Sweet LADYWOLF being ever so careful of my health and weight, I’ll have the fruit basket with plenty of whipped cream. Do you think the good DOC is funning me about the whistling?

Good morning, Terry, & (((TRIBE)))
Hope everyone had a safe weekend and played nice.
Grog hope the vaca’s going well.
got a regular week to work. Been up north all weekend and my son’s basement flooded. The sump finally gave up the ghost and we got 1-3 ” of water. Will find out this afternoon how much is left to clean up.
For now, back to the old grindstone.
Sorry to hear about the sump pump failure, RwB. Ours was running like crazy with that heavy rain, but my sump worked good. This was only the second time since I repaired the system that it has been needed, so I still cringe when it gets that bad.
Ah, a bit more than crumbs leftover from breakfast. Banana waffles w/pecan syrup, some fruit, the apple fritter and Diet Dr. Pepper. Oh, and I mustn’t forget:
TEN OF EVERY ONE OF THE CHOCOLATE ITEMS!!
On vacation this week, hope to get more stuff done than last time. Finny thing, though, I just want to crawl back in bed. Legs are twitching like mad. Mebbe I’ll take a prozac and rest until they calm down.
Lonewolf It’s not hydration. I have restless leg syndrome in spades. It’s not just at night. I go through spells of the twitches 2-3 times a week. Usually a prozac will ease the twitching. I also have an upper body ‘twitch’ which can bring my head down almost to the keyboard. Again, requip with the occasional porzac keeps it under control.
Anyway, it’s calming down now. Back to the salt mine here…or in this case the junk desk. I don’t have a junk drawer, I have a junk desk……
Morning Everyone!!! Hope you all had a good weekend.
Quaby - I have a friend with RLS who swears by green grapes, especially at night. She’s been able to stop taking her meds as long as she keeps grapes on hand.
Had a big thunder boomer just go through, knocked out the power for about 10 seconds and I had to reboot the cable modem. But hey, I’m up and running without a 90 minute phone call to Comcast.
Yes, I saw the post. Interesting idea. The grapes aren’t always available, and most of the time not affordable. And I think with needing 1mg in the morning and 2 mg at night with additional drugs during the day, I don’t think grapes will do a good job.
Quaby - Just a thought. I know it worked for her and she had lots of frequent troubles. Here grapes are almost always available and cheaper than meds, but maybe not so for you.
Just stopped in to check on you. Keep behaving. Just one little piece of advice, talking about TV may lead to hard core addiction. That watercooler talk may seem innocent enough, but before you know it you’re feeding $150/month cable habit. Beware!
Doctor Toon - After my divorce (a long time ago) I didn’t have a TV for 1 and a half years but listeded to a lot of music. I now have Skyangel that has radio, TV and on demand shows and movies over the internet. The Discovery channel had a contract with them into 2014 but broke their contract with them a while back so lost 5 channels. As it’s a large company with bigger lawyers Skyangel can’t do anything about it.
Rmom - Somewhat, but I have high speed cable and most of those problems are from their servers I think. It’s getting better and as their adding new channels I will probably keep it. I use it over my wireless router but a friend that had it with DSL said he had less buffering problems after connecting it directly. I don’t think the buffering is on my end. Once I was downloading files to my laptop, watching Skyangel, and downloading a large file to my desktop at more than 2 megs a second at the same time!
Sojo - I still have her equipment here because we bought it rather than getting in a long contract, as her health was not good at that point. Any idea what I can do with it? Money would be nice, but at this point, I’d give it away if someone could use it.
Rmom - I got mine free by staying with them 18 months. Their complete pakeage of everthing is $25 a month, the unit I think is $150? You might try Ebay if you have an account there (there is a place in town that does that for you for a percentage). Or you might ask people in your church, that might be where most people would be that might be interested. The religious channels have a lot of duplication and a lot of health, wealth and prosperity shows which I don’t agree with but some regular shows they have you can’t get without getting a large cable or dish package.
Sojo - Yeah, my husband & I both have ebay accounts, and I had thought about that. But I do like the idea of offering it to someone at church, because I’ve got a bunch of cords, remotes, etc. and am not 100% positive what they all go to. At least if it goes to someone at church, it would be easy to get back together with them again if need be.
I agree there are several shows with theology I don’t agree with, but they do have some programs worth watching. We can’t get high enough speed internet to use it here, but if we did, and we weren’t almost finished homeschooling, I might be interested in seeing what the homeschool channel has on it. But with the youngest starting college this fall, no need for it.
Rmom - I don’t think there’s a home school channel now. Some channels have been dropped and a lot of new ones added. Their websight has a lot of info that would be good for anyone interested in it.
I have Verizon wireless ~ unlimited on my cell phone. I figured out how to post comments on GoComics but not pictures. Also have a 2G hotspot, but I don’t know how to access usage yet so I don’t go over.
Sojo - I didn’t realize they’d dropped the homeschooling channel. Although, I did see several programs that would be great for homeschoolers, like Wallbuilders. I’ve heard David Barton speak in person several times, and brought the kids some of those times. I’m not really into watching TV, and don’t really want another bill. But if I was able and wanted to watch TV, that would be my first choice. At least between the radio and what we can access via the internet, we don’t feel deprived.
Rmom - I also try not to watch much TV. I sometimes think of not having it but some shows are good and it is cheaper than anything else (except whats free). There are some shows (like with Chuck Missler) and movies I wouldn’t of known about if I didn’t have it.
Sojo - If I lived alone, I’d probably be more likely to consider it, as I like having something to listen to, if I’m not reading. I can get AFR Talk out of Ark City, which I like to listen to frequently, I don’t know if they have Chuck Missler on it, but I have heard of him. I often listen to the radio programs either live streaming or archived, but the live streaming doesn’t work as well with our somewhat slower high speed internet connection.
I usually have the radio on in the morning and switch to TV in late afternoon, but while those are on I do a lot of reading, mostly on the computer. I can check comments usually often while I’m reading on the computer. Watching DVDs I like if I have time.
We can’t get the free channels right now - too old of TV and didn’t bother with the converter box. I’m trying to clear out the “junky” room so I will have a place for a flat screen & Wii exercising. When the internet goes down during a storm, it would be nice to stll see radar. My kids watch DVD’s & VHS, so they hope to get to use the flat screen for that. Not that I mind, but I think I’m either going to have to put a door with a lock on that room, if the TV doesn’t have a way to keep it shut off when I don’t want it on, because my kids like to stay up until the wee hours of the morning. I watch a little of what they play on the TV, but it is usually while I’m doing something in the kitchen. (The TV is in the dining area.)
I’m always multi-tasking it seems, about the only time I’m not is when I’m sitting away from my computer reading something printed. Which I need to do. Checked out a historical fiction book (that I’ve read before, but with my lack of memory, I don’t remember any of it) for my youngest to read. Since he likes to chat with me about what is going on in the book, I need to stay ahead of him, so he doesn’t spoil it for me. Guess that’s one advantage of losing my memory - even having read the book before, I am still surprised by the plot!
I have a converter box also (my TV is about 30 years old) and have an amplified indoor antenna so I can get most stations here but I usually don’t watch them.
Ladywolf - If you don’t like AT&T you might not be stuck with it. I have heard of companies that buy and sell contracts. If they have every sent out changes to their contract, that voids any contract you have for a length of time. There may be other options unless it’s a matter of reception coverage. Of course, maybe you are stuck with it! :-)
I’m lucky that I have been with Cox for a long time. It does cost more than some IP’s but as they increase their speed I keep the same rate without having to pay more.
Sojo - Most people I know in Wichita who use the internet much do have Cox. No cable out here, but my hubby has his internet at the trailer through the cable company in that town.
Grog - Now that you mention it, I do remember the airplanes. Sorry! That’s the type of museum my hubby likes to go to, for some strange reason he doesn’t like going to a quilt museum or other types that I might like.
Well, my son said I could read on that book, so I’d better get going. Good night!
I slept last night, did a drug run and played computer & visited Mom and Gma. I bought mom a Bluetooth and today I programmed it for her. She was talking on the phone while driving without hands free.
Next Monday, I go in for a sleep test. I hope I pass.
I don’t know if I can’t fall asleep, I wonder if it counts as a fail or a retest. I hope they don’t have a requirement on how long you have to sleep for.
Grog I thought you were gone until Wed? Glad you had a nice time. I would have loved to have seen Irving Stadium back in the Tom Landry/Roger Staubach days. Had a client farmer whose daughter still lives in Irving, he has since sadly passed away, wonderful man, anyway, he stopped in the office once after he had been to see her one time, with all these items he had picked up for me at the Stadium store, including Roger’s autograph, a Cowboy tshirt, hat, key chain, and on and on. I was SO surprised. I offered to pay him for all that, and he told me “Don’t be silly!” I was so tickled! Even though I hate the Cowboys now, thanks to Jerry Jones, I still have all that stuff, more now to remember Max by and his thoughfulness than anything else.
I deleted my comment from earlier. I’m sorry but it was not my intention to tell everyone my business. I’m blaming it on a “duh” moment. Thank you all for your concern. I will be okay, I’m in good hands.
Well I can’t complain about a 6-day week-end Fellow Baby, but it’ll be the last one I get until at least October - and I still have 18 days still left to take.
Well my winters here aren’t usually all that bad, Fellow Baby., so I don’t mind taking the time off then even though I know that I usually can’t get away in the summer. Just lucky this year.
Even when I was working in Montreal, most of my time was taken in the winter months. What wasn’t used for studying for exams was used for a Southern get-away.
But I think I was the first one out with my baseball glove in April though. As soon as the Hockey playoff game was over (which usually involved the Canadiens) I’d be outside bouncing balls off the bricks.
LOL! I hear ya!
Well, since I’m not off until Wed, I guess I best get some rest myself! Glad you had a good time, Fellow Baby! Goodnight. I’ll see ya’ when I see ya’!

Rmom - I also try not to watch much TV. I sometimes think of not having it but some shows are good and it is cheaper than anything else (except whats free). There are some shows (like with Chuck Missler) and movies I wouldn’t of known about if I didn’t have it.

Bye Doctor Toon, have a good evening!

But Doc!!!! You barely said anything.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Sojo - If I lived alone, I’d probably be more likely to consider it, as I like having something to listen to, if I’m not reading. I can get AFR Talk out of Ark City, which I like to listen to frequently, I don’t know if they have Chuck Missler on it, but I have heard of him. I often listen to the radio programs either live streaming or archived, but the live streaming doesn’t work as well with our somewhat slower high speed internet connection.

I mainly watch DVDs and Videos (yes, it is true!!), but I have a a converter box. So I can get the free channels.
George Arnold over 14 years ago
I usually have the radio on in the morning and switch to TV in late afternoon, but while those are on I do a lot of reading, mostly on the computer. I can check comments usually often while I’m reading on the computer. Watching DVDs I like if I have time.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
I’m always multi-tasking it seems, about the only time I’m not is when I’m sitting away from my computer reading something printed. Which I need to do. Checked out a historical fiction book (that I’ve read before, but with my lack of memory, I don’t remember any of it) for my youngest to read. Since he likes to chat with me about what is going on in the book, I need to stay ahead of him, so he doesn’t spoil it for me. Guess that’s one advantage of losing my memory - even having read the book before, I am still surprised by the plot!

I’m stuck with AT&T wireless.
George Arnold over 14 years ago
I have a converter box also (my TV is about 30 years old) and have an amplified indoor antenna so I can get most stations here but I usually don’t watch them.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
I can’t get DSL or cable here, just am glad we can get a signal from a tower to get some sort of high speed.
George Arnold over 14 years ago
Ladywolf - If you don’t like AT&T you might not be stuck with it. I have heard of companies that buy and sell contracts. If they have every sent out changes to their contract, that voids any contract you have for a length of time. There may be other options unless it’s a matter of reception coverage. Of course, maybe you are stuck with it! :-)
George Arnold over 14 years ago
I’m lucky that I have been with Cox for a long time. It does cost more than some IP’s but as they increase their speed I keep the same rate without having to pay more.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Sojo - Most people I know in Wichita who use the internet much do have Cox. No cable out here, but my hubby has his internet at the trailer through the cable company in that town.

Good evening everyone.
I’m back.
Did you sleep today, LuvH8?
Ladywolf, I was thinking of getting AT&T wireless. It’s got to be better than satelite - especially this afternoon. What’s wrong with AT&T wireless?

Hi, Grog! I see you posted lots of pictures of trains on PB. Where did you see them in Dallas?
George Arnold over 14 years ago
Hi Grog
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Hi Rmom, trains wasn’t all I posted, but those particular photos were taken at the Fair Park, which is also home of the Cotton Bowl.
I also took photos of the Cavenaugh Flight Museum in Addison and Cowboy Stadium in Arlington.

Hi, Sojourner.
Smiley Rmom over 14 years ago
Grog - Now that you mention it, I do remember the airplanes. Sorry! That’s the type of museum my hubby likes to go to, for some strange reason he doesn’t like going to a quilt museum or other types that I might like. Well, my son said I could read on that book, so I’d better get going. Good night!

I slept last night, did a drug run and played computer & visited Mom and Gma. I bought mom a Bluetooth and today I programmed it for her. She was talking on the phone while driving without hands free.
Next Monday, I go in for a sleep test. I hope I pass.

I’m back to work Wednesday. But I came back today to take care of a few things before I went back to work.
I’m glad T.O is gone. As for Jones, he won’t be around forever. I just hope I outlast him!

GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
Well my winters here aren’t usually all that bad, Fellow Baby., so I don’t mind taking the time off then even though I know that I usually can’t get away in the summer. Just lucky this year.
Even when I was working in Montreal, most of my time was taken in the winter months. What wasn’t used for studying for exams was used for a Southern get-away.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
Did you ever ski when you were in Montreal, Fellow Baby?
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
No, I wasn’t into the winter sports unless I could watch a hockey game from a warm room in the house.
GROG Premium Member over 14 years ago
But I think I was the first one out with my baseball glove in April though. As soon as the Hockey playoff game was over (which usually involved the Canadiens) I’d be outside bouncing balls off the bricks.
Dry and Dusty Premium Member over 14 years ago
LOL! I hear ya! Well, since I’m not off until Wed, I guess I best get some rest myself! Glad you had a good time, Fellow Baby! Goodnight. I’ll see ya’ when I see ya’!
