I’m having trouble trying to decide who I want to win the Eagles/Redskins game. I really don’t like either team. Of course “don’t like” would be an understatement.

I don’t really care on that one either. McNabb and Vick are both good.

I would really love for the Lions to beat the Packers and help out the Bears, but I don’t think that is happening today.

You never know ♠Lonewolf♠. The Lions are not as bad as their record would indicate. And they almost beat the Bears in week 1.

Awesome finish to the Ravens game. They scored with about 30 seconds left to win. My boss is a Steelers fan (Hehehe)!

Reading the comments about the recession yesterday, I had several thoughts:

West Dakota is about the only region of the country that is seeing a strong economy, due to the oil patch resurgence. (We even saw a small increase of median imcome this past year.) Which, of course, brings its own problems–like roads torn to dust by truck traffic, more rowdies causing trouble, etc. (Can’t really blame the workers who want to blow off steam; it’s the ones who are violent or criminal who are dangerous.)

My own line of business is pretty much recession-proof. Anyone who wants to get into it, and has the character and calling to last, can–and there’s always more work than ministers to do it.

Shoot, we can’t even hold out for a higher salary. OTOH, not too many are foolish enough to go into the clergy for the money…

Well back to football viewing position. Be back later.

Footbal/smootball! I went to bed with God’s team losing the first game in the 10th by 1 lousy run and woke up to hear they slaughtered the damned Yankees in the10th by a run. At the moment, God is again giving divine retrebution with a score of Sox 8, NYY 3. Point of English, do you have to put “damned” before NYY or just before damned Yankees?. Should I even put damned Yankees in upper case? I was an English Major in a New England school (Yale/Harvard, take your pick) and they never informed us.

I find I frighten so many people by just being me it is hard to think of anything scarier.

Hello Tribe I went to WalMart and am now broke once again. But we’ve food in the pantry and fridge, rent and car payment and I’m on paid vacation this week. What could make it better?

Yes, I dare say I think I’m on the upswing. My leg looks less swollen, I’m sleeping better and my energy is slightly up. I’ve conquered vanilla and rice puddings and have the recipes for chocolate and butterscotch. And the season finale of Ice Road Truckers is tonight.

Happy Sunday tribe.

Home phones went out Thursday night after almost 8” of rain. Called Cox and they sent someone out today. Got the phone in the kitchen working, but the extension in the den (and all the cordless ones paired with it) still wouldn’t. Said it was the line and could put in new one for $60 or could start paying $5 a month line charge.

Said no thanks, ran that one myself and can do it again. Went to store and bought new line. Attached outside, crawled under the house and ran it to the den. Attached inside. Still nothing. Phone that worked in the kitchen, wouldn’t work there. So, figured it might be the jack. Back to the store for new jack. Still nothing.

Put the phone with all the cordless extensions into the kitchen so those now all work, but still nothing in the den. Don’t want to pay Cox $60 to come back out. Friend from church is going to come tomorrow night to be sure I haven’t done anything boneheaded (I’ve checked everything 3 times red/red; green/green).

Anyone have any ideas?

@LuvChaos, that’s how guys show they care about you: they fix things. It keeps us from having to listen, and feel, and talk, and all those icky girl-type things.

Well, unless it’s listening to sports, and feeling about our team, or the team we hate, or talking about what they should have done–that’s manly stuff.

And then there’s me: I don’t particularly care about sports. I don’t even know how many points a field goal gets in hockey, or a home run in football.

I too, am rooting for the ‘Skins game, Saucy. I want McNabb to win in Philly.

Hi, tribe! Okay, football fans, did OU win or lose yesterday, and who were they playing?

Sir Lew, I lost my love for the game of Baseball the year that the strike was called for with my Montreal Expos 7 games up over its division rivals. That strike killed baseball in Montreal and sent it on its way to Washington shortly thereafter. I still like the game to a degree, but the thrill is gone. And since the Sox were eliminated from playoff contention earlier this, baseball is dead in my head. Baseball-schmaschball season is over until next year.

So now wilth the baseball season over, I ask myself if either the Cowboys or Texans will be playing in the Supersnore in Big D in February? Or will it be the Bears? Or the Chefs (intentionally spelled wrong). Neither the Saints or the Colts impress.

What the heck??? I hit refresh to get new comments and thought it was quiet, then notice it said less than a minute ago.

Anyway, just wanted to tell *Lonewolf I watch Ice Road Truckers episode several times during the week. I will probably stay up for the repeat ‘cause I will be so glad to see that vastly entertaining but driving dangerously Polar Bear get his comeuppance. (whoa, spelled that right the 1st time!!). And Lisa’s done so well this season, she really wants to excel and I bet Carlisle has noted that because they appear to be subtly nurturing her.

Thanks, Grog! I think I saw Sojo was rooting for them yesterday. My brothers will be happy about it. I don’t follow sports at all, as you probably know. However, I did hear on a ICT station the other day, that they think KC Chiefs are going to be surprisingly good this year. Not that I care, but in the ICT area, many root for them.

The whole NFC still looks pretty wide open. It’s still very early in the season, but a Bears win gives them a good leg up on the rest of the pack.

I kinda hope the rookie, Ray, wins the haul count. He has busted his bleeep, but he took a few chances that even he knew were risky. But, his attitude’s good and he’s willing to work, like Lisa and Alex.

Next olympics there will be rugby with 7 players per team, less than regular. Some collegs have also started 7 player teams. I don’t know the normal number of players but rugby union has a few more than regolar rugby. I think it also puts more emphasis on keeping the action going. It’s a world wide league that’s a lot of fun to watch when you understand the laws (rules). There were 21 laws when I watched it but there are 22 now. It’s easier to learn than football, baseball or basketball.

Me thinks LuvChaos dosn’t care for foo ball! :-)
