Then you start thinking about the ā€˜hereafterā€™.

You walk into a room and say ā€œNow, what am I here afterā€.

If you have children under the age of 3, they call it ā€œmomnesiaā€ because taking care of your kids takes up so much of your brain, there isnā€™t room for much else.

Look on the bright side, Clara. It could be the evil cat instead of Cleo.

Welcome, newcomers, Cleo fans and puzzlersā€¦.

Weā€™ve got a new puzzle to solve and comment on

    in the August 24th Ā 2019 ā€œCLEO and COMPANYā€

    Ā

If you like, you can use Tigressyā€™s link to find it on Sherpa

(I donā€™t know what you mean, Tigressy, about 22 differences in the URLā€¦)

Or just go straight to my side-by-side versionā€¦.

Which some people think makes the differences a bit easier to see:

    https://i.postimg.cc/LX0Z7FwG/Cleo-nine-differences-Aug-24th-19.png

    Ā

Your mileage, as they say, may vary.

    Which reminds meā€¦. time for a reminderā€¦.

    The puzzle is for funā€¦.

Nobody, certainly not me, keeps a record of who solved it, or who was first, fastest, or most accurate.

Never ever feel bad if think youā€™re the slowest, if you only found two differencesā€¦ or if you canā€™t or just donā€™t want to solve puzzles at all!

Just enjoy itā€¦ or the comic it was based onā€¦ or just watching Cleo snoozing, and visiting your Cleo family.

    Ā

Just imagine Helen trying to solve itā€¦.

    after she finds her glassesā€¦.

and figures out where she set down her teaā€¦

and remembers the password for her computerā€¦.

    and then for GoComicsā€¦.

and then tries to remember how many years back to go on Ballard Streetā€¦.

Iā€™m sure you do better than she does!

    Ā

Greatā€¦. another night when GoComics keeps going out on meā€¦.

Iā€™ve lost this post twiceā€¦. luckily, I copied it so here comes try #3ā€¦.

I guess Iā€™d better post the semi-anonymous gifmakers solution gif nowā€¦.

Weā€™re lucky she ā€¦orā€¦umā€¦. he, of courseā€¦. is stel making us one.

And Iā€™m lucky my last comment posted, and the site seems to be working again.

    Ā

So here, withoutā€¦.. as I recently saw on a blog (much to my combined amusement and dismay)ā€¦. any further ā€œadieuā€¦ā€

I give you the gift gif:

    https://i.postimg.cc/15DBfPXy/FTD-8-24-2019-AB.gif

    Ā

    Speaking of ā€œfurther adieuā€¦ā€ orā€¦ letā€™s notā€¦.

Just today, I ran across another favorite web spelling (NOT) in a recipeā€¦

ā€œRemove from the oven, and wala! "

    Wala??!

    Ā

    I know some people canā€™t spellā€¦ itā€™s OK.

But why do they copy something from each others posts and blogs without ever wondering what language itā€™s in, or attempting to look it up?

    Ohā€¦ rightā€¦ they canā€™t look it upā€¦. not under ā€œWā€ anyway.

And if they did see ā€œvoilaā€ they wouldnā€™t see the relationship because theyā€™d read it as ā€œVOY-la.ā€

    Sighā€¦.

    Ā

Ahā€¦ and that sigh reminds meā€¦. because I think I copied it many years ago from Charlie Brownā€¦.

Nighthawksā€¦. is that a Peanuts tribute lampshade?

BTWā€¦ Farside99 hasnā€™t commented here for six days, or, according to his profile, anywhere on GoComicsā€¦.

Thatā€™s not terribly long, if he were an intermittent commenterā€¦

but heā€™s usually here every day, so I just wondered whether anyone had heard him say anything about a trip or an absence.

I do have his email, so I wrote to him tonight.

    Ā

Jless, OTOH, hasnā€™t posted now in 20 days.

    Goodness.

Will everybody please get back here!

    Ā

BTWā€¦ I never replied to you, cellardoor, when you posted the link to Jlessā€™ avatar pictureā€¦.

I feel pretty foolish, cos I thought it was really his picture, and asked whether he was that young.

He was probably laughing cos I didnā€™t recognise it as generic, and was only pulling my leg when he said yes.

    Ā

Itā€™s kind of funny that most of the haircutting pages that turned up in your search were in Portuguese.

For all I know, heā€™s really an 87 year old Portuguese lady, who borrowed that picture from a haircut style book, and not a young guy like I thoughtā€¦.

but I donā€™t really think so.

    Got nine.

As for Helen, when I was a kid my sister and I would be choking trying keep in the laughter while watching our mom search for her glasses with them pushed up on her forehead.

Oooooooooo. It looks like Clara has redecorated the house. Love the wallpaper, and it looks like theyā€™ve upgraded with a ceiling fan. The only touch of the old is the Big W lamp. (big doubleyouuuuuuuuuuuu)

Iā€™ve gotta run, but since I couldnā€™t get the side by side to open, I just glanced at the puzzle and will enjoy it with lunch later today.

Iā€™m back. And I just had to do the puzzle. It was fun because I got stuck on #9 for a long while. I used Dennisā€™ trick of walking away from it and came back and wala, there it was as plain as day.

Looks like a panel from a new strip, Nighthawks. Or is my memory shot again?

Thanks again to Susan for providing us with her Side by Side, and for the Magical appearance of the solution.
