And not at the lunch or the dinner tables, either.

That kind of hat suggests mental imbalance.

Careful, Ted. Gloria might grab your fuzzy balls hanging down, and give them a yank.

BTW the usual link to Sherpa also leads to a Halloween card.

Ted knows that to project real moral authority, you have to get up very early in the morning and make sure that you don’t let up all day!

    Oh – and Happy Halloween!

Don’t let the pump-gun spies get you. Or any cats involved.

All bassets within a 50 mile range are howling in fear they all hope that they are well hidden from that evil cat.

    Good evening… or morning…. or afternoon…. everybody…

    and Happy Halloween!

Yup…. not only are we treated to an animated Jack-o-Lantern

in the October 31st  2019 “CLEO and COMPANY”

    on Sherpa…

and besides that, can we meet here, in our cozy Cleo comments forum….

(even if it is a shared one…)

But we’re sent to a third URL to view today’s wonderful ( but creepy… ) Halloween animation.

    Now, how many Sherpa comics….

how many comics anywhere… are spread over three separate URLs?

    And just for us! Wow.

Great work, you guys, on the animation!

Really nice, smooth action… which I’m sure took a lot of frames to create.

    That’s your answer, Dennis, AFAIK…

Not some special “Gifyu format”, but that the Gifyu site will host a big enough file to contain many layers.

A .gif is a stack of layers, each containing one frame of the action, one piece of movement.

They’re all combined into a single .gif file, which magically displays one frame after another.

They’re like the pages in a paper flip book, if you remember those.. or the little frames in a film strip…

The more images, the smoother it looks in motion.

GoComics allows its cartoonists only 1 megabyte of space into which to upload a strip.

Cleo animations often have to be peeled down, removing frames until there are barely enough to make them work, so they fit into 1 Mb.

I downloaded today’s animation, and it’s over THREE Mb…. way too big for Sherpa… which is, I’m sure, why Nighthawks and Stel chose to have it hosted on Gifyu.

All those frames (and skillful artwork) make the motion in each scene look so continuous…. and great.

As for the content… sorry.. can’t tell you.

    I’m behind a chair… but there isn’t much room….

Hmmm… it’s kinda dark… but there seems to be a a big, trembling dog squeezed in next to me…

    short legs… long brown ears…

    OH! Cleo!

    Fancy meeting you here…

    Of course… know you’re not scared…

    neither am I.

I just came to look at Ballard Street.

    Some hat, right?

    Hahaha.

Dear Mrs. Montana Lady and Ms. Sunshine

Is there any room behind the couch?

    Sincerely,

    Rotifer’s Mother

(I was bitten by a cat when was “with Rotifer” and the experience left me with a bad case of ailurophobia.)

If I had any criticism of CREEPY, it’s that our narrator is sitting in such a small chair. Not a lot of room to hide behind. It’s getting crowded back here!

However much room a real couch or sofa would have had for hiding purposes, it would have lacked that special ambiance.

    OK, girls, squeeze in!!!

I would like to offer moral support, but I have questionable morals.
