Obviously that fireplace needs a swirly bulb.
It probably takes a small bulb with the little aluminum fan on top that turns when the bulb gets hot and makes the flickering. Yeah, major problem. You could get stuck on the pin the fan blades balanced on.
Put in a 3 watt nightlight and it’ll look dazzling compared to the other dim bulbs in the house…
