We have to little yorkshire terriers and a jack russell in our neighborhood. They are forever barking and running at everything that moves. My lab is hilarious when they come running at her. She totally ignores them as if they were either not there or to inconsequential to pay attention to. As my dog has aged, she has mellowed out. If she were younger she probably would have decided to put them in their place.

There are some annoying little dogs like that in this neighborhood.

I bet calling him “cute” would just ruffle his ego more.

My big guy thinks they are funny. My female would like to grab them by the neck and shake them.
But Louie, I am sure you are right, she looks VERY suspicious.

Claude and Cleo: BUSTED. But I love the little tiptoes and Cleo’s dancing eyes!

Well, Cleo, since she knows we’re here already, let’s finish off that leftover roast.

You can just see that Louie puts a lot of effort into his bark. Probably great cardio and a core strengthener.

Really enjoy Cleo’s eye thing in panel two.

Do you think Cleo & Claude will ever realize that they probably caused her to activate the alarm set-up with all the"Ssshhhing" and “ruffing”?

Wow… think I dozed off on the way here….
way past my bedtime…
so I’ll just let the newcomers know….
this is where we’re commenting on
the April 29th  2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”
Â
Which, as ever, you’ll find on Sherpa
http://www.comicssherpa.com/site/feature?uc_comic=cscwy
Â
This is another one from the vault….
I remember it, possibly wrongly, as one of the first animations,
not all that long after StelBel was offered the exciting position at Cleo and Company that she still occupies.
Â
Oh, those heady days of discovery!
Flashing colors and lights, moving eyeballs… beautiful reflections glowing on the faces.
Followed not long after by fully animated stories….
and upright basset hounds with opposable thumbs, and the power of speech.
Â
My 14-pound Schipperke wasn’t afraid to bark her head off at creatures 10 times or more her size….
but occasionally cowered from a much smaller dog.
My theory is that people, along with truly big dogs, as mentioned in previous comments, tend to ignore a little pipsqueak.. and just walk on by.
Whereas a 20 pound Jack Russell (one of the neighborhood dogs she apparently feared) didn’t hesitate to attack.
Â
She was probably convinced that her ferocious demeanor had worked on the people and bigger dogs…
so she was going to keep on successfully driving them away every time.

At least Clara didn’t put a boxing glove in there with a strong spring on it.

What a sweet, innocent little doggie and her daddy. That is until she picks up the habit of using all kinds of blasters.

Clearly an early strip — in panel two Cleo hasn’t even learned how to hunt wabbits…

I love how Claude and Clara keep sitting on the couch. Must take a bomb blast for them to get up.
