Wow - something to look forward to!

peer pressure only works if you care about what your peers think of you. by the time i was 20, i didn’t care. been marching to the beat of my own drum ever since.

The trick is to outlast your peers; it doesn’t work if you’re one of the first of your peers to go.

That’s a very rare independent ability.

If peer implies equal, I’ve never had any.

I had boocoo peers, but I left them all in a ratty place called denver colorado.

Sure you have, Yukoner. Equal in humanity, equal in human nature, equal in gifts, equal in overestimating those gifts…the list probably goes on and on. (I assume you’re kidding anyway.)

Give me uniqueness over greatness any day.

yyyguy, that cure can be worse than the disease! Seriously. Independent-mindedness is as overrated as groupthink.

When one studies how the human personality works, one learns that what is natural for you and what is best for you are not automatically the same thing.

..but there is still beer pressure,right?

What other people think of you is none of your business.

well there ARE peers still. In the graveyard.

when long hair was in fashion, i wore my hair long. when it went out of fashion, i still wore it long - sometimes in a pony tail. when pony tails became hip, i shaved my head. when guys started doing that, i stopped and let the hair grow back. it has it’s drawbacks (thinking independantly of the group, that is) but, on the whole, i prefer it. it’s making Jeopardy a bit more difficult, however, since i don’t know as much about current pop culture references, but i don’t mind much.
