hotspur666 – Newsflash: banking and rampant financial market deregulation in the late 1990s wrought by Republican lawmakers is now being felt both in the financial and real markets. If you want to bury your head, recite sound bites, and post about revisionist history, that’s one thing. But, it’s one thing to be ill-informed, and quite another to be an ignorant racist. And that is the problem ‘heah’!!!

I’m a little suprised that the level headed Maine residents appointed Johnny to that post. What were they thinking?

OH, now I get it. If you are not going to vote for Obama, you are de facto a racist.

No. When you make overtly racist comments, you are a racist. And when you make racist comments on my page, you’re gone.

Again, this is a cartoon. Lighten up and get a life.

As a Canadian, being overly saturated by the never-ending campaigning going on in the states, I’ll breathe a big sigh of relief once it’s all over. Although, I’m sure there will be TONS more material for cartoonists and editoral cartoonists to use with whomever takes office…

Now if his name was Joe and he was an unlicensed plumber from Toledo - that would really be funny!

Nonsequitur, I agree with you. I would say “GET A LIFE!” Make sure that all folks wake up and think about it for a minute or so anyway!

I’m with Mitstan…this stupid campaign has gone on entirely too long. I’m completely in favor of doing the limited-time campaigns that they do in the UK.

I hope McCain wins (sorry, Obama doesn’t ring true to me,) but I’ve gotten to the point where I don’t care as long as the election is done. (Though I’m getting cynical. I imagine that the next batch of presidential wannabes will start to circle two weeks after the Inauguration.)

Enough with the knee jerk, 50’s Commie bating please. This is 2008 right? Or has the right wing politics of this country forgotten this fact? Communist Russia failed, Communist China is limping, Communist North Korea never had a chance. We are in danger of “Communism” why?

Communism again? It failed because no one did it right. Trouble is, NO ONE can do it right. Won’t stop the idiots from trying, though.

    hotspur666 says: “I like turtles.”

For someone who’s comments had been so caustic, and even offensive, that’s pretty funny!

BTW: “This is a cartoon”; nonsequitor, implies cartoons are a lesser medium; I read a lot of the NY Times, Salon and listen to NPR and must say cartoons are always more efficient at conveying messages or sentiments – and often more powerful.

The best example I could come up with is explaining my position on Middle East affairs to someone who disagreed with me, I reminded him of the cartoon of the rowing slave driver who said, “The beatings will continue until moral has improved”, he understood me completely with that.

Reminds me of the three branches of government, but it also applies to Wall Street banks who made the mess and want to be hired as consultants in the cleanup –and police themselves when it is all over, of course.

    Priceless! Love it.
