I have to agree with Leo’s thinking. Nobody wants an annoying, distracting, overly excitable goody two shoes in the way. Now that Caspar’s out of the way, he can move onto rescuing Gary.
Swamp Thing is going to save Gary, but Leo doesn’t know it. In the movies, it’s called “simultaneous plot development.” It helps build up the tension and action. Aren’t you just sitting on the edge of your chair wondering who will get there first?
