Calvin, never pin the blame on your best friend. Especially when he is a top-of-the-food-chain predator.

Let’s not forget that Calvin was insulting Hobbes before the water started spewing. Hobbes is probably still steaming from that as well.

Calvin’s immediate future doesn’t look too bright. :P

I actually know several more quotable lines and yes, winter is slowly rolling down the sides of the mountains. This morning it was -10C (that C is for either Celsius or Canadian)

Calvin, you got off incredibly easy, and probably because the syndicate (if not Bill W.) wouldn’t allow any other outcome.

Hobbes starts in on Calvin, but he helped and he is his friend, that’s important. When Hobbes is Calvins friend, nothing can be so terrible!

DreamScourge: It sounds like they were twins.

I had my class reunion recently and two of the guys that lived on my street and were there. We shared alot of great adventures growing up. They were both embarrassed to tell me what they do for a living now. One took over the family business and is a shoe cobbler and the other owns his own plumbing business. I told them both that they should be proud of what they do and I was proud of them. They were both subject to the, “snickers” of some of our classmates. I have my own mobile home park and I knew what they went through. We all have grandkids now and make our own money. The, ” snickers” end up being the alone, job haters, divorced, and alcoholics of the class. God knows they should sit in judgement of the world!

If only you start to get allowance and the plumber charges were taken off from that .. you’d really have an idea of what anyone can ‘afford’ .. Calvin ..

That would never work Herocoder, If Dad started an allowance just to take what a plumber charges out of it, he’d have to keep Calvin on the allowance the rest of his life (Calvin’s life, not Dad’s) and he’d still have to pay the plumber up front first.

Calvin you got off easy. He is outside.

If my kid tried that he would have to get his sunlight shipped to him via FedEx.

In the third panel it looks, as if Hobbes wants to kick down Calvin, but he doesn’t and he is walking along with him in the next panel.

Susan001, there is one possibility which would allow Calvin to be walking outside (as current strip); his parents ban him from being inside house for a time (heck, he has had experience sleeping in tents, so he can use that).

LX013, that’s actually just a tactic to balance on back-legs-only, not indicative of any desire to kick Calvin (although that would be quite understandable).

They won’t be extinct. In fact they will be more cherished as they are farther and fewer between!! We’ll appreciate them more.

The first sentence I remember learning was “We can’t afford it.” My mom and dad said this about everything. It never made sense to me since I could see the money in their wallet. I didn’t understand about paying bills and stuff just like most kids don’t.

Calvin should learn that though Dad has a job he may not have enough money to throw away on a plumber because of Calvin’s mistake. The way to make him understand is to say this is coming out of your Christmas presents this year.

How much does Calvin think his Dad makes? Unexpected plumbing bils or other expenses caused by Calvin, can take away from money being spent on his Birthday/Christmas presents, clothing, food, comics or college fund.

Unfortunately Calvin’s statement is indicative of much of our society. Calvin needs to own his mistake; take responsibility for his actions; confess and repent and move on to improvement. Man up little guy! It’s a cycle which can be accomplished with some fortitude. How does it go?

This one time, at band camp, I met these other people that I already knew from someplace else and we got to talking and we discovered that this one friend of theirs had three rabbits and that the human head weighs ten pounds. I was so embarrassed for them because one them had a head that only weighed 8 pounds and one only 6 1/2. So anyway, I told them both that head size is highly over-rated and that they should be proud of of their tiny heads. My own head has often been considered abnormally large compared to my small body so I could sympathize. Just then, the oven timer went off to alert me that the rabbit stew was done. It smelled really tasty and I was about to take a bite when the aliens from Pluto attacked and God reached down from the heavens with his noodly appendage and smote the entire lot of us. Heaven is nice but in hindsight, it’s clear that we would have all been a lot better off if we’d never gone to band camp in the first place.

Sorry about my last comment. I wrote it at about 6:00 AM and I guess I was in, “rare form”. I think I meant to say something like: Have you hugged your plumber today! or Plumbers need love too! I feel like a bumper sticker writer but you get my drift! I’ll make comments later in the day next time! Hope I didn’t offend anyone!
