I’m in Northeast NY and we definitely got dumped on overnight with 22 inches of snow. My granddaughter was thrilled because she got an extra day with grandma and grandpa who took her out to play in the snow! She didn’t want to go to bed because she was afraid it would melt like with the other storms this year by morning. There’s another storm coming our way tomorrow but they think only 4-6 inches this time. I rather have the snow than the below zero temperatures with the 40-50mph winds for 2wks. with only a week in the teens before it started again for 2wks. Hello Spring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bring on all the snow. The key element here is the fact that the amount of daylight is noticibly increasing.

Cold but clear skies here in Florida. Hope to have sun later. Too bad you Northerners have so much snow. The wind is blowing out of the north and its very coooold.

Can’t wait for spring to get here so I don’t have to think so much…enjoy the snow..build me a snowman with a bathing suit on it…

Clear, crisp high 30s for the low, high in the 60s, here in Torreón, México (this is one of the colder days of the year) We see snow once every twenty years or so (1967, 1987, 2006)

It’s sad but it seems that most of the country shares Calvin’s bad mood. Read the headlines and it’s like most people wake up each morning and pray:

“Thank you Lord for giving me one more lousy day. Now, who should I hate today?”

No matter how hard I try to imagine what it could possibly be that has Calvin in such a bad mood, I think this or that must be it… Then I remember something else he’s done to get into mischief or something that Moe, Susie or for that matter Hobbes has done to him? So all I’ve done so far is give myself a headache and now I want it to be a cold gray day here!

the reason calvin is in a bad mood is his mother stopped him running out the door with a bat the other day & then hobbs tackled him yesterday

    hold a grudge long calvin?

I’m convinced that ‘bad moods’ are why people impulsively run out of the house into the fresh, pristine snowfall and then totally trash it by jumping around in it, eventually lashing out at eachother with compacted snow projectiles.

I’m not sure where the fits of laughter fit in.

Calvin is ALWAYS introverted. HE IS AN INTROVERT.

He’d be in more of a bad mood today if he ever read this comment section full of Calvin insults, and adult psycho babble. So few comments here show understanding of the comic strip. If Calvin isn’t the hero to you, you don’t get it.

I couldn’t agree with you more! As a matter of fact, that’s what I’m being forced to do today where I live. Now all I need is a nice warm tiger belly along with a delicious mug of hot chocolate with some mini-marshmallows to turn my bad mood around the other way again!

Hey Duke, I followed you here from FBoFW when you mentioned Calvin & Hobbs in your comment. Where are the Calvin insults that you speak of? Sometimes, I see Calvin’s “bad mood” as a craftily tooled manipulation to be used as he sees fit, and not really feeling bad at all. A talent to be honed for manhood.

I love everyone’s reginal weather report: I’m in Palm Springs and its 80 deg here……again. And wouldn’t you know it….I love grey days.

Calvin and Hobbes is a comic strip to be enjoyed. Why does it have to be analyzed and critiqued for deeper meaning? He’s not a hero or a villian, he’s just is a kid doing kid stuff. Fun stuff and he has an awesome friend he does it with.

phtpthpthpthpthpth! to all the psycho babble going on. It’s supposed to be funny. Looking for hidden messages is so ‘adult’ just enjoy it.

No one truly understands this comic. The only one that knows the exact meaning or interpretation of it is Bill Watterson. We all get out of it what we want. Neither of us is correct!

Sorry, folks, but Calvin is NOT an “introvert”. I hate to belabor this point, but take a look at how he thinks and acts and gain wisdom from it.

No one is completely introverted or extraverted. However, each of us has a dominant thought process that is one or the other. It is then supported by an inverse thought process.

Calvin is extraverted in his imagination - it’s how he engages the world, it’s his strongest thought process.. Most people would oversimplify that and call him “extraverted” for that reason. But it’s supported by a very strong sense of personal values, which is introverted. That makes him ENFP, hands down.

The reason why Calvin looks introverted right now is that he’s engaging a peculiar introverted thought process in a peculiar archetypical position - precisely the way an ENFP would (and just as I did when I was a child on such days, being a fellow ENFP).

This is not “adult psychobabble” - this is based on an incredibly rich model of human personality which will liberate anyone who will seriously engage it. It won’t solve all your problems (that takes something more metaphysical yet), but it will go a long way toward starting!

I have not stated whether I believe Calvin is introverted or extraverted overall. I did take the test and scored as close to the middle as possible on the Introvert/Extrovert label so I know it is possible to be towards the middle. Also I don’t think we see enough of Calvin’s life to be totally sure where he would lie on the scale.

BTW I was just making an observation, I am not going to label Calvin overall.
