Heart of the City by Steenz for November 06, 2009
Transcript:
Heart: Pssst! Hey, mom....there's no maze or word games on the menu or placemats! Mom: Yes, this is a nice restaurant, Heart. You place your order, then sit quietly or chat politely with your tablemate. Heart: So....you pay more, but actually we get less. Heart: Is this another one of those adult concepts that I better start getting used it? Mom: It gets easier when you're allowed to have wine.

Good for Heart’s mom for trying to teach her daughter at a young age how to properly behave in restaurants. It’s a great lesson for kids. Now whether or not Heart will actually learn that lesson is another question altogether.

Scream and throw things. Modern culture seems to think that’s OK

Heart could have worn her Boa and it would look appropriate.

LOL…I well remember going to restaurants where the placemats had word games and pictures to color, and there was always a small container of crayons (with the really, really necessary color always missing). I no longer need to eat at those places, but still kind of miss them…

I wonder why some parents let their kids run around in restaurants? I am so annoyed by this. My kids weren’t loowed to… Oh and the local pancake restaurant over here has activity placements with crayons in little cups. Awesome!

Amy > You’re right. It is good for Hearts mom to teach her child that lesson. Still, you can’t deny Heart has a point.
