Mrs. Tubbsbotl and I are wondering how Danae’s name is pronounced. Is it Danay or Danee?

This is better than one-a-day vitamins. I honestly believe Danae could hold a workshop for aspiring CEO’s.

This is the second most frequently asked question. Danae (named after the Greek goddess, mother of the hero, Perseus) is pronounced DAH-nay.

I like that name, it’s unusual. I had a friend when I was little named Dana but adding the e on the end makes it sound exotic.

Along with other ships of the Royal Navy named after mythical heroes (Achilles, Hector etc.) HMS Danae has had a venerable history as well. Various manifestations have been as frigates and destroyers, going back to the time of the Napoleonic wars.
