When we moved to the Upper Peninsula of MI the insurance agent said, “When a deer walks in front of you always hit the deer, do not swerve to miss.” The rational being they will not count it as your fault if there is solid evidence there is a deer, but not if they think you just ran off the road. @LittleYipScream: “Great Googaly Moogaly” is a phrase from Frank Zappa’s song “Yellow Snow”. In context, it seems to be a mock Eskimo deity. Whether Zappa borrowed the phrase from somewhere else, I have no idea.
I know this is a week late, but yeah, Frank borrowed it from a Howlin’ Wolf song. The line as I recall, is where he is reminiscing about all the fun he’s had, and he says “And WOMEN? Great Googly-Moogly!”
