Danae: C'mon, Kate... don't you think most people are stupid? Kate: No, not really. What's disappointing is when smart people who know better do stupid things. Danae: Uh... doesn't that make them stupid by default? Kate: No, just really irritating, especially the know-it-alls who think they're absolutely right about everything. Danae: Oh, I hate those guys, too! They're so-o-o annoying. Kate: Yes, they are a clueless bunch, aren't they...

There’s a distinct difference between stupid and dumb, just like there’s a difference between smart and intelligent. Some people can be stupid and still be smart and others can be intelligent and still be dumb.

If you’re ignorant, you just don’t know something, but can be educated. If you’re stupid, you can’t learn.
Up until a few months ago, most of us were probably ignorant of who the governor of Alaska was, but since we’re not stupid, we now know that her name is Sarah Palin.

It’s almost frightening that Kate’s reasoning is so obvious and Danae not only doesn’t have a clue, she doesn’t even suspect anything. “ZING”!!

I think that I may know what you mean, but I'm not sure that I know which should be which. Can you explain further?

“Ignorance is a choice”. (I head that years ago and it is SO TRUE)
