My comment today is: GoComics really needs to put a magnifier on this strip!!!* This is a very popular strip. Many people stop to comment regularly and even once in awhile, far more than many other strips. And, many of us are older and already using reading glasses. If one cannot read the captions even with one’s reading glasses on, something is wrong. *GoComics** executives are probably a bunch of 20-somethings who still have superhuman eyesight (like I used to have…sigh), and have no understanding of how difficult it is for the rest of us. This situation really borders on disrespect for the customers, I think. I propose that we all contact GoComics and demand magnifiers for ALL comic strips! VIVA LA REVOLUCION!!!
You know, there probably are different ways all of us could magnify the strips depending on what systems we’re all using. You’re lucky to know how to do yours. I wish I knew how to do mine. But, even so, the magnifier that GoComics makes available on some strips should be made available on all, so that everyone can enjoy their comics without having to do anything but click on the magnifying glass at the bottom of the strip (or, as my husband discovered, left-clicking on the strip itself — who knew?)At any rate, I’m very glad that you’re not running into any problems.
Enjoy another beautiful New England rainy day!!! My husband’s got a long face — no golf today!
1. What got you all choked up? I was not able to backtrack and pinpoint what could have made a Canadian so sentimental…?
2.Best Bone of Yesterday’s Comments…..JUDGES?
B-1 (applause)
3. You think it took an infinity to turn your monitor on its side???…….Wait til you try to turn it back right side up!(What is “back right side up” ?)
4. Is that the same “space bar” that was in Star Wars ? I never noticed what the business was next door…
ANNOUNCEMENT
StelBel’s graduation party will be held here, tonight at 7:30 to 7:45 p.m. (eastern). Also accepting contributions to graduate school tuition fund (The x_Tech Graduate School for Text Formatting is so-o-o-o expensive!)
hey Stel ol’ Bel,I missed the refresher on how to include pictures in the comments like you have been doing latelycan you tell me the procedure? and, if this is repeating something that everyone here already knows…….me sorry!me never do againpromise!
also stel ol’ bel, since you seem somewhat of an expert, how do you type in something that you can click onlike, if I wanted to make my websiteartofbryan.comclickable in here, rather than make it necessary to cut and pastehuh? huh? tell me! tell me!
So, to put a picture or graphic in, the easiest way to start off with is by going to photobucket.com (no need to get an account). You’ll find detailed instructions if you go to Citizen Dog on these dates:
3/23/2012 and more details the following day, 3/24/2012 both in the comments section, posted by StelBel, but originally instructed by x_Tech!
Also, my above comment to Dry for directions to resize with original x_Tech re-sizing instructions on CD 2/13/2012
(instructions for making a “LINK” will follow in a little while. I have to make meatloaf for lunch and get it into the oven. Too much information???)
Me, too. It’s still my favorite place to go. If I can’t find what I want, then I go to Bing, but photobucket pretty much fills the bill most often, and it’s so easy!
I could not find x_Techs original instructions anywhere in my “notebook” (story of my life — I can’t ever find anything when I need or want it), so this is the way I do it. I’m sure if x_Tech sees this and spots a mistake, he will be kind enough to correct it (or add something if I’ve missed it).
TYPE: <a href= (the only space is between the “a” and the “href”)
Then, right after the equal sign and without a space, PASTE in the URL address (that, of course, you’ve already COPIED) within quotation marks, so it’s: =“URL”
Again, no spaces unless I say so! LOL really, no spaces
Then, TYPE: >whatever link name you want(the “whatever link name you want” will be the only thing to appear in blue AFTER you click SUBMIT, and that will be what people will click on.)
Then, right after your last word of the link name, TYPE < / a >
I typed that last bit with spaces so I could show you. You will be typing it WITHOUT SPACES!!! The only space in the whole thing is between the “a” and the “href”
So, this is what it should look like, BUT the only space you’ll have is between the “a” and the “href” (otherwise, the only thing that would appear here is a crazy link!):
< a href = “URL address” > LINK NAME < / a >
remember: only space is between the “a” and “href”.
A helpful guide is click Pibgorn Style Guide . I had forgotten that I kept this even at a time that I didn’t understand it, but now, as we all have advanced, it makes more sense to me>
Even when I zoom in on it, the text is almost too fuzzy to read.
The problem, of course, is that nobody who is in a position to do anything about it is ever going to read any of these comments, or even so much as hear that they exist.
It IS worth it to go to Bing. Keep trying. If you still have a problem, I’ll tell you how I do it, and you can decide if you want to try my unorthodox method. LOL
“Did you get the “hugs” connection? (hint: 9-0)…..(((hugs))))”…………………………………………………..Actually, I didn’t get it until just now reading your hint. And now it’s so clear, don’t know where my head was before!
Too many bars in that neighborhood!! lol BTW, if we each contribute to the other, we cancel each other out. I guess we’ll each have to look elsewhere for funding!
I’d go to bed myself now, but I know if I do, I’ll be up at 3 or 4, so I’ll stay up a bit longer! Maybe the more tired I get, I can sleep longer, or not. :-(
Yes cleo, quite a lot, and this late at night, I won’t be able to catch up, and the next 2 days will be busy for me. So I hope I didn’t miss too much! Have a good night CD’ers, Rest well!
