Now that’s a low blow!

Wow! Even the birds don’t use proper English. You wouldn’t say “I see I,” so why say “I see you and I?”

it is an unfortunate sign of the way English is now being taught to children. They honestly don’t know any better (and they certainly don’t have good roll models in the media!)

I agree with you both. Kids also need better role models for spelling.

So what would be proper? Us? We two? You certainly couldn’t say “I see me being happy together.” LOL

According to Microsoft Word (they can’t be wrong! haha)

“I see you and me being happy together” “I see you and I being happy together.”

are both ‘correct’. I’m sure if we search Google, we’ll find someone to say neither is correct.

I see YOU. You see ME. That’s how it works. Do you know how to diagram a sentence? If you did, there wouldn’t even be a question.

The only reason you wouldn’t say “I see me…” is that it becomes reflexive. Thus you would say, “I see myself…”

I don’t know why I bother. I’m used to people who don’t know and care less.

How about “I see us being happy together”?

I’m still laughing about ‘roll model’…I guess you find those in a bakery shop window…or maybe, a Tonka truck is a roll model…omg….

It doesn’t make any sense! How could Shoe be 1/2 right? If he sees only one of them happy “together”?!? Together with what / whom? If it’s only one of them, he/she can’t be “together” alone.

Maybe it’s a Paul Aldrich kinda thing…

I-empress: I am with you on that. However, ending a sentence with a preposition is something up with which I am willing to put.

Hmmm. Maybe it should be, “I can see our being happy together.”

Isn’t 1/2 of 1/2 equal to a quarter? that’s all she’s worth?

I can see that all of you are unhappy altogether! IT’S A COMIC STRIP, PEOPLE! NOT AN ENGLISH LESSON! Can’t you just get a laugh and move on or do you have to dissect every little thing to satisfy some deep seated urge to prove that you’re right?!! Geez, GET A FUNNYBONE! (Thank you, doctor. I feel so much better now…)

How about just “I’ll give you $50.” Forget the English problem.
