Happy Anniversary, Rmom…..Always glad to hear about happiness!!!
We’re hitting the road tomorrow, on our way to San Clemente, and then San Diego for the next batch of Thanksgiving dinners! We’ll be meeting our youngest son’s future in-laws on Thursday…….we’re really looking forward to it.
Good morning and thanks, tribe!Kab - Cute turkey! To answer your question, last year my hubby & I went out of town and stayed in a nice hotel room for a couple of nights. Just a quiet, romantic celebration. Unfortunately, since our anniversary landed on Thanksgiving, we were limited on our dining choices that evening.
Thanks, Hope&Joy! It has been tricky some years finding time to celebrate since it is so close to (or on) Thanksgiving. But with his current job, that has made it easier for him to have a few days off to come home, without having to use vacation days. And since both of my parents are deceased, we don’t have the family obligations like we used to. (His parents live in FL, and his only sibling is in SD.)
It helps that our boys are old (& responsible) enough to leave at home without supervision. Now, we just have to figure out what we want to do, and can afford.
Years ago we had our 25th anniversary very small turn out and where we use to live and was advertised in paper no one acknowledge our aniversary. When our parents had there we had it at their home 200 showed up not all at once and my idiot sister headed off with friends. Ours was years ago.
Thanks, Kab & Frankr!Kab - My parents had a big reception for their 25th & 50th anniversaries. However, they had a surprise wedding with no reception, so Mom was making up for that. (They got married during WW2, she wasn’t pregnant.)
We’ve gone to one 25th reception for friends, but decided that wasn’t what we wanted to do to celebrate. Mostly because I’d have to do all the work, as my sons wouldn’t have the first idea how to go about planning one. I had hoped we could take a longer, nicer trip than we did, but between work responsibilities and finances, that just wasn’t possible.
Happy Anniversary Rmom. We are celebrating my parent’s 50th next week. Bro. & sis are flying in from out of state for the night and we are doing a nice restaurant for dinner. Mom and dad are talking about maybe taking a short trip, but haven’t decided yet.
I watched TV!!! It sucks you in! I now understand why alcohol is good for colds. They said stress makes it easier to get sick and harder to get better. Since people reduce stress by drinking they get better faster. Wonder how much I need to drink?

During this coming holiday please remember that it will end eventually. A jail term for making your relative be quiet for longer than thirty seconds might be thirty years. A glass of wine with dinner will help counteract food poisoning. Line your pockets and purses with handy sandwich bags for those ‘special’ dishes. Take pictures of embarassing moments to share with your friends here under the Big Top. Oh! They will never know for sure it wasn’t an accident.
Sorry HopeandJoy, Serenasakitty’s comment reminded me that though there are plenty of us that really are dumb or at least a little lost about our computers; there are others who pretend so they don’t have to do things for themselves. I was trying to say it in a funny way and failed.

Ladyhawk - Congratulations to your parents! My parents were married for 58 years when my Dad died.
Hope&Joy - In the storm spotter classes I’ve taken, they say tornadoes can & have happened in every month of the year. I think my area was at least under a tornado watch sometime last January.
Well, I need to chat with my hubby, and figure out where we’re going to eat tonight. Especially before we stuff ourselves with the fresh hot rolls I just finished baking.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. I will have an extremly relaxing day. My sister/hubby are bring main course of turkiey I think ham plus other tasty dishes. Bad part she can’t have on caffeen or anything with acids. I don’t have to prepare too much and it will be bitter cold am.
Curious for those bubbles once say I type words do you copy and paste which seems hard way to comments?
How does one type upside down? All new to me.
My parents never reached 50 years. They celbrated 11 years ago 45 in MICU unit then month later my dad went heavenly home. He knew it was coming months before then his last Thanksgiving.
Hi to all BT Family from your long-lost cousin-poster. May you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving tomorrow filled with small joys and minimal frustrations!
Hi, celecca!
Thanks for the compliment, Lil’ Sis! - I told my son that at least some of my “invisible friends” enjoy my sunset pictures, even if he doesn’t.
Hope&joy - All I can tell is that the storms seem to be coming from Tulsa, and heading NE. I’m glad they are missing you.
I stopped at the library today, and with this cold front moving through, I think curling up in the recliner under a quilt and reading a good book sounds great!
I should be fairly busy in the kitchen tomorrow, but since it is MY kitchen and no guests, I’ll try to sneak away occasionally.
Rmom and Celecca I agree a book, a blanket and a comfey chair sounds just right. One day soon!! Glad you have some library books plus the 4 day weekend.
Asking the Cowboys to win 3 in a row may be a bit too much to ask for though. If the Saints win, it won’t bother me. Losing to divisional rivals does bother me.
Hello I have been watching TV and tapes. Some shows I had to wait on and more importantly pleasure reading books. Curiosty Celecca and Rmom what type of books do you read? I don’t remember the author but was rivited highly interesting untill the end where the end tied into the beggining and no I didn’t cheat. If I read at the end from the beggining would not make much sense.

Hi, Celecca!!! Good to see you here!
And a Happy Thanksgiving to you to! Please stop by more often.

Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!George Arnold almost 14 years ago
Hello celecca! Ditto to you!
celeconecca almost 14 years ago
Hey Lonewolf! I got out of the habit of stopping by when my time on the site didn’t coincide with anyone else’s. I miss people here!
Rmom - I have 10 new library books and a four day weekend. Oh rapture! Oh joy!

Hi Hopeandjoy. Happy Thanksgiving to you.
Asking the Cowboys to win 3 in a row may be a bit too much to ask for though. If the Saints win, it won’t bother me. Losing to divisional rivals does bother me.

I am now watching a guy on TCM, (a special short) who has never carved a turkey. Hillarious!!!

Hello I have been watching TV and tapes. Some shows I had to wait on and more importantly pleasure reading books. Curiosty Celecca and Rmom what type of books do you read? Me I like romance books, though at garage sales people have odd taste. I finished with one book called The Oath. I don’t remember the author but was rivited highly interesting untill the end where the end tied into the beggining and no I didn’t cheat. If I read at the end from the beggining would not make much sense.

Quiet night, everybody must be getting ready for Thanksgiving.
COWBOY7 almost 14 years ago
Supposed to be 36° and rain tonight, but snow and rain mix tomorrow!
LittleSister18 almost 14 years ago
That’s downright cold Big Brother.
George Arnold almost 14 years ago
Tomorrow night it should get down to the teens here. I went to the store late this afternoon and the cold front started to come through right after I got back. It dropped more than 10° in 20 min. and is still cooling down. Thank goodness for global warming! :-)
COWBOY7 almost 14 years ago
Not as cold as where HopeandJoy is, Li’l Sister!
LittleSister18 almost 14 years ago
Still cold is cold.
LittleSister18 almost 14 years ago
