting for therapy no major moves only small stuff.
I finnally had to flag a spammer and sent gocomics an email on comments telling them spammers are running the strip. Don’t know if will do any good. i don’t blame others from being tired of hearing or seeing comments on spamming but it is annoying.
The naked lady in my pool last night was my landscaper. She’s going to give us a design later, probably after her next regatta. It’s pretty much a mud puddle around the pool at the moment.
Afternoon, Lonewolf
I’m just heading out myself. When I get back I got get started with cooking for tonight’s dinner. I’m making a meat pie with a Cajun hot gravy for beef.
I’ve uploaded some more photos, but still need to get more Houston area photos uploaded. Hopefully I’ll be able to get those uploaded tomorrow.
Mom’s big problem right now is waking up every morning with nausea. Feels better as the day goes on, so must be that her tummy is too empty. I’m going to try having her eat a yogurt cup about 9 p.m. and take her phenergan right before bed. Then, wake her at 6 (or when I get up) and have her eat some crackers before she really gets up about 7-7:30. Any other ideas anyone?
She can take some phenergan during the day, but if she takes a whole one it makes her too sleepy. Takes a half sometimes, but I wish she didn’t need it.
I have been experiencing the best day of the year so far, summer weather, but me doing chores. :-(
hymenoxis, it truly amazed me when I was spending my winters in Edcouch, that a population that is 90 to 95 percent Hispanic would have grocery stores stocked to the hilt with Budweiser. And a token section of a Dos Equis and Pacifico. Up here in the PNW we have a wide variety of Mexican beers and also beers from all around the world. Come to think of it, most of the hispanics in Texas seem to prefer Coca Cola. Grocery stores in the very Southern tip of Texas reminded me of stores we had here in the 60’s, as far as lack of variety. Carmy, do you know anything about this?
I think it’s mostly marketing. The Bud folks, the Coca Cola folks, et al. tend to put a great deal of emphasis on brand recognition and advertising in remote places. It’s amazing how far one can get from home and still see a red sign for one or the other.
A couple of films come to mind- “The Gods Must Be Crazy” and the little known Jimmy Cagney film “One, Two, Three.”
Quite well, Lone. Wifey Bits is preparing food for the week and an Andy Griffith marathon is on the idiot box. The weather is chilly and dreary, so it looks like we’ll need to fire up the spa again. Strictly for medicinal purposes, mind you.
It was not released for quite some time, because of the political situation in Berlin in the 60’s. I put it up there with “Doctor Strangelove” in terms of political satire.
Wifey Bits is recording “True Blood”, a series on the idiot box. I find her attractive, and I remember her from her advertisement when she coined the phrase “the information super highway”. She won an Oscar for supporting actor for “The Piano”, and she occasionally takes off her clothes.
Grog, My dad has been to Canada, but only a couple of times. Not me though. But from what I’ve seen on T.V. It is very
beautiful there, though sometimes a bit cold, I imagine.
Grog, you might be able to find some clips on youtube with the Pepsi-Coke. I think they even have some old stuff on the NBC website. I’ve been wanting to see, “Quien es mas macho?” with Bill Murray and Gilda Radner.
It’s going to a quiet night tonight, Lonewolf. I may not be going to work tomorrow but I have an early appointment for vehicle service & State inspection.
Here is the recipe for the meat pie I had:
http://frenchfood.about.com/od/maindishes/r/tourtiere.htm?p=1
If you are interested, I can scan the Very Spicy Cajun Sauce for Beef. It goes very well with this dish as well as meat loaf, shepperd’s pie & anything else beef. The jalapenos really kick it up a notch.
LuvH8 I took my cousin horseback riding, since my boss from work said it was okay, afterwards we went to the mall and literally shopped until we dropped, While there we ate at a yogurt place and talked, At night we did some Karaoke.
Today before she went home we went out and got manicures. We also went to a hair salon and got our hair done, with color highlights. So that pretty much sums up what we did.
I also found my sister’s digital camera, she never used it and I don’t know how good of a camera it is so I am trying it out. I didn’t get Dad’s camera with his computer ) : Of course I would have prefered that his computer never became available.
And I need to get the baseball jokes together for the nephews, I think all three of them play (at least 2 do). Bad Aunt, No Cookie! I am supposed to know these things.
Terry - The weather has been only in the 50’s, cloudy with a little bit of rain.
I’ve been busy with church, dinner & nap. I haven’t even gotten all the comments on all of my gocomic strips read. I’m glad I signed up for genius, at least I can read the comic still if a comment trips on the filter. Ever since the spambot showed up, the filter has been blocking a lot of the pages.
Oh, joy, Terry! My washing machine quit spinning on the last load yesterday. It was already leaking, so we’ve decided to buy a new one sometime this week.
Rmom–Well, I actually had another sump pump with a bad motor that I was using for a “piggyback switch” so it was something I knew was eventually going to happen. It’s been so long I had to stop and think what I did last time!
Hi, Grog!Terry - That sounds like something my Dad would have done. My hubby maybe, but only if it was an emergency.
We just replaced the dryer last year, and the washer was leaking before that. Bought a plastic tray to put under it, but knew it was towards the end of its life. Worse part is that our laundry room is on the 2nd floor.
Grog - I can relate to that problem!
Terry - Is it any worse than having one in the basement? Most of our living space is on the 2nd level, so except for hauling appliances up & down, it is much more convenient this way.
Rmom–Oh, for convenience, I agree completely. I’d rather mine wasn’t on the basement level, but I would worry about it leaking if it was on the second floor. More than in the basement area.
Dry, if I could have a had a power snooze, I might feel better right now, but the whole day was go, go, go.
(Sigh), tomorrow’s going to be more of the same, and I’m not even going to be at work!
Dry, we had chicken cacciatore, but it was leftovers that we had in one of our freezers. It was such a beautiful day, neither of us wanted to spend it indoors cooking.
Terry - I understand about the leaking. The laundry room was supposed to be ceramic tiled with a floor drain, but didn’t get finished. When the washer leaked, some of my groceries in the pantry below got ruined. Next house, the laundry room will be on the ground floor, as well as most of the living area. My knees work fine most days, but the occasional day when they aren’t, the stairs are not my friend. I liked the idea of stairs as a built-in exercise program, but it seems that our boys are the only ones capable of running them anymore.
Dry, in some places Bud may be the best you can get. There are people a lot more price conscious than me. In fact I am not price conscious. Memories of my former local bar in Dallas come to mind, where people walk in and ask what’s on special or tap. In Canada (particularly Montreal) only the tavernes have draft and are priced lower than bottled beer. In the bars, only the British beers are on tap and cost more than bottled beer. Otherwise all bottled beer is the same price.
Thank you, Grog. Let me know about the special beef sauce. I do chili cookoffs 5-10 times throughout the summer and fall with CASI, so “bite back spicy” is fine for me.
Grog our drafts around here, IN SOME places, are good beers, cheaper than the bottled and in a big frosted mug! I don’t know if I could drink Bud again, haven’t had it in ages, and got turned off of it years ago. But like I said, “I LOVE THOSE CLYDESDALES! Even saw them up close and personal, great animals! And the dalmation too!
Lonewolf, I’ll try to scan it and send it to you tomorrow - if not you’ll get it Tuesday.
If you don’t find it hot enough, you can either/or increase the white black red pepper comination; You can also add jalapenos to taste if you like. I follow the recipe and sweat as I eat it. Good stuff!
Grog, are you laughing at me? You meaner! :-P!!!
I have lots of relatives in St. Louis. I spent my 16th birthday there. I saw the Cards play, we sat in the bleachers and we were behind Lou Brock, he said “Hi” to us.
Dry, I only say that because if the Cards go back to their losing way - which is more likely than not - then the stadium will be half empty again (except for Cowboy games). When that happens, they’ll probably end up in a city crying for a team, or LA, where the NFL really wants a team. My opinion is LA could care less about the NFL, or it would have a team already. Look how long it took Cleveland to get a team after Modell went in search of cash!
Wow Carmy! Only famous person I was near was Richard Petty in Baltimore. He was checking in when we were. Didn’t even know who he was until the reservation clerk said, “Hello Mr. Petty” and I looked over, Yep, it was him, sunglasses and cowboy hat. I was standing* inches* away from him.
Whoa, whoa. When I say whoa, I mean WHOA!!!Carmy, you asked me if the baseball cards were still in StL. Sorry but that made me laugh. Baseball has not - and will not (in my opinion) - play the same NFL game of musical chairs. That’s why I found it funny.
And the ex-Montrealer liked Lou Brock, too, even through he stole his share from my Spos!
That’s cool, Dry!
I didn’t know he really goes around dressed like that all the time.
The only “famous” people I have come up face to face with are Mac Davis, Amanda Blake, and a couple of soap stars.
Several of us in our family have worked one time or another at a Golf Resort and Country Club. When these famous folk came to town, that’s where they’d stay. My Mom worked there for years, so she saw a lot.
I never saw him there, Carmy. Even sports commentators would have mentioned him if he was there. Kiefer’s probably a Dodgers fan, if he likes baseball.
Carmy I forgot, I did see, some of the soap stars from my other favorite soap that I watched from day 1 until it was cancelled, SIGH, “Another World”. They came to a local shopping center for a publicity thing, which I guess soaps still do. It was fun, and so long ago, my oldest was like 3 then. Funny how you forget things like that until something jogs your memory!
LW18, I don’t think it’s a biggie. I never talked to her, but I saw Angie Dickenson doing a shoot in Montreal’s CN Station. I’ve either talked to a couple sports celebs and been in sitting in restaraunts/bars within spitting distance of them, whether they be Habs or Expos.
I talked to Bob Berry before he was coach of the Habs. He was still coaching the Kings at the time.
Dry, I used to watch Another World. I can’t remember any of the actors though. I can only remember the rings making a ring at the beginning of the show.
Grog I first saw Kiefer in the movie “Stand By Me!” My sons and I loved that movie, I own it now, and I still LOVE IT! That’s where I get * my signature* sign off from, “I’ll See Ya’ When I See Ya’! (said by Wil Wheaton, Gordie Lachance) to River Phoenix (Chris Chambers) who in turn responds “Not if I see you first!” Been saying that for years now!
Grog as long as there are no tree nuts or mold on it, I’m ready for a refill! LOL! Food is one of my favorite subjects! I can’t believe I’m still a size 10! Neither can anyone else! LOL!
Hmmmm. LuvH8 brought up Mae West (the movie star) a page or 2 ago. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen her, but I saw one of her movies recently. I don’t think I could fully appreciate her talent in my youth. She was good!
Grog, thanks for the ice cream!
Dry, I’ve seen the ETrade Ads. I liked the one with Lindsey.
JFri, i hope the clouds are clean.
I fell behind, there was a disturbance in the force over here.
I got to hear about a little bit of the power of the dark side from a co-worker’s talk about her son. She lives on the same street as me, so I get to see her son on occasion. This kid’s a 7 year old Calvin.
She’s a working mom with a Calivin on her hands! Agggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!
I was over at the Tech center on Friday when I heard about her very recent adventure when she got a call from her huband while she’s in a meeting with Japanese guests. I fought to keep a straight face, while she’s talking about the situation her husband was facing.
Carmy, it’s very refreshing these days to hear about parents who will spank and ground their child, though it doesn’t seem to work with this one any more than we assume it did not work with Calvin.

Looking in her purse, she commented, “Hmmm…. That’s funny. When I lost my bag there was a $20 bill in it. Now there are twenty singles.”

Grocery stores in the very Southern tip of Texas reminded me of stores we had here in the 60’s, as far as lack of variety. Carmy, do you know anything about this?
hymenoxis over 14 years ago
Cleo-
I think it’s mostly marketing.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Hello, Cleo. Just stopped in to get a Pepsi and thought I’d check things out here. Back out to finish working!

Quite well, Lone. Wifey Bits is preparing food for the week and an Andy Griffith marathon is on the idiot box. The weather is chilly and dreary, so it looks like we’ll need to fire up the spa again. Strictly for medicinal purposes, mind you.

“One, Two, Three” was a great movie. I have seen it several times.

It was not released for quite some time, because of the political situation in Berlin in the 60’s. I put it up there with “Doctor Strangelove” in terms of political satire.

I’ve got this back problem, you see. It can only be remedied by alcohol, hot water under pressure, and sex.
It’s very strange. The AMA is investigating. There’s apparently a great deal of experimentation required.

I’m exhausted now!

Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Hi, Grog! Terry - That sounds like something my Dad would have done. My hubby maybe, but only if it was an emergency. We just replaced the dryer last year, and the washer was leaking before that. Bought a plastic tray to put under it, but knew it was towards the end of its life. Worse part is that our laundry room is on the 2nd floor.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Grog, I wish I had more time today to get some more things accomplished. Would have been nice!

COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Heheh! You think so, Grog. You may have something there!
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Grog - I can relate to that problem! Terry - Is it any worse than having one in the basement? Most of our living space is on the 2nd level, so except for hauling appliances up & down, it is much more convenient this way.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Rmom–Oh, for convenience, I agree completely. I’d rather mine wasn’t on the basement level, but I would worry about it leaking if it was on the second floor. More than in the basement area.

Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Terry - I understand about the leaking. The laundry room was supposed to be ceramic tiled with a floor drain, but didn’t get finished. When the washer leaked, some of my groceries in the pantry below got ruined. Next house, the laundry room will be on the ground floor, as well as most of the living area. My knees work fine most days, but the occasional day when they aren’t, the stairs are not my friend. I liked the idea of stairs as a built-in exercise program, but it seems that our boys are the only ones capable of running them anymore.
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago

Rmom, I understand about the stairs. Ours is a split level, so only about 8 steps in either direction(up or down).
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Certainly, Lonewolf. Here you go.

GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Dry, I only say that because if the Cards go back to their losing way - which is more likely than not - then the stadium will be half empty again (except for Cowboy games). When that happens, they’ll probably end up in a city crying for a team, or LA, where the NFL really wants a team. My opinion is LA could care less about the NFL, or it would have a team already. Look how long it took Cleveland to get a team after Modell went in search of cash!

And the ex-Montrealer liked Lou Brock, too, even through he stole his share from my Spos!

That’s cool, Dry! I didn’t know he really goes around dressed like that all the time. I just saw that football commercial with Betty White in it for the first time. LOL. I forgot who brought it up, but someone mentioned it recently.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
I hate it when I make a spelling error and do not catch it immediately.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
And although I’m not up on chocolate, I do like chocolate filled with liqueurs, JFri

Grog, JFri, Carmy, Ever see those?
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Hmmmm. LuvH8 brought up Mae West (the movie star) a page or 2 ago. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen her, but I saw one of her movies recently. I don’t think I could fully appreciate her talent in my youth. She was good!
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
JFri creme de menthe, chocolate and Bookers works for me!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Dry, I don’t think you could watch a football game without seeing at least on E-Trade commercial. But, yes, they are good.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Who were the Sharks playing?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Colorada
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, thanks for the ice cream! Dry, I’ve seen the ETrade Ads. I liked the one with Lindsey. JFri, i hope the clouds are clean. I fell behind, there was a disturbance in the force over here.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
Colorado Avalanche. I like them.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Grog saw one today on a Sunday morning news show! And it was a new Etrade commercial, at least to me! It was cute, but they all are!
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Pretty wild way to lose a game, Ladywolf.
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
I like the sharks too, and feel bad for my Uncle Dan, who goes to every home game.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Carmy, don’t you hate the power of the dark side? It was wet at times here today, but no bih disturbance.
cleokaya over 14 years ago
Unfortunately, I have nothing to add. So I leave you all with a snerk.
carmy over 14 years ago
Don’t go Cleo! What did you watch tonight?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Ladywolf–It’s only 2-1 in games. Lots of time left yet.
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, it wasn’t a weather disturbance. It was the daughters!
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Don’t leave me here alone with these people, Carmy?
The Duke 1 over 14 years ago

GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
I got to hear about a little bit of the power of the dark side from a co-worker’s talk about her son. She lives on the same street as me, so I get to see her son on occasion. This kid’s a 7 year old Calvin.
She’s a working mom with a Calivin on her hands! Agggggggghhhhhhhhhhhh!

GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
What’s funny, but the 7 year old I speak of is an only child. Mom’s not talking about wanting to have another…at least not yet!
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
Grog I think that it was Buster Keaton.
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, if I were her, the last thing on my mind would be another child too.
carmy over 14 years ago

I was over at the Tech center on Friday when I heard about her very recent adventure when she got a call from her huband while she’s in a meeting with Japanese guests. I fought to keep a straight face, while she’s talking about the situation her husband was facing.
carmy over 14 years ago
Buy her a cattle prod for the kid!
ladywolf17 over 14 years ago
I wonder what it will be like when…………………..No, no, no, no, no! I better not think that. I might end up jinxing myself.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Carmy, it’s very refreshing these days to hear about parents who will spank and ground their child, though it doesn’t seem to work with this one any more than we assume it did not work with Calvin.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
LW18, you probably won’t get a decent night’s sleep until you boot your kid out in the real world when the time comes.
carmy over 14 years ago
Grog, another punishment is to confiscate all electronics. That’s a good one!
