just a quick “hi” today as i have to get my sister at the airport. Pete’s reaction is exactly how i felt the first time i read Lord of the Rings. i snickered at the line in the introduction that said the most common complaint Tolkein got was that it was too short, but when i reached the last word i thought, “That’s IT? What happens next?” etc.

Rmom - When I played golf a lot it made it nice for makeing tee times, knowing if conditions would be good a few days in advance. For golf it took into account temp., perciip., wind, etc.
Sojo - I’ve got a brother who loves to golf, so he probably looks that up on his Blackberry. In fact, that may explain why a guy that was anti-cell phones has one.
Hi, johnny!
Thanks, Terry! I just try to take each day as it comes, and go with the flow. It would be nice to have some answers, so I can make plans for the fall. Hate to take a job and then have to quit.
RMOM Aways love your comment. Be nice to Green Eggs and Ham, it taught me to read in the 60s. Now I volunteer teaching adults to read. The first book any of them read is Green Eggs and Ham, regardless of their level. On Theodus Suess Geisel’s birthday, we served the students Green Eggs and Ham. At their graduations, many recite it.. It’s easy. It’s fun. It gives them the confidence to learn and grow. Suess”s politic? Shut up, Lew, you’re in BT..
Thanks Grog - It will be a while before a upload some pics. May do some soon but what I’d like to upload I’ll need to scan in some slides and that will be awhile.
Lew - Thanks! I taught both my sons to read. Well, I taught the oldest which was a lot of work, since he had difficulties in that area. His younger (by 3+ yrs) brother learned “by osmosis” by playing with the phonics manipulatives and overhearing his brother’s lessons. I was so glad when the youngest learned, and started reading to his older brother. I like Dr. Suess, but after the 200th time, I almost had it memorized.
Can wordy Lew tell a long tale of woe? Get your No-Doze
SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED told me the AC was broke. Looked on the computer and didn’t find directions for 70s ere Ac. Real men don’t need instructions.I went to open that baby up. There was no little button that said “reset”
Back to computer. Checking balance healthy.
On phone to company and some clown tells me that because of ERA rules, my roof unit has gone from $2000 to $6000. I tell him it’s too hot for polar bears. He says it’s the asbestos. I ask the guy how he can charge me more for one without asbestos. He hangs up.
I work on this all day, mostly in bed with a fan and a who-dun-it. By nightfall I have the solution. I open 8 windows.. Now tell me why they put genius after my name
Eeeeeeuuuuuwwwwwww!!!!Yucky! Yucky! Yucky! Phoooeey!!! Gross! Make It Go Away!!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaarrrgh! Ugh! You’ve Got To Be Kidding! No We Aren’t Keeping Them!
Hey Fellow Baby, RL has been busy lately, but I just saw a news report on the Chubacabra in Hood County. I thought, wish I knew someone who lives in Texas and thought, I do. So, what’s your spin on that and how close are you to that county? Find it interesting, just like Sasquatch. I watch Discovery Channel and find these things at the least interesting and curious.
Fellow Baby, I knew Hood County sounded familiar, though I’ve never been there. It is just south-west of Tarrant County (Forth Worth). I’ve heard of the Chubacabra, but not lately or in connection with Hood County.

Hello, Doc. I’m done for the evening and am not leaving the house except to take Zoe and Doc H out.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Doc - Should I be reading “in between the lines” what you were doing when you weren’t sleeping?
COWBOY7 over 14 years ago
Rmom - - - Thanks for the link to the strip “Pardon My Planet”. That was a good one!

Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Lew - Thanks! I taught both my sons to read. Well, I taught the oldest which was a lot of work, since he had difficulties in that area. His younger (by 3+ yrs) brother learned “by osmosis” by playing with the phonics manipulatives and overhearing his brother’s lessons. I was so glad when the youngest learned, and started reading to his older brother. I like Dr. Suess, but after the 200th time, I almost had it memorized.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Doc- Oh, well… Reading lasts longer, except if the “inconceivable” isn’t.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Doc - Interesting, I think we have the same top 3, and possibly in the same order. SNERK
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Doc- LOL! I think I’d better not say anything other than getting old means the mind makes plans the body can’t carry out.

Can wordy Lew tell a long tale of woe? Get your No-Doze
SHE WHO MUST BE OBEYED told me the AC was broke. Looked on the computer and didn’t find directions for 70s ere Ac. Real men don’t need instructions.I went to open that baby up. There was no little button that said “reset” Back to computer.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Lew - Sounds expensive! I will say opening windows here doesn’t help a lot when it is still over 80F at night.

Hi, Dry!
Well, time for me to wrap it up for tonight. Good night, y’all!

Fellow Baby, I knew Hood County sounded familiar, though I’ve never been there. It is just south-west of Tarrant County (Forth Worth). I’ve heard of the Chubacabra, but not lately or in connection with Hood County.
