@painedsmile, Very true. Don’t be the one who shows weakness by rattling your cup. And never yelp if you take a sip that is too hot.

    Where there’s straw there’s a fire hazard.

Who’ll take the next sip? Or will they sip in unison as in Last Of the Summer Wine?

    Hi everybody…..

    I know, I know…. I’m late again.

    Sigh…..

But at least I can say “Hi” to any newcomers…

just in case anybody followed my Ballard St link from yesterday…

and let them know that we’re not just sipping coffee at the Markly’s…..

we’re also commenting on the August 21st  2018 “CLEO and COMPANY”

    it’s on Sherpa:

And today’s strip being a Tuesday one, we have another great poster by StelBel.

“The Scarecrow " is part of a series of posters for the 1902 Broadway production of “The Wizard of Bassetland.”

    What a beautiful production.

Stel does posters and such every Tuesday and Thursday…. maybe we’ll get some more in this series.

They’re re-runs… but if you haven’t seen them, they’re brand new!

Say, Stel…. did you know the humans copied this???

    What gall!

But look…. how can this weak, floppy human go see the Wizard of Bassetland?

And who the heck is Fred Stone?

Do we ever get to see the actual Wizard of Bassetland? I’ll bet he’ll look just like Nighthawks!

I see a problem with that scarecrow, Stel — It’s too cute to scare anything!
