    The correct punishment (in my humble opinion) would be NO gifts for Jeri this year!

    WRONG! It straightened ME out, REAL fast! It’s why I was a police officer instead of going the other way. Corporal punishment, PROPERLY administered, is the fastest, most effective method, to correct a child’s behavior. It is when people MISUSE spanking, either through OVERUSE, or through EXTREME use, that it becomes detrimental. The classic “peach switch to the bottom” works; so does the bare hand to the bottom. The jack strap does not, nor does the bull whip. And the cane is out of the question, as is the fist to the face (or even an open hand to the face). or anything worse.
