“Blessed” with great wealth? I’m betting Beyonce worked her bleeep off to get her wealth. I hate that mindset, that someone who has worked hard to earn their money are somehow “morally obligated” to help others.

And besides, how much does she have to help others before she can splurge on herself? Is there some ratio of money given to poor versus money she spends on herself?

Until about 50 years ago there were only two choices offered by moral theorists: either sacrifice others to yourself (ala Nietzsche) or yourself to others (ala Jesus, Marx, Hitler, JFK, the Pope, etc., etc.).

It was Ayn Rand whose Objectivist philosophy provided the first non-sacrificial morality in history, starting in her novel “Atlas Shrugged” and later is her non-fiction such as “The Virtue of Selfishness”.

Does that title upset you? You can thank Jesus, Marx, etc. Read Ayn Rand to understand why the world is such a mess.

How did Hitler sacrifice himself to others?

Ironically, Beyonce received four million dollars for her performance of Etta James in “Cadillac Records.” To which she donated the full amount to several drug re-hab programs due to the fact Ms. James was a drug addict. Ironically, the biggest proponents of “government compassion” are the tightest on “personal compassion” while the so-called mean-spirited conservatitives give more to charity.

I agree with Macushlalondra: “pschearer, you are putting Jesus and Hitler in the same category? Are you JOKING??”

I know Jesus wants people to sacrifice their things for others, but Hitler never did anything like that!

Yes, I’m quite confused myself on how Hitler and how reading Ayn Rand, will help us to understand helping others and sacrificing ourselves.
