That decision was reversed in the case Sylvester v Tweety Pie. In that case it was decided that rights must be read to all prey before the pounce can continue.

Sorry Ziggy, but after the Tom T Cat Vs Jerry T Mouse (Tom V Jerry) supreme court decision all pouncing cats must read the mice their mousanda rights.
Most cats will tend to “box in” the mice while reading them their rights, this is often interpreted by people as the cat “playing” with the mice.
