Michael: Man, I remember some who were so strict, we couldn't get away with anything! If you didn't have your work done, if you mouthed off - bam! You got dentention. Deanna: Some of our teachers were tough on us all right. Michael: Yeah. Too bad we'll never have the chance to thank them.

Yes, but for every Mr. Ratburn you have a dozen whose discipline is compensation for their lack of any educational skill.
