Donna is grass-green with envy and lobster-pink with sunburn.

I’m with Donna: that syrupy-sweet talk makes me want to barf, too! –And did you notice that Mona is wearing a RED dress? Good grief!

This is very upsetting: I find myself agreeing with Donna about something. [checks nervously for chunks of falling sky]

I’m cold and cruel. I’m looking forward to Mona’s fall and embarrassment

Yeah, I second Donna’s motion.

..I like happy Mona…you should make the vacation a yearly thing..

I’m thinking (but I wouldn’t put money on it) that Mona’s reversion to type won’t come until she gets back to L.A. How long will she be able to maintain this serenity once she’s back with Lucas, M. Smokey, and (worst) Pierre?

For all of their disagreements, Pierre IS Mona’s brother, and he knows her better than anyone else, and he’ll best know what buttons to push to save her from all this unwonted bliss.

Couldn’t agree with you more LLeRay. Mona happy on vacation is a wonderful thing. Isn’t that what vacation is supposed to be about — getting a break from the same ole same ole?

But we’re comic strip readers, and comic strip readers are supposed to fight tooth and nail against one of their characters experiencing…CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT!

Mona’s often happy, at others’ misfortune. Donna’s having a lousy vacation. Why wouldn’t Mona be smiling?

Mona knows that Donna is within earshot, too. Can you say “shadenfreude”?

LA would probably smell better if Mona quit smoking. (Sorry, that was small of me. I do like Mona.) (But I’m leaving it in anyway.)

You know I dont think I’ve seen Mona “light-up” since she got to Hawaii. Of course she couldn’t smoke on the plane - still.

Surprised that M Smokey isn’t pulling out his stitches by now … (call the Samaritans first, though, if the mood to “pull” strikes!)

Good point chuklitl. She does get jolly when other folks are having fury!
