I’m sure nobody on the space station even knows who Soupy Sales was. I think one of his nastiest riddles had to do with “firetruck”–What starts with “f” and ends in “u, c,” well, I guess you get the picture.
I’m trying to think ahead here and figure out what he is going to buy with those credit cards on a space station. If he buys something on e-bay, man, watchout out for those FEDEX shipping charges from earth.
ARF2, Lewreader, algurka, Trebor39…you guys are aging yourself remembering Soupy Sales! But I am too, he was great and this seemed to bring back some fond memories for us. Thanks guys!
Oh yes, the great Saint Soupy! “Kids, while your folks are asleep tonight, find your dad’s wallet, take out the pictures of the presidents, and mail them to me.”
Also, the spelling lesson, asking the angry voice, “How come every time I write F, you see K?”
They certainly don’t have kiddie shows like that anymore!
I’m glad now that I didn’t encounter Soupy Sales until much later in his career. But I did see a (censored) version of the show with the naked lady, and if memory serves he looked as surprised as I was.

Dr. Mel is stealing an old Soupy Sales riff.

Why not? Dr. Mel steals everything else.
Hi, Marg!

Pam, you should know better. The question was suppose to be ‘What’s in it for the kids?’ as you know Dr Mel will work anything to his favor.

Oh Soupy Sales, I remember when you opened the door to find a naked lady standing on the other side. A very funny episode indeed.

Maybe the doc is really there to recruit future Winkys, for when the one he has can no longer be repaired with a simple spleen implant.

One of the kids looks like a little Pam. I wonder if she has any kids? Brewster doesn’t count. (further than 10…)

I also remember Soupy Sales, and that was a while ago.

I wasn’t aware that Soupy Sales was in any market other than Los Angeles until later, or that it first originated in Detroit. But yeah, fond memories.

Rakkav, from what I understand, his crew did that to him, and it was totally unexpected.

Heard an interview with Soupy once; the crew was always trying to get his goat in one way or another. Opening the door was Always an Adventure!
