Calvinâs lucky - I had to go to Sunday School when I was a kid. Missed alot of Rocky & Bullwinkle Shows in the days before VCRâs (or YouTube) were invented.
Missing a lot of Rocky & Bullwinkle was not necessarily a bad thing in my books. I only watched that show as part of a captive audience when I was in the hospital, many many years ago, Iâd have much rather have been sleeping, but the nurses wept waking me up for one reason or another.
Iâve heard the phrase, âyouâve got a tiger by the tailâ meaning, I suppose, that the tiger canât get you, but donât let go or youâre in trouble.
Calvin doesnât have a tail so youâre always in trouble.
what the heck..
Hi guys..
I should be the last one to read this i guess..
yeah..First or last i donât really care as long as i got my daily dosage of Calvin & Hobbes humour to make my day
haha..
This one kinda reminds me of the Sunday Dennis the Menace comics where the first 2-3 panels had a separate story line. I love Hobbesâ logic. Make something more desirable by making it harder to get. Didnât Tom Sawyer do something similar with the white wash?
By the way⊠Thank God for Sunday comics and coffee.
Your not the only one keltii iâm surprise itâs here. I flag to. I thought gocomics suppose to police comics. I just sent gocomics an email about the spammers donât know what will happen.
Thatâs a good idea, Kab Buch.
I just joined this site and donât really know how reliable the administrators can be⊠weâll see, I guess. But thereâs still nothing stopping the spammers from making new accounts and posting again.
You donât have to be in school to dislike Sundays, Calvin ⊠a job you really really hate will make you feel that way too (and that period of time lasts waaaaaay longer than your school years! So stay in school and study hard for a job/career that you may actually look forward to going to someday!).
Hey - I get Calvin & Hobbes emailed to me; another âFeatured Comicâ comes with. Lately itâs been âBaldo,â and itâs been in Spanish. Anyone else having the same issue?
Iâm betting what Hobbes is saying in the LAST panel is priceless.
âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ..
@ fran650âthanks for the nod. :-)
âŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠâŠ.
@ jukeofurl who said: âTook 15 or so years but er, um - nickel was/is misspelledâŠ.ââWow, sharp eye!
Thebird55: Your comment is SO true: âNothing can make you so angry with some one as them being right.â It reminds me of Mark Twainâs observation: âFew things are harder to put up with than the annoyance of a good example.â
Hey old_MK!! Rocky and Bullwinkle!! Now THERE was a great comic strip. I wish it were available in ârerunsâ like the Calvin and Hobbes strip.
A good point Poindexter! The variety of characters made the strip especially good. Rocky and Bullwinkle were only two of the many chatracters. The variety made it all the more interesting. From one day to the next you never knew what to expect.
thebird55 said,
âNothing can make you so angry with someone as them being right.â
Itâs âtheir being right, not âthem being rightâ!
Did I prove your statement correct? Are you so angry with me now? :o)
Calvin didnât let Hobbes finish his statement. How rude!
BTW, itâs a good thing the last panel is the last panel. Calvin might find another statement to be true. âFools rush in where angels fear to tread.â Calvin might be fierce, but Hobbes can be a âferocious tigerâ when aroused.
Since Calvin thinks âpeople are scumâ and is otherwise radically selfish (and a rebel with or without a cause to boot), is it any wonder he has no other close friends? He could even be close to Rosalyn the babysitter if he werenât his own worst enemy.
Hey, seanachie -
I didnât know R & B were in a comic strip, too! I just love the cartoon! I have a boxed set ofâŠwell, I forget how many episodes, ~1 hour each - that I occasionally pull out & watchâŠ

Calvin ought to know, since Hobbesâs thoughts are Calvinâs own. Sometimes I think the little guy just needs to keep himself on his own toes.
Still, .25 cents for a workout like that, and he didnât have to disinfect a machine, and wipe up someone elseâs sweat to get it. NICE!

Actually, Iâm impressed that a 6 year old knows what extortion is. Hobbs does not have fleas, though. Mom put him through the washer recently.

It was bad enough when I had to put on stiff clothes and go to Sunday School, but when they put that an hour before church so I had to go to both.
