Sounds just like Obama… Let’s see we need change, yeah that’s it change. I have no idea what needs to be changed but change is what we need. That’s ok, no one is really going to ask me what I want to change anyway so all I have to do is get the media to throw the word change around a lot and I’ll win for sure.

Then reality hits, what has Obama changed so far? Let’s see inspite of what he said about having a diverse cabinet and a diverse set of advisors every appointment he has made is either a corrupt Chicago politician, Democrat party leader, or a leftover from the disastrous Clinton administration.

    Yeah, that’s change alright!

Ok, come on… can we knock off the strident political posturing, please? If you want to get into political arguments, go to a political board. This is a cartoon board, so please keep the comments to the cartoon, which, today, has absolutely no political commentary of any sort. You guys are just too predictable in your daily rant and is very boring. If this is too much to ask of you, then please just stay away.

Ah yes, you liberals are all so predictable. You assume that just because I know that putting Obama in the White House is a disaster of epic proportions that this country may never recover from, that I must be a Bush fan and that I must get all my news from Fox (which is far less liberal than the other news stations but still a very long way from being conservative).

Just to set all of you whiny liberals that bought Obamas lies hook, line, and sinker straight. I am not a Bush fan, never have been a Bush fan, not even from the begining. Bush was simply the least of the evils that we were presented with. I mean really, this country would not even exist anymore as a soverign nation if we had allowed Gore or Kerry into the White House.

Secondly, I do not watch or read Fox news, never have. In fact, I get the majority of my news from MSNBC (one of the most liberal news organizations). The difference is that I do not allow the media to tell me what to think. I can do that on my own.

I have given Obama a chance. I am from Illinois. Obama and the rest of the liberal political machine here in Illinois have nearly destroyed this State. You know the old saying a leopard cannot change his spots, well neither can a politician. Not even one with a messiah complex like Obama.

Isosceles, -Mrs. Tubbsbottl informs me- was an old Greek siding salesman back in the 1st. century B.C. Turns out he invented the triangle shape to help fit odd pieces of siding on some of the then newer Roman buildings. (What’s sauce for the goose is worth two in the bush!)

h20man, the kitchen triangle that you describe is usually scalene (no sides matching) rather than isosceles (at least two sides must match).

Well, isn’t the the sum of the square root of any two sides of an isosceles triangle equal to the sqaure root of the remaining side?

Thank you, Leonard, but it really gets tiresome when political innuendo is read into virtually everything and taken as an opportunity to go off on an ideological rant. I’m just asking to keep the comments directed toward the actual cartoon of the day, cartooning in general, or, most importantly, about ME! Constant praise and worship of all things Wiley never gets old.

I should also point out (this comes as an unofficial announcement) that Non Sequitur will be steering clear of politics for the foreseeable future and just get back to satirizing life. All the more reason to knock off the political commentary that no one is interested in here.

    My page, my rules.

Wiley, The beauty of your strip, and a very few others, is that it speaks to many different people on many different levels. That is what makes your strip stand out from a lot of lesser quality strips. The fact that your comic strip can create as much debate on multiple levels as yours does on a regular basis should be taken as a compliment. It means you are reaching lots of people at lots of levels. That alone is quite an accomplishment.

Wiley, Right now politics is at the forefront of everything going on in this country, therefore it is only logical to assume that it will be read into everything. Besides I did not start the political chatter, I just finished it. In spite of what a lot of people think it is imperative that someone stand up for the truth. I guess that is my job.

    Leonard….

“Then reality hits, what has Obama changed so far?”

cut the guy some slack eh? by the time you posted this he had been in office in less than 24 hours - and here is one very prominent thing - the announcement of the closing of Guantanamo Bay - pretty significant. What have you done in the last 24 hours?

“Just to set all of you whiny liberals that bought Obamas lies hook, line, and sinker straight. I am not a Bush fan, never have been a Bush fan, not even from the begining. Bush was simply the least of the evils that we were presented with. I mean really, this country would not even exist anymore as a soverign nation if we had allowed Gore or Kerry into the White House.” - This doesnt even make sense…i suggest you try this - http://www.amazon.com/Improving-Sentence-Structure-Better-Writing/dp/1419641913

“Secondly, I do not watch or read Fox news, never have. In fact, I get the majority of my news from MSNBC (one of the most liberal news organizations)” - I didnt know you could read Fox news…when did their paper come out? Also NBC…owned by GE…one of the largest weapon contracters to the DoD - yeah…they are real liberal

“Not even one with a messiah complex like Obama.” - Yes some people hold Obama up to be a Messiah, but that doesnt necessarily means he views himself as such

oh and while we are on the subject…Obama is not liberal - George Bush was liberal (him and his father), as was Reagan too.

    so there…chad out!

“This doesnt even make sense…i suggest you try this”

Actually, it does make sense. In this comment, Leonard was claiming that the President has the ability to singlehandedly destroy the United States. When Gore and Kerry ran, the legislative branch was majority Rpublican. Therefore, they had the ability to tie the President’s hands, but Leonard believes, according to this comment, that this ability doesn’t matter; that, somehow, the President can supersede that ability.

Talk about a messiah complex… It’s comments such as those that would make Danae speechless.

It’s pretty cool when the cartoonist himself is here on the board to see the comments. I just started reading this one about a week ago so I’m not familiar with it very well yet. But I think we should honour Wiley’s wishes. I agree with all you said about Obama LeonardWatson but maybe it would be better to leave the politics off this particular comic and take them to another board.

    Actually, it does make sense

i was referring to the sentence structure…hence the link

and yes, it is really cool that the artist posts too - its always an amazing experiance when you can discuss something with the creator - and yes we are putting too much politico-context into things

so lets all just stop it - Left-wingers be content that Bush is gone and Right-wingers suck it up - the left put up with 8 years of Bush - least you can do is give Obama at least a week before you start criticizing everything about him

To clear up two iffy statements… An Isosceles Triangle is a triangle with AT LEAST TWO congruent sides (Therefore equilateral triangles are also Isosceles) The Pythagorean theorem CAN work for any triangle. If a2 + b2 < c2, the triangle is obtuse. If a2 + b2 = c2, it’s a right triangle, and if a2 + b2 > c2, it’s acute.

Last point I remember an old cartoon introducing the Isosceles Triangle - Mr. and Mrs. Isosceles and their maid, Grizelda.
