I just wonder what the difference in odds is between an airline losing your luggage and a letter getting lost in the mail.
You know what the coolest thing was?!? I got a letter one time that was destroyed in Germany!!!–not while in the US. It was cool seeing that the plastic baggie they send the remains in was very similar to that used here–only in German!! Yes….I’m a nerd. But still–I get a LOT of mail and it’s the only time my foreign mail was destroyed there not here.
The worst for me was when they sent my paycheck in one of those plastic bags all ripped up with a note “we’re sorry for any inconvenience.” Yeah right, it was obvious it was a check and they’re sorry for any inconvenience. In the same mailing there were three bills which of course arrived intact. I had to wait three weeks for a new check since the company demanded proof that the other check had been destroyed. I had to pay to send it registered.
I’m glad I have direct-deposit, but it, too, can have it’s drawbacks. There was a time when all of our pays went in as payments…so if you didn’t have enough money to cover, you were over-drawn.
If there is a mail strike there I wish there was an internet strike as well stating I have won money from a deceased releative indeed. Why do they waste our time with such dribble nonsense?
It’s usually just after I say nice things about the USPS or Canada Post that something goes missing or arrives banged up. But their over 99% success rate is far superior to the under 50% success rate I’ve experienced with the airlines and luggage. How does luggage intended for Winnipeg end up in Thailand???
I usually like Ziggy but find this cartoon an uncalled for knock against the PO. They can & do guarantee certain deliveries & in my opinion do an excellent job.

…but throwing it away has the effect - you’ll likely never see it again, AND it is cheaper ….

Perhaps the package is going to the U.K. Apparently there is a mail strike there.
