I wonder if Watterson thinks Calvin did the right thing? Possible hidden meaning in the last frame.

I’m just curious how many of you are aware that Calvin and Hobbes ended in 1995, and that these are reruns. Because many of you are speculating on what is going to happen next.

I could never understand why original Calvin and Hobbe’s ended so early. Waterston is still around, isn’t he?

Not to have brains is pretty bad, Moe, but not to have a conscience is far worse …

Yeah, Watterson is still around- gave an interview back in Feb. He retired mostly because he didn’t want Calvin and Hobbes to get stale, as many comics do. I was really sad when it happened, but I think it was wise of him to let Calvin and Hobbes go out on top.

Yes, they are repeats, but some people didn’t read them back then, and don’t know what happens next. And as a general rule, the people that do try not to spoil anything

Besides, many who did read them daily have forgotten since. And it’s fun seeing the plot develop anew.

It’s pretty difficult (if not impossible) to reason with someone who doesn’t have a brain – or a conscience – to feel badly for the horrible things they say and do to other people.

Calvin needs some “tae kwon do” classes asap… or maybe either a slignshot or a ak-47..

ratlum - keep in mind that not everyone follows the same schedule as you do. There are those on these boards from all over the world and various time zones, as well as those that work nights rather than days. Just because someone is on during turnover does not mean that they are staying up simply for the purpose of being first.

I love Calvin and Hobbes, and I love hearing from Marg. Having her the first or second commentor brings a sense of serenity to the world. Have you noticed SensibleMan that all of her comments are about the comic strip AND very positive!!!!!! She is a great role model to follow!!!!

astrozombie, this story ain’t over yet - and not everybody sees winning the same way – I think Calvin comes up a winner here.

BTW - for someone who wants people to comment on the comics, calling people rude names while NOT commenting on the comics does not exactly sell your case.

Bullies and SPAMMERS! As for the comic strip, how sad that Calvin came to such a wise decision… and then the last frame… I don’t like the way this is shaping up!

I usually reserve my comments about other people’s comments, but today has been one RUDE comment after another, both in language and personal character assassination. Why don’t we leave this for the politicians and stick to comics… which, btw, is why we are here, right?

Right on, Fogger_man. I definitely come for the comics and nice/witty posters that we have here.

I like reading the comments Marge leaves, not comments critical of others comments. Somehow though this seems to fit in with what Calvin is going through.

Perhaps our recent barrage of negative campaign ads have had a residual subliminal effect on our civility. A good rule to live by: If you can’t say something nice, just shut up! And as far as the vulgar use of profanity… it only reflects your own lack of mastery of the English language! However, just so my message is not lost on anyone wondering what I’m trying to convey to them… just read the comic, make cute comments, and cut the crap!

We all love Marg! When she’s not at the top of the comments, something is wrong with her.

Who’s on first, what’s on second matters less to me than the comic.

But if other people like an order to their day,, that is their choice.

I read this comic before, too, but have forgotten how the story proceeds.

My guess is Moe gets bored with the truck and leaves it behind.

It seems Moe is unfamiliar with the concept of sarcasm, or just does not see sarcasm as it applies to him.

how many kids out there are like Moe? probably too many…
