Heart: Why did Tootie stop playing his oboe, Mrs. Angelini? Mrs. Angelini: I wondered the same thing! So I peeped around to look... Mrs. Angelini: And there was Tootie, obie in hand, standing with his door held invitingly ajar. Mrs. Angelini: I walked over, but he didn't say a word. He just kinda smiled. Taking his cue, I kept silent and followed him into his music parlor. Heart: Weren't you scared about going into a strange boy's house? Mrs. Angelini: Nah, it was 1938! Everybody knew everybody. Not like today, where people send e-mail to any Joe Blow in Australia, but they don't know their own next-door neighbors.

Growing up in the 50’s, I never had to be afraid of going into a boy’s house or going out on dates in the 60’s.
