Rmom was wondering about my time zone. it’s Eastern Time, same as New York or Detroit. hopeandjoy2 was wondering about pronunciation of my name. i pronounce it “wiseguy” and there are 3 y’s to indicate the plural because there were 3 magi (as well as 3 stooges) and the name is sort of a tribute to both trios. as LuvH8 and others can tell you, i don’t mind any contractions of the name as long as i can tell it’s me being referred to. end of pedantry for this post.

Rmom you really missed out on rain yesterday late afternoon. Even when I got home I couldn’t go on my walk. SW of Wichita I drove through blinding, pouring, blowing rain and hail. Hard traveling. Time I got fairly close to Mid Continent AP it quieted down. Daughter of Admin Assist I work at pt called said they where really getting it. I just hoped no Tornado would happen I didn’t want to get stuck where I work at. It’s happened twice so far. The Admin told higher up if my hours where up it’s up to me what I do. no, Sojourner it isn’t. even though my shift approximates a normal day with wake and sleep periods, i have still gained about 60 unhealthy pounds in the dozen years i’ve been working on it. not the only reason, but it is a contributing factor. it was even worse during the short period i was on midnights.

The shift workers here start their shifts at 4:30 for twelve hours. Some actually prefer the night shifts. The nature of their work for the most part doesn’t allow them to get too overweight.

Weather report: still no rain–each day the chances get delayed about 24 hours, for some reason. Now it’s due tonight thru Friday night, esp. Thurs night. Go figure.

At least it’s cooling off a little better at night. And the weekend thru next week is going to be about 10°F cooler.

MontanaLady, I’m in West Dakota, on I-94. In fact, I’m mentioned, albeit not by name, in Kathleen Norris’s first best-seller Dakota: A Spiritual Geography. (I may never write a best-seller, but at least I have appeared in one!)

BMonk Gravy meat. You take hamburger, dry stuffing and onions, mash it all together until it’s fairly even, then fry up as small patties or meatballs. From that pan they go into a pot of gravy where the stuffing soaks up the gravy. I cook it up in a crock pot so it can simmer a long time. It freezes well, too.

Frankr and & LuvH8 I have a program called Puzzle Master 4. I can take any jpg image and convert it to a jigsaw puzzle. It only goes up to 400 or so pieces but the oddness can get.,,,really odd. I enjoy it.

Here is the recipe for a breakfest item I invented and made as a kid. Make a full pancake batter mix (I used Bisquick). Use 1/3 to make a skillet size pancake. Add coco (to taste like chocolate cake) to the rest of the mix to make 2 skillet sized chocolate pancakes. Place one chocolate pancake on a plate and cover with grape jelly. Place regular pancake on it and cover it with peanut butter. Place remaining chocolate pancake on that and cover with marshmellow fluff then chocolate chips.Bon Appétit! May serve it as one item (like I ate) or cut up into pieces like a pie.
