If anyone reads this strip I have a question. A family member attends a different denomination then me and they are using a pirate emblem on a shirt as a theme for kids to read the King James Bible. I told family pirates are very bad and evil the member claims there are pirates in the Bible. I do not believe this. Any opionions.
Dear kab2rb,
I have my BA in Bible. I used to be a Methodist Minister for a small denomination.
I don’t know of any pirates in the Bible. Israel was not a seafaring people. In Jonah and Acts, the sailors are merchants. There are no other instances of ships except Jesus with his fishermen apostles.
No Denomination —a group of churches— rejects the modern translations. An independent church which rejects the modern translations would also have crazy ideas about other things. Tell your relations, Don’t drink the cool aid.
