Actually the song is called Civilization (Bingo, Bango, Bongo) performed by the Andrews Sisters with Danny Kaye and many others. It was written by Bob Hilliard and Carl Sigman
It’s essence is a satirization of life Post WWII (1947)
The chorus is
“bingo, bango, bongo, I don’t wanna leave the Congo, oh no no no no no
Bingo, bangle, bungle, I’m so happy in the jungle, I refuse to go”
My Boston terrier looks just like Hobbes when she pounces on her balll, and her “brother” looks like Hobbes when he stretches out to sleep. Between the two of them and me, there is no Hobbesian social contract! They demand, and I supply. But I wouldn’t give them up for any lessening of chaos!
From what I remember as a child 65 years ago, if the tiger ran around as fast as Hobbes he would have turned into a puddle of syrup for Calvin’s pancakes!
Larry Griffin:
I had some books given to me, from when both my Mom and I were children, after my Mom passed away. The box included the book, “Little Black Sambo” which has the tigers fighting each other by grabbing each others tails while running around a palm tree and going so fast that they turn into butter. The father gets a jar and takes the butter home to his wife to use in the making of pancakes! Is that what you’re referring to?
I have to edit out the racial references when reading the book but otherwise the story is cute and it’s a brightly colored book so it fascinates my 3 year old granddaughter.

He still reminds me of Tigger from Winne the Pooh when he pounces on Calvin! Ladywolf: How do you that again? It looks so cool!

I found the gif image on some site. Right click to save it to my hard drive, and put it on photobucket.
Dino-1 I’m not good with explaining step by step procedures on posting images. Someone here might know how to explain it. I just know how to do it.

Did Hobbes have a dream that he needs to pounce on Calvin?
With Calvin by his side, the jungle is in the house. :)
vibjyor over 14 years ago
Hobbes does not need to dream that he should pounce on Calvin. I think it comes to him pretty naturally anyways.
lewisbower over 14 years ago
All Calvin has to do is call Mom. Hobbes is cute as a stuffed animal. Wonder if he comes back with a “tude”
Spell check does not recognize “tude” Old as me.

Calvin is having a “moment”. He would never give up Hobbes. Remember when the house was ransacked and Hobbes was missing for awhile?
Good morning, everyone!
Thanks, LADYWOLF. :-)

My 10 yr old cat every know and then goes goofy like that and like Hobbes wants a playmate. Calvin seems to like to rough and tumble too.
